1. For allegedly smart people, our leaders are STUPID!
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (04.28.11)
Carmuba! Why not put the ball in Hamas' court? Seriously! Tell them that you are willing to sit down and negotiate with Hamas for a peace treaty between the Palestinians and Israel. Say it!!! It costs you NOTHING! Hamas will refuse - they have to. They simply cannot swallow all their rhetoric and sit down to negotiate a peace treaty with Israel. They won't do it! So tell the world we will indeed negotiate a permanent peace treaty with them - make them look like the bad guys! (they are!).
2. Lmao, as if they ever held any serious talks with Abbas ...
Tami ,   Nablus, Palestine   (04.28.11)
... or Fatah before the reconciliation with Hamas. Their only problem will be that the world's now too smart to buy that nonsense!!!
5. and now?
vitenberg ,   France   (04.28.11)
Logic, but what when the first "Qassam" falls upon Lod?
6. #1.
A ,   Belgium   (04.28.11)
Israels leaders will be very SMART if they stick to their commitment not to negotiate with a Hamas/ Fatah (eventually 100% hamas) government. In addition, the moment the agreement is signed, Israel should suspend ALL resources coming from Israel to the arabs in gazastan and Judea/ Samaria, and they should strenghten the blockade around gazastan. Abbas doesnt stand a chance, it will be hamas facing Israel in the end. And hamas will LOSE!
7. When has Netanyahu ever kept his word ?
Marcel ,   Florida   (04.28.11)
NEVER ! The little poodle always bends when the slightest breeze comes along. Better cry out to God,My dear Israel !
8. Tami's little world
Joel ,   WE ARE ALL SDEROT!   (04.28.11)
Tami the world is in complete disarray. From China to Argentina and everywhere in between. No one believes Abbas the bagman and certainly no one in their right mind would buy a used fig from mule face Haneah. It's all a game between Hamas momsers and Fatah loosers who daydream about another installment of the genocide against the Jews. Aint gonna happen dummy, get ready for the fight of your useless life.
9. #1, at long last we are witnessing the end of Oslo --- B"H
Jake ,   USA   (04.28.11)
I think you are wrong on this. If Israel pretends that they are willing to negotiate with Hamas, they have no right or reason to begin dissolving the dead-end "peace process", which is finally happening. By perpetuating the status quo, with more mind tricks and poker bluffs, there would be no justification for restricting the PLO leaders from traveling freely inside Israel (to be resumed shortly), and no justification for scaling back the sovereign status of the PA government. I have been following Bibi for many years, and he has ALWAYS opposed Oslo, and the concept of a PA state. The EU & US forced him to offer the PA statehood, so he made an offer that he knew would never -ever- be accepted by the PA (no Jerusalem, no Jordan valley, no PA military, no right of return etc...). Now he is playing his cards very well, and letting the PA destroy itself.
10. With Fatah - Hamas Agreement
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (04.28.11)
That makes the PA responsible for every single terrorist attack from Gaza. It also makes the PA responsible for their hostage, if they don't immediately release Gilad Shalit then we end everything with those assholes.
11. Hamas
Michaelpielet ,   Boca,usa   (04.28.11)
Reality Fatah is hamas. The peace negotiations are only for the benefit of Obama. All clear thinking israelies, that is those Israelies who are sane realize that there never be peace with the arabs in Judea and Samaria and Gaza. Unfortunately the insane Israeli left and their confused naive sympathizers, the heloni women in North Tel Aviv do not understand or not able to contemplate this reality. Let hamas takeover then the Fatah fiction that they want peace will be destroyed..
12. as an arab i have only one thing to say to Bibi
masrawy ,   egypt   (04.28.11)
WE DONN'T CARE !!!! live with it
13. #6 How do you plan on tightening blockade?
Mo ,   gaza   (04.28.11)
Mubarak is gone :)
14. Time for responsible people in Fatah to change course ...
Tami ,   Palestine   (04.28.11)
... and leverage the trump card of national unity and all means of strength against Israeli occupation after so many years of absurd negotiations, which were exploited by Israeli governments only to build more settlements and create new facts on the ground
15. Technically there will no longer be an Hamas
Bloodyscot ,   Dallas, Texas   (04.28.11)
The ex-Hamas organization will soon be under a newly modified PLO charter and a PLO subgroup. The reports are that the new wording of the changes to the PLO charter are being very carefully worded to cover both groups view points and still be Oked by US/EU. Hamas is be gone, yet it structure and leadership will remain, simply under a new name and charter.
16. WHY WOULD THEY TALK???
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (04.28.11)
It simply makes NO sense, After all it was a marriage of convenience. Just a PR trick for the Western Media. Some BS to go to the UN with, as if they have a unity government that is serious about peace. What was the remark made by Hamas immediately after the story started to break? Right HERE: "top Hamas official Mahmoud al-Zahar said Thursday that his organization does not intend to recognize Israel or conduct any peace talks with it." I have to admit, I do love the sheer stupidity of the Arabs. Their blind hatred, at times, actually helps Israel with it's case. Why would you even attempt any serious conversation with a group who now is part of the "New" government. When they state quite clearly their intentions. The above quote leaves NO room for doubt. So this should be exhibit (A) at the UN. Not that it matters, with such a bias International group of thug nations. Who believe they really get "legitimacy" from this Laughable body. The false legitimacy is recognized at least here in the USA. Like the BBC, they only side with Israel when the evidence is so overwhelming, against Israel's enemies, that to side against Israel would make them look so foolish, that even the few who still believe in them, would walk away.
17. I think the PA has out manouvered bibi
SAM ,   ME   (04.28.11)
bibi left them no option his arguments were: - You can't have a state if you are divided - and we won't talk to you until you accept the jewishness of Israel So the PA said well we are not talking anyways let us unite with Hamas and go for the state option. And most likely it will work. Either they will get a state or they will force bibi to sit and negotiate without the PA giving away the last card they have which is accepting Israel as a Jewish state which is another way of saying no refugees will return
18. The PA recognizes us?
bob96 ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (04.28.11)
I think Bibi is somewhat delusional or is not saying the whole truth... the PA recognizes Israel? Maybe... but not as a Jewish State, one of the rare few points Bibi has sustained as indispensable. The fact is Fatah and Hamas are the same rotten wine, just with some differences in the bottle's label.
19. What makes Hamas more dangerous than Fatah terrorists?
Avi ,   Israel   (04.28.11)
They both have massacred and murdered hundreds of Jews, including children and babies. Think of the Fogel family HY"D. Hamas and Fatah are one of the same terrorist organization with different names, like J-Street, Peace Now and Betzelem who are one and the same.
20. masrawry #12
Robert Haymond ,   Israel/Canada   (04.28.11)
You're an Arab residing in Egypt or an Egytian declaiming he's an Arab? Which is it?
21. tami !14
Robert Haymond ,   Israel/Canada   (04.28.11)
For your information, Palestinians have built up everything from Ramallah to Jerusalem. It's very crowded. Facts, as you say, on the ground.
22. #6 Mo from Gaza
A ,   Belgium   (04.28.11)
Since hamastan and Israel will technically be in a state of word (the intended destruction of Israel by hamastan is a good enough declaration of war), than the Israeli navy will have the right to stop any ship it deems suspicious to be searched at sea, even if it flys a Turkish, Iranian, or Botswanian flag and supposedly carries "only" European peace activists. As for the border between gaza and egypt, Israel can't MAKE Egypt stop smuggling from the Egyptian side, but they sure can bomb the tunnels on the gazastan side. And they dont need worthless Mubarak OR Egypt for anything!
23. Bibi OUTRAGED over PA/Hamas Deal
Edward ,   Savannah, USA   (04.28.11)
I bet Bibi was "outraged" by the deal they cut BEFORE he had a chance to give away the REST of ISRAEL!!! How dare they pre-empt his "surprise" concessions to obamanation before the U.S. Congress!!! And the worst part of all this is that no one was "outraged" about hamas calling Israeli intelligence or Israelis in particular-STUPID!!! How STUPID is giving your country away to people that want to kill you for worthless pieces of paper called a "peace treaty"!!!??? How's that "peace treaty" working out with Egypt lately!!!??? "Hope & Change" don't work folks. It isn't working in the States, and it sure won't work out for you in Israel.
24. There is nothing to talk about. This land is ours.
Chaim ,   Israel   (04.28.11)
Bibi implies Fatah and the P.A. are better than Hamas when he says, "No talks with Hamas". In fact, Fatah and the P.A. are worse than Hamas. Fatah and the P.A. have exactly the same goal as Hamas - Israel's destruction. However, Hamas is honest about it. Fatah and the P.A. lie about it, but not in Arabic. In Arabic, Fatah and the P.A. publicly, clearly and constantly admit they want to destroy Israel. It's time to end the ludicrous "good Fatah/Bad Hamas" charade. Israel should not negotiate with ANY of the terrorists. There is nothing to talk about. This land is ours.
25. Stop falsely calling Abbas the "Palestinian president"!
Chaim ,   Israel   (04.28.11)
Again, I urge Ynet to stop lying to your readers. There is no "Palestine", and the vast majority of Israelis will assure there never will be one on our land. We are too intelligent and love life too much. Thus there is no "Palestinian president". Secondly, Abbas is not even the legitimate leader of the P.A. His term expired long ago. Let alone the "president" of fictional Palestine.
26. oh my! It's been a while since I've laughed so hard I cried
Salma ,   Palestine   (04.28.11)
The World Wants to Overthrow Netanyahu's Government. hope very soon : )
27. The Good & Bad and the USA
Ahmad ,   Jerusalem   (04.28.11)
Things are changing and no one knows for sure where thing will head. The US is becoming weak due to unconditional support to Israel and Arab dictators. Add to that. The war on terror has caused the US trillions of dollars and hate of Arabs masses .This hate translates into support to al-Qaida and fundamentalists groups and the cycle continues. Uncle Sam already started removing the support to the dictators and will push for a peace deal regardless of AIPAC and Jewish strong influence. If the US's future at risk, fulfilling the spoiled kid’s wishes will become secondary to the future of the US. Arab dictators made a deal to support Israel in secret and stay in power. I guess this did not work as those leaders couldn’t protect themselves let alone their enabler, the US. What all this mean. Israel will have to give something or its future will be in doubt, longer term speaking.
28. The deal
john   (04.28.11)
The deal is very simple to understand. It is good for Hamas and bad for the PA. The PA has a chance at losing everything - which is strange considering the economic boom in the West Bank and the legitimacy that the West is giving the PA. Hamas has nothing to lose; if the deal breaks down, they go back to being the de facto government of the Gaza Strip - if the deal stays in tact, Hamas gets stronger. Very, very bad move on the PA's part. Either way, this deal will have very little adverse effects on Israel. Economy is up, tourism is up, Israelis are continuing with their lives. Too bad the Palestinians don't learn from the Israelis.
29. Mr Attila,
Mishal ,   Damascus   (04.28.11)
you forgot to tell your source that political parties don't recognize states or vice versa. Not a single Israeli party, including Likud, recognizes Palestine or the Palestinians, not because they don't want to, but because it's not their business. It's governments' job to do that. The Palestinian government however must say clearly that it abides by signed agreements.
