Of course Ron's analysis is all wrong Fatah is hamas. Hamas takeover will force Israelies like him to face reality. Maybe?
2. Stop pretending Israel will accept Two State Final Solution.
Chaim ,   Israel   (04.28.11)
The Israeli government is bringing on virtually all our problems by pretending we'll accept the deadly Two State Final Solution. We won't accept an 8 mile (15 minute tank ride) waist and being rendered totally defenseless. We won't accept being robbed of Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria. They are legally ours. Once we clearly admit we reject the Two State Final Solution, we will free our many millions of friends to support us in rejecting this abomination. We won't have to tolerate "help" in creating this monstrous evil.
3. Author is 1/2 right
J K ,   NYC, USA   (04.28.11)
Like in Lebanon, the US will eventually see the light and take away the funding it gives Fatah. Heck, Hamas is designated a terror group by the US. Can't keep giving money to Fatah if Hamas is part of the government and is stating quite publicly that a) it won't speak peace with Israel and b) still wont disavow its charter calling for the destruction of Israel. Forget that though. Once Hamas wins the elections, there will be no one to talk to and whatever the UN votes for will be even more worthless. Israel doesn't need another useless piece of paper. The Arabs will be emboldened and try to obtain through force what they refuse to negotiate over. They better wise up because they're in for another Nakba if they try.,
4. Not bode well?
chemstar333 ,   Cleveland, USA   (04.28.11)
On the contrary! Nature provides new opportunities to overcome previous mistakes. Here is another Oppertunity for both to start anew and establish two very tolerant and friendly states side by side. Being very cunning and smart and hateful and vengeful is a clear sign of very stupid and very evil people.
5. Dear Mr. Yishai:
Israeli 2   (04.28.11)
you said: "it does not bode well for Israel, because it enables Hamas to utilize more powerful levers in order to thwart a long-term political agreement between Israel and the Palestinian Authority." This bodes VERY well for Israel.
6. Absurd conclusion
Steven ,   San Francisco   (04.28.11)
"...because it enables Hamas to utilize more powerful levers in order to thwart a long-term political agreement between Israel and the Palestinian Authority." Well that's exactly their intention, Fatah is a willing participant as much as Hamas in striving for precisely that result. A long term political agreement is not what they are thinking, duh.. They are thinking to get the UN to create a state for them without any long term political agreement with Israel, because they, to put it kindly, have utter contempt for you, your country and any political "deals". Sir, not everyone, including these malignant Arab enemies you have peace fantasies about, believes in the virtue of negotiations. Many such people, especially those born in a culture of hate and intolerance for their own people, let alone other groups, overwhelmingly believe in the virtues of power politics, intimidations and fait accomplis. To them negotiation is for sissies. Hello?
7. Actually this is the best thing for Israel
Fabulous!   (04.28.11)
Up until now Fatah gave the Israel-haters fodder with which to bash Israel, and Mahmoody could pretend to be a poor little abused peace-nik. But when Hamas takes over, the show will be over, and everything will be a lot clearer for the moonbats in Europe. Mahmood Abbas and his cronies have just signed there demise warrant - Unbelievable! Again they chose the wrong option, just can't help themselves!
8. Bad Analysis
Freddy ,   Yanuv Israel   (04.28.11)
Ron forgets the political developments in Egypt. We saw the Egyptians create new diplomatic bonds with Iran. It is very important for Iran to increase its influence in the Arab world and this region in particular. What about Egypt asking Iran to "force" Hamas to sign this agreement if Iran wants normalization with Egypt ??? It would explain this sudden change with the Palestinians.....
9. A Step Towards Disaster

10. it apears that fath is listining to hamass
nahya   (04.28.11)
after osloe there were hamass leaders first they listened to fath then fath obliged to listene but killing of many leaders did not obliged hamass to stop talking but it seems that fath obliged to listen again
11. Release Shalit
Isiaiah   (04.28.11)
Gila Shalit ought be released for quiet peace is impossible.

justice for all ,   world/planet earth   (04.29.11)
i think gilad shalit should be free, but also the palestinian prisonners and mordechai vanunu should also be free to be and to go where he wants, even if he wants to go to another country. love cannot always come from one side only.
13. Hamas will be technically gone but its structure remains
Bloodyscot ,   Dallas, Texas   (04.29.11)
Hamas' charter will be no more, just the newly modified PLO charter which will be carefully worded to cover both sides views and yet vague enough for Quartet to except it. The Muslim Brotherhoods wants them to keep low profile until after elections then use 1978 Camp David Accords to pressure Israel to remove soldiers from all of W. Bank and turn over control to elected PA per the agreement.
14. Bloodyscot #13 wrong again
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (04.29.11)
I will bet you 1 million US Dollars that none of you claims will happen. Care to take me up on that? Put some money where you put your mouth. Not one letter of any of the charters will be changed. There will be no keeping a low profile, Hamas wants a war and they are working to start one.
