1. Not enough Martyrs?
Jacob Erickson ,   Holon, Israel   (04.27.11)
I guess they had trouble recruiting people that are willing to confront the IDF.
2. Apparently Palestine is not worth dying for.
Noodles ,   Coney Island   (04.27.11)
3. No, westerners don't want to sail with martyrs
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (04.27.11)
Who wants to go on a boat that you know is going to have dozens or hundreds of Islamic radicals who want to die (aka martyr themselves) in a confrontation with with IDF. The Islamofascists behind the IHH are discovering that people are finding out their real purpose - a violent confrontation against the IDF in order to die and get to heaven and have sex with 72 virgins forever. Silly misguided western liberal do-gooders want to help the "starving people of Gaza", not get involved in a shootout with Israeli commandos. Or maybe they found out the truth that nobody in Gaza is starving after all...

8. Enough of "My dad can hit your Dad"
e xUK ,   Tel Aviv Israel   (04.27.11)
Thank goodness that the 'non martyrs' are coming to their senses. They know from the UN that there is no humanitarian crisis or acute shortage situation in Gaza. They know that ANY goods wishing to be donated to civilians can be sent vis Egypt or Israel, but that there is a possibility that Hamas will confiscate it or sell it on at inflated prices. They know that Israel cannot allow arms to get in via sea,and that they will do 'whatever is required'to enforce this rule. They realise that the whole point of the flotilla is to 'get at' Israel, rather than deliver needed goods. There is more than enogh 'unrest' in this region without further adding to it with provocative actions.Turkey and Israel hgave both been 'silly' in various statements and actions. But it is still not too late to repair relations between the most stable allies in the region. We should be looking for positive reasons to work together, rather than negative reasons for non cooperation.

11. PROOF, BLOCKADE LEGAL
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (04.27.11)
Well, Well, maybe people are waking up to the nonsense. As the article stated and I quote: "However recent reports claimed there is another reason for the delay: Many of the activists who signed up for the mission canceled after learning the flotilla is illegal and might lead to their arrest by Israel." Another way of saying the "flotilla is illegal". The Israeli "blockade" is in fact "legal". As I've always stated. Every time I posted legal opinions, the sources were attacked on a personal level. But never their legal arguments, because they were based on clear International Law. All the lying from the Arabs couldn't change that. The recent BBC documentary that blamed the terrorists for the confrontation, also from what I saw, indicated the other passengers...at least some of them...were used as human shields. But they were tricked, to some degree, not realizing until it was to late that the 40+ terrorist had in effect, taken over the ship. I don't believe all the passengers understood until that moment, that it was the terrorists plan...from the beginning... to turn the whole thing violent. Nobody likes to be used, so Now the activists are having second thoughts. Do they want to die for this fake cause, apparently many are saying , NO. Like rats deserting a sinking ship. The truth has won, hopefully. The last flotilla was a pure lie. The was No .crisis in Gaza, there No aid on 3 of the ships, and the confrontation was premeditated and staged. The message finally got out.
12. Bring them on
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (04.27.11)
There is no doubt that the Mavi Marmara incident was Ehud Barak's failure, whose incompetence made him believe that the passengers were "peace activists", endangering IDF and leading to the deaths of IHH terrorists. Barak should be replaced and a smarter Defense Minister put in charge. If the ships try to break the blockade they can be stopped. Instead of commandos, the boarding party should be the brutal YSM armed with clubs. There will be no deaths, but the terrorists will end up beaten, disabled, hog tied and humiliated.
13. "Gazilla Attacks from the Sea Again"
Reuven Brauner ,   Raanana, Israel   (04.27.11)
Israel must state clearly: Any infiltrating ship will be sunk. Period. Then do it.
14. Oh doubtless, #3
Cameron ,   USA   (04.27.11)
Much amusement at the thought of these Lefty twits demanding that there be no Muslims aboard their boat during the journey to save Gaza. Fool antics.
15. Isn't it amazing how quickly..
RJK ,   Canada   (04.27.11)
these" terrorists" change their plans when they get info that there is a force awatiing them that will control access to Israel ports. It is never so easy to incur death & destruction when U R confronted with prepared, willing, professional defenders.\ The 1st attempt was met only by individuals who had been instructed to "PLAY" with those on board. They also had been told to use only paintball guns. The Israeli defenders were informed they were confronting only "Pacifists" but found out that was far from the truth. That will not happen this time round. So, what is the response from these oh so brave & death seeking Peaceniks? They virtually CANCEL their flotilla. Hoping for a better, less prepared Israel when, if they attempt it again. Be forewarned all U Fools. The IDF & her affiliates will not respond as they did the 1st time. They learn quickly. They have placed their original outlooks & responses in the dustbin. If, U "brave" individuals even consider a second time, be forewarned that U will not succeed in utilizing the tactics U did the 1st time. The Israeli Defense Forces are totally ready 4 U. So come on down to the seaport town & find yourselves in trouble. Have fun!
16. flotilla postponment

the flotilla sponsures find it hard to believe that volanteers want to back something basesd on truth instead of their lies!
17. Flotilla postponement
graczek ,   Maryland, USA   (04.27.11)
Regrettable, but understandable in the light of upcoming elections in Turkey. I hope to see it resumed as soon as those elections are over. Meanwhile, we can do our bit here in the West through the BDS/Lawfare movement.
18. OTTOMAN AMBITIONS
American ,   Los Angeles   (04.27.11)
Under the banner of "human rights" Turkey is trying to restore the ottoman empire by supporting all the enemy of israel.
19. It has nothing to do with elections ..
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (04.27.11)
... in Turkey or anywhere else. It has to do with the fact that (i) Turkey has basically declared that it supports the breach of an internationally recognized and fully legal blockade which Israel has declared it will thwart and Turkey knows it will come out a sad second best in any confrontation with Israel; (ii) terrorists just aren't what they used to be, and given a choice between a grand adventure on a sailing ship and either going to an Israeli prison or being shipped home in a body bag of Israeli manufacture, the true cowardly nature of terrorists will come to the fore, every time (they're staying home) and (iii) let's face it, folks -- the ersatz "Palestinians" just don't matter all that much. To anyone. The world has passed them by. Besides -- not so anyone's noticed, but the only humanitarian issues in Gaza are those attributable exclusively to Hamas and the rest of the terrorist flotsam and jetsam. Perhaps someone can buy Erdogan a set of toy boats and he can play blockade runner in his bathtub. You can get really neat ones -- paddle-wheel steamers where the paddles actually work -- oh, my -- won't bath time be fun for Mr. Erdogan! He can invite Messrs. Gul and Davutoglu to join him, followed by cookies and milk and, if they’re really, really good boys – maybe even a story before bedtime. “Once upon a time there was an absurd attempt to organize a flotilla ….”
20. To number 3

I think that maybe they found out that the 72 virgins are men.

22. Turkey will never be the same
Avner ,   Los Angeles, CA   (04.27.11)
Turkey will inevitably have an Islamic revolution like Iran did in 1979. Observant muslims have outbred secular turks through out the country and now they have taken over the big cities, Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, etc Due to this demographic shift, there is no going back and Turkey is now becoming just as fanatic as Pakistan or Iraq. Turkey will remain nominally secular for the sake for tourism, economy and govt institutions, but the social pressures have changed drastically. The days of Ataturk are gone. I just hope all the Turkish jews can leave before its too late
23. "Many realized the flotilla was illegal"
William ,   Israel   (04.27.11)
wha....what??? Illegal! Hey activists, you're beginning to use your brain and read intl law. No no no! You are not on the boats to be thinkers, you are lemmings. Just listen to your Leftist handlers - they will "explain" everything away. Remember, as a Leftist, you need to adhere only to your ideology - human rights, intl law, even basic physics of time and space have no affect on you. Ignore them because YOU are the beacon of humanity for the rest of the mis-guided, illiterate schmucks on this planet.
24. #2 - didn't they know they'd get a town square named 4 them?
William ,   Israel   (04.27.11)
or a way-off-Broadway play to highlight their "sacrifice" in the best possible light? The PA is right now soliciting millions of dollars in funds to build more and more town squares to honor all those useful idiots.
25. #17 - call me when you have another Best Buy flash mob
William ,   Israel   (04.27.11)
hahahahaha
26. ALL IN FAVOR OF THE FLOTILLA
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (04.27.11)
They have plenty of empty seats, reserve yours, there is nobody waiting in line split semongrel Jerrold Cohen You guys should be eager beavers and be the first in line
27. #17 graczek
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (04.27.11)
BDS isn't working too well What the flotilla needs if someone like you to fill a vacant seat, since so many have already chickened out While you're touting BDS, practive it ! Your computer operating systems, chances are that a great deal of it was developed and designed in Israel, since both Microsoft & HP do a good deal of their work in Israel Junk your cellphone, much of it was also designged in Israel
28. Floatilla delayed...my ass
Mark ,   usa   (04.27.11)
Two things are likely at work here. Even thought Turkish govt. Says the floatilla is not part of govt policy stance, watch for turkey's political parties to turn floatilla into a national platform, so when it is launched the floatilla will have substancial national backing in turkey. Second what better way to derail israelie diplomatic efforts to stop the floatilla, than to say the floatilla is on hold, only to proceed with the planning in the background.
29.  12. Bring them on
