31. #1 Actually it was Israel that climbed a tree
Leon   (04.25.11)
You think the Palestinians climbed a tree and got stuck but it is really Israel. You really don't see what's going on at all (blinded by racial hatred - what comments really - I suspect) because the Palestinians are not backtracking but say if Israel will halt all stealing of Palestinian lands and stop building and enlarging settlements then they will negotiate Israel's withdrawal from the Occupied West Bank. This is what the world expects and wants the PA to do and this will make all the Western Democracies feel good about voting for the PA state in the UN this Sept. Hate if you must but maybe this is why you are so ignorant to what is going on and why the PA has as they say 'eaten your lunch'.
32. #31, PA not stuck in a tree
Danny   (04.25.11)
They are exactly where they want to be. They have more or less total freedom billions of dollars of international aid to embezzle, absolutely no responsibility at all and Israel gets blamed for everything. No wonder they are happy up that tree. PS remind me again when exactly this was Palestinian land?
33. beilin empowered rabbo
alexi   (04.25.11)
yossi beilin empowered this stern self deceived liar and hardliner rabbo. i say to you shut up. Arrest him. Enough with these israeli educated and empowered treasonous adversaries. Israel knows it has serious trouble when gidi weitz brags an article praising olmert for investigation corruption of idf officials. Olmert investigation corruption is like the pot calling the kettle black in my opinion. What a bloody joke! And israelis were so stupid to have voted for him.

No compromises: - Right of Return and Compensation (for Arabs only). - Evacuation of Settlements (Juden Reign - no Jews allowed). - Militarised (Worshiper shooting "protection") - No Security - Unification with the Islamic State of Gaza. - No compromises. Great deal!!
35. "Wont accept" Israeli presence, huh?
Jewish Warrior   (04.25.11)
What ya gonna do? If we don't negotiate on your terms (1967 borders, half of Jerusalem, "return"), then you'll declare a state and expect Israel to just pack up and leave? You know full well you are not strong enough, and if you think the world will lift a finger to help you, you are wrong. Senators have already promised that the US will veto any Security Council Resolution, and Germany and France, the two main EU leaders, are divided.
36. Doug #27 trying learning to read
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (04.25.11)
The UN Charter states that ALL land west of the Jordan River belongs to us and cannot be given to anybody else. The UNSC is in VIOLATION of international law. The Arabs are illegal occupiers of our lands without a single legal claim. As for the 4th GC, doesn't apply to our own land. Every single expert in international law state the exact same thing. Don't attempt to use material that you don't understand.

BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (04.25.11)
You neglected to mention alll of the agreements that the Arabs didn't keep At Oslo, Arafat promised to remove the clause from the PLO Charter that called for the destruction of Israel, it's still there For any agreement to have effect, there must be mutuallity, both parties must adhere to it, Arabs saw fit to ignore the UN Partion Plan, they blocked the Suez to Israeli Shipping, they initiated the 1948, 1956, 1967 & 1973 Wars Here's a brief history of event, bone up on them, you're ignorance is rather profound These are the "Timelines" of the Conflict; you need to educate yourself http://www.mideastweb.org/timeline.htm
39. You mean "serious capitulation" or unilateral declaration
William ,   Israel   (04.26.11)
As most every country which has offered initial support for a "Palestinian" State said as a caveat to their support, it must be created on the basis of negotiations, not unilateral actions which would result in violence. At the end of the day, 191 countries could vote in favor of "Palestine" but only one State matters - Israel. Since you've proven that you won't negotiate until you're sure you'll get everything you want (called extortion), go ahead and declare a State. The so-called "refugees" need some place to go, and it sure won't be Tel Aviv.
40. #27 - history didn't begin in 1967
William ,   Israel   (04.26.11)
UN resolutions only remain valid if BOTH parties abide by them. It is morally and legally irresponsible to demand one party adhere to the resolution while the other does not have to. Since UNR181, Israel has agreed to many of the resolutions and put into place policies to aid their implementation, but Arabs rejected them - they rejected partition (UNR181), they rejected end of aggression against Israel (UNR194), they rejected negotiations on WB and Gaza to determine borders (UNR242), they rejected countless others which brought cease-fires which they break. Actually, Jordan/Arabs both illegally took, ethnically cleansed, and annexed West Bank, flooding it with Arabs to boost population. That's a violation of Geneva Convention. Israelis just returned to land they were ethnically cleansed from - a legal response to a war crime. Camp David agreements stipulated the conditions under which an Israeli withdraw can commence, and the Arabs didn't meet those conditions. Again, agreements are not valid if both parties do not meet the requirements under them. Typical manipulation and blatant disregard of facts to prove an agenda-based point. Idiot.
41. #31 - Pals previously agreed to expansions
William ,   Israel   (04.26.11)
through Oslo Accords. So, if they instead want it to stop, then yes, they are backtracking on previous agreements. Same with borders. In past agreements, including those we just saw released by wikileaks, the PA agreed to land swaps and gave up 1967 borders. So again, yes, the PA backtracked on agreements. But to the intelligent, the PA has never backtracked only because they swore to Israel's non-recognition and destruction in 1967, in 1994, and continue until today.
42. HAHA. "wont accept israeli military presence/settlers"
Faruq   (04.26.11)
as if these pathetic criminals can do a thing!
43. PA
carol ,   seabeck usa   (04.26.11)
Exactly what concessions have the PA made to show they are negotiating in good faith. Could it be NONE!
44. forgot to add
carol ,   seabeck usa   (04.26.11)
Sounds like apartheid talk by the PA against the Jewish people. where is the UN when the truth hits the fan?
45. "Serious talks or unilateral...."
BigT ,   Manchester England   (06.29.13)
#36. Not one word of the UN Charter even mentions a Jewish state in Palestine, let alone that "ALL land west of the Jordan River belongs to us and cannot be given to anyone else". You need to tell Israel's Supreme Court that it is wrong in ruling that the OPTs are held in belligerent occupation by Israel and that the Hague Regulations and the Geneva Conventions both apply. MOST experts in international law say that you are completely, off the wall, mistaken.
