1. My Opinion : It's Very Simple
Abdel Karim Salim ,   Jerusalem   (05.05.11)
Personally I would most certainly opt to remain on the Israeli side rather than the Palestinian side for three basic and main reasons : 1) More financial security. 2) Much better health care and health insurance. 3) Much more freedom in the liberal,western-style Israeli society. Furthermore I have no compunction to say openly that none of the Palestinian organisations, and the Palestinian Authority is no exception here, has ever made me feel that somebody cares about me as a Palestinian ! The PA & HAMAS are good propaganda exporters and just nothing beyond that . I certainly need much more than that to live and survive decently and with dignity as a Palestinian .
2. ''notation'' should be ''finding''
defend our language   (05.05.11)
3. They want Jerusalem citizenship not Israel
Ali ,   Washington, DC   (05.05.11)
The pollack migrants still don't get it.
4. Thanks, but the answer is a resounding
Israeli 2   (05.05.11)
NO!! No 2 State solution, period. Jerusalem is Israel's anyway.
5. Reason Why Israeli citizen is prefered
issa ,   Palestine   (05.05.11)
Its because in israel they will still live in most of historic palestine while in the new state they will only get 33 percent of historic palestine. Going to haife and yaffa will always be better than nablus and Ramallah. There is also economic reasons of course too but even israelis would trade if they where given the arab situation we have today.
6. Jerusalem should never be devided
David ,   On this planet   (05.05.11)
It does not make sense to hand over part of Jerusalem to the Palestinians and in return to have their residents move into Israel. ....Everyone should stay where they are and Jerusalem remain complete
7. Why?
Abed ,   Nazareth,Israel   (05.05.11)
East Jerusalem Arabs were offered citizenship in 1967 when Israel re united its capital. Why now? These are the same people that cheer after every Palestinian attack, the people that cheered 9/11 and mourned Bin Laden. Keep this in mind before approving any application for citizenship.
8. Duhh . . .
noa ,   israel   (05.05.11)
They are free to practice their religion quietly. They can take all the days they need to from work. They don't have to serve in the army. The women will have rights. They can go to the universities here, be treated in our hospitals. No one has any idea what the Palestinian State will be like.
9. east jerusalem
sas ,   israel   (05.05.11)
they know they have a good life here and see their "brothers' suffering around the world. where in the world would they get such medical coverage................and have their children study at top universities???????
10. That's all we need... hundreds of thousands of Arabs
moving to Israel   (05.05.11)
What an absurd situation - if Israel ends up with the hundreds of thousands of east Jerusalem Arabs moving to Israel proper and east Jerusalem under control of the Palestinians.
11. iam sure
(05.05.11)
that those who answerd in favor of israel are the uneducated . and the poor , you can keep them israel , palestine does not need them , ADIOS AMIGOS from palestine ....
12. west jerusalem
observer ,   Jerusalem/Palestine   (05.05.11)
after east jerusalem is part of palestine all of us from jerusalem will move to the west side, the west side is also palestine.

Remi   (05.05.11)

14. They shouldn't be allow to settle in Israel
Joe ,   Canada   (05.05.11)
2 states for 2 peoples, remember?
15. eating the cake, and......
tiki ,   belgium   (05.05.11)
Enjoying all Israeli 'benefits and non stop complaining & whining about those 'horrible racist Israeli's. Israel should 'take away their citizenship, kick them out to the "Palestine that they so much wanted and STOP any more Arabs coming in. It's one or the other. They want both.
16. #5: excuses, excuses, excuses......Dream...
Vardina   (05.05.11)

17. #12: Try to move and you will sooner meet
Bardina   (05.05.11)
the 72 reproduced virgins...,,
18. I'd rather give it away than split it in half :^(
Nick Sporek ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (05.05.11)
19. To Issa, #5
Michael Davison ,   Ra'anana, Israel   (05.05.11)
I'm sure it would distress you to learn that Israel, the West Bank and Gaza together make up only 22% of "Historical Palestine". Jordan was 77% of the League of Nations Mandate for Palestine, which was the first time "Palestine" was given any borders. Prior to that, the term "Palestine" was just an amorphous geographical description of an area without borders. An additional 1% was sliced off when Britain gave the French Mandate for Syria the Golan Heights, which also officially belonged to Palestine. History did not start in 1967 or 1948, there were many events leading up to those dates, which Palestinians desperately want to forget or ignore. It won't work.
21. 40% said they were "likely to move to Israel"
Cynic #2   (05.05.11)
Good idea. You can house them in Ramleh, Lod or Jaffa or Ramat Aviv or Herzliyah if you like.
22. How is 35% a majority?
Potash Katiftof ,   tel aviv israel   (05.05.11)
So a full 65% plan on staying for sure and 35% said they want to move, I don't see how that is most.
23. to #19 there is no historical palestine
ghostq   (05.05.11)
it goes only since the British came in 1914 and gave that name, it is colonial name, they got no history, much like pakistan.
24. Ignorance
Saeed ,   Jerusalem-Palestine   (05.05.11)
As a resident of East Jerusalem I can confirm that thsese respondents are blesses with ignorance!!! all they think about is health care and a bunch of benefits that they humiliate themselves on daily basis to receieve the minimum of it!!! we dont want your health care, national insurance, racism, or taxes...we lived on this land for thousands of years and we will cotinue to do so. call it Palestine or Israel or whatever you want, this holy land is not for Palestinians or Israelis alone. What we really want is the freedom to live anywhere on this land.
25. to #24 you r wrong when the EJ residents
ghostq   (05.05.11)
will be part of the pali area, the social benefits will be stopped permanently, you will get even less than what you got now since in the pali area do not have that system, and you do not live in east jerusalem thousands of years, the oldest arabic relic goes only 1000 of years from Saladin era and he wasn't even arab just Muslim.
26. Perhaps but Israel doesn't want them
Menachem ,   Israel   (05.05.11)
The overwhelming majority of the "East Jerusalem" Arabs are alien parasites and racists who want to have it both ways: consuming Israeli welfare and PA/Hamas anti-semitic propaganda. They don't deserve Israeli citizenship and they will not get it.
27. #24 They want a better quality of life
Cynthia ,   USA   (05.05.11)
Don't fault them for that. Health care, national insurance, employment & educational opportunities are important. The Hamas "unity government will bring Sharia Law to the Palestinians which means say goodbye to freedom. It seems the entire ME is awash with people protesting to access these benefits. If you don't want these benefits, give them up so more appreciative individuals can benefit from them.
28. to Salma 20
john Darren ,   cairns-Australia   (05.05.11)
Your mother has nothing to do with "right to return".And nor have you.
29. To#20 Slama..you are so typical Arab
Shai   (05.05.11)
retarded..the palestinian state will not last even a year..you'll receive a gold mine becomes a bloody war between fatah and Hamas on which Islamic dictatorship established
30. tough choice
Rami ,   Israel   (05.05.11)
Whether to be a 5th class citizen in Israel or just another citizen in an uncertain Palestine!!!
