2. Moroccan Jews died in European Death camps
Shelomo ,   NYC   (04.27.11)
Many Moroccan Jews died in European Death camps. Jews from Casablanca, Rabat, Tangier and many other cities were deported from France. To mention Moroccan Jews then say "Freedom of movement includes entrance to parks, movie theaters, and use of public transportation among others" seems to minimize the importance of the Claims Conference good decision and the suffering that Jews of Morocco. ghostq   (04.27.11)
after British murdered jews, I don't think this should go un noticed, add that to the Richard the lion heard who murdered all the jews In jerusalem in 1089 and the king george the first executions(700 jews hanged and another 500 jews were drowned just for being jews) also the race law in 1025 that no jew foot will be on British soil, so Brit pay up cause the past crimes goes in long list.
6. Moroccan Jews - Equal right.
Alan ,   Jerusalem   (04.27.11)
Oh good! So does this means that "Israeli European Jews" are to restitute grabbed land, employment and educational privileges, social favors, redress Moroccan Jews citizenry to 1st class and have their arabic sounding names readapted?. Will Ashkenazi produced history text books now start to include "the Ethnic Cleansing" of 350,000 moroccan Jews alongside their folkmen? or should we simply continue to content ourselves with the one-day-a-year Mimouna national celebration?
7. It is not the $$

The recognition is much more important than the money, anyway most of the survivors are now dead. The numbers of Moroccan Jews sent to camps is not too large as they were not yet to many Moroccan born Jews living in Europe in 1939 but lets not forget that there was a plan (aborted) for sending to camps most of the Jews residing in Morocco. I'll have now a special thot for at least 7 members of my family deported in 1944 from Paris, parents born in Morocco, children born in Paris, who never came back. Nice to point out that Moroccans fought during WW2, some were exterminated and some made very good combat soldiers for Israel.
8. my mothers family
pini   (04.27.11)
In 1944 had to fill out forms for german nazis regarding the size of family and member names while living in rabat. If the war had not ended when it had I would not be typing this today.

Mum was six years old when she broke her thigh bone. She was refused treatment at the french hospital in Casablanca. When gangrene developed she was admitted, but only for amputation of the whole leg. The night before the operation, the American fleet docked at the port. American doctors and surgeons took over the treatment of Jews and saved my Mum's leg !
