31. East Jerusalemites are victims
Jihad ,   Hebron   (05.05.11)
of Israeli discrimination and PA's neglect, they do have it both ways but in a the most negative sense. They are heavily taxed by Israel with no return in services, and they are at the forefront of the PA's fight for Jerusalem...I dont envy them.
32. ALL OR NOTHING : (
ROBERT ,   FARMINGTON,WV   (05.05.11)
Dont be fooled they what all or nothing , give them east jerusalem tomorrow the next day the un and the terrorist would be crying for west jerusalem the pa charter tells us what they want the death of the jews......... may the lord forever bless the state of israel.

hope you, your family, never experience ill health on your travels through israel.
34. #24
Talula ,   Israel   (05.05.11)
All they think about is health care? Isn't that a fundamental need of any person? Why don't you try and get health care in Gaza? Oh, that's right, because there isn't any, and what is available is sub-standard. You've lived here thousands of years? Check your history books mate, so have the Jews.
35. They wanna keep the cake and eat it too,how (not) surprising
Tahl   (05.05.11)
East Jeruslaem residents declare themselves Palestinians and riot every time a Jew walks up to Temple Mount. They also do not pay Israeli or municipality taxes. Yet they want to keep getting the benefits of their Israeli citizenship - healthcare, national insurance, free education, rights and freedoms. How convenient.
36. Amazing!!!!
Peter ,   NY, NY   (05.05.11)
So these people prefer to stay under occupation in exchange for benefits???
38. #5: it's the people who make the cities
(05.05.11)
The reason why Haifa and Yafo look like they are and Ramallah and Nablus look the way they are is because Yafo and Haifa are Israeli towns and Ramalah and Nablus are Palestinian towns. If Israel were to be established in the west bank and the Palestinian territory in the costal plains, you would have a Switzerland like, developed, picturesque, mountainous Israel, and a Gaza like, humid, 3rd world Aran Palestine on the shores of the Mediteranian see. Historic Palestine was one big wilderness before the Zionists made something out of it.
39. This Poll Assumes a Lot
emanon ,   USA   (05.05.11)
This assumes the arabs will ever agree to a two state solution. They have historically and continuously demonstrated they favor a one state solution: their state without any Jewish presence.
40. The Palestinian capital is Amman

41. #5 ...historic palestine
Eli ,   Yerushalayim   (05.05.11)
What exactly do you mean. When and where was there ever Palestine?
42. E. Jerusalem PA Arabs are NOT Citizens
Chaim ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (05.05.11)
These people that were polled are legal residents of Jerusalem, but they are NOT citizens. There is great confusion by most Israelis about this. They carry national ID cards like Israeli citizens do, but their ID's have minor differences, and specifically state that they are legal residents. It does not say they are citizens, like on the national ID cards of Israeli citizens. They are the equivalent of foreigners residing in America with "green cards". legal resident aliens.
43. Exactly
Luther ,   Motala Sweden   (05.05.11)
These Arabs are the ones whose friendship Jews should try gain. When that happens, Israeli Jews will have gained a lot for themselves, too. The confrontational elements like Hamas will be weakened, as they deserve. In this way Arabs, who may become the fate of Jews in Israel could become their future. But if Jews and Arabs keep hating each other, there will sooner of later be a terrible destruction of both people in the Levant.

I've got some bad news for you. You're going to Gaza, to be a citizen under the new, much-ballyhooed "unity government." Go build your ersatz "Palestinian" state there. You're not wanted here.
45. Losing the land but getting the Arabs? No thanks.
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (05.05.11)
That most of the Arabs of eastern Jerusalem prefer to live in Israel to "Palestine" is no secret. And it demonstrates why FM Lieberman's plan to include the Arab Triangle in any land swap with the Palestinians will only leave Israel worse off. A major objective of all the "peace processing" is to better align the two nations (Jewish and Arab) with the states under which they live. And the Jewish left insists that the captured territories must be turned over to the Palestinians if Israel is to remain majority Jewish and democratic. But if the Arabs of those lands will freely move to the Israeli side, how will such a division promote that objective? All Israel accomplishes is that the land is lost forever. And everyone should understand that a divided Jerusalem will ultimately prove unlivable for Jews.

I'll break the news to you gently -- you are an Arab, and you come from the Arabian peninsula. The Hejaz in the western Arabian desert, to be exact. Others among you drifted in from Iraq, Syria, Lebanon and Egypt. The true Palestinians are the Jews. Just check the census records, some of them going back several hundrede years to Ottoman rule. The Jews were always referred to as Palestinians; Arabs were referred to as Arab or as Bedouin. The ersatz "Palestinians" have never invented, discovered or created anything of value to civilization. You stole the Jewish identity as Palestinians. You are parasites and leeches, incapable of anything innovative. What is your legacy? Terror.

This comment of yours is an untimely and totally unnecessary tirade and diatribe . I prefer to refrain from discussing the origins of peoples and who deserves to be called the genuine owner of the land. For long the palestinian problem was ignored by the west until finally,to your surprise, the entire world, including the Jewish State of Israel, and all the international organisations and agencies, started to recognise the palestinian identity and the grievances of the Palestinian arabs in the land between River Jordan and the Mediterranean, regardless of the name( Arabs and Iran still do not agree on the name of the " Gulf " - Arab Gulf or Persian Gulf , while each of them has a long coast along that gulf ).Furthermore, everybody acknowledges the two glorious, magnificent civilizations the Arabs had in Iraq,Mesopotamia,in the east, and in Spain-Andalusia,in the west. Also the Arabs are historically well credited for two famous and decisive battles that changed the course of history : the 1187 Battle of Hittin against the Crusaders in Hittin, safforia(tsipori) in Palestine, and the 1162 Battle of Ai'n Jalout against the Mongols, also in Palestine.Besides, the Arabs made impressive advanced research in mathematics-algebra,chemistry(alchemy) and astronomy in the Middle Ages after they grabbed much of ancient Greek-Hellenic civilization. And talking about inventions, discoveries, and creations, you can not count out the travels and discoveries of Arab Ibn Batuta who preceded, and excelled over, Marco Polo ! There was no need for you to call Arabs or Palestinians bad names simply because foul language reflects very badly on you yourself .You may argue and counter argue intelligently and in a persuasive way, but using bad words should be out of the question. Also, you ask about legacy. You,Jews, survived peresecution everywhere and holocaust in Europe in the 20th century. Arabs boast having been entrusted to carry and deliver the message of Islam,a religion that has spread and flourished worldwide (I'm not religious) . Also, Arabs have survived four centuries of despotic, tyrannical rule by the Ottoman Turks ( 1517-1917) and have reemerged as a newborn, creative, and innovative, affluent nation as facts already prove !
51. Annex Judea Sumeria NOW!
Wahid Ben Moshie ,   Ramallah ,Israel   (05.05.11)
We the Kurdish and Arab residents of Judea Sumeria would vote to become Israelis. We welcome the annexation of Judea Sumeria and demand that Israel disband and deport the terrorist leadership of the PA.No one wants a PA State here except Abass the crime boss of the PA who is starving his people of not just food but freedom.Israel is not problem here in Judea Sumeria it is the sulution to the problems of the Arab and Kurdish residents.

So what is the problem if half of ISRAEL population are MIZRAHIM.At the end of the day we JEWS, ASKHANAZI,MIZRAHIM,or SEPHARDI, are the same brothers & sisters.
55. the arabs want to see which way the wind blows
zionist forever   (05.05.11)
The arabs in Jerusalem know that assuming it comes into being its to early to know how this state will preform at a political or economic level so they keep their options open. Watch how things go for a little while if its a disaster then stick with Israel which will look after them. If it looks like its going to be a political and economic success story ( without the billions the west donates every year ) then they will think about going to the arab state to be amongst their own but for now don't rush because life is much better in Israel than the capital of this virtual palestinian state ( Rammalah )
56. #5 most of Historic Palestine is in Jordan (80%)

so why dont they go there?
57. WHY BE SURPRISED
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (05.05.11)
The fact is if your a secular Arab or a westernized Arab why would you want to ever live under a repressive Arab government. Whether it's Fatah or Hamas, both really don't have freedom. Israel has one of the most respected justice systems in the world. In Gaza you get shot by there religious police, for singing at a wedding. It wasn't long ago, Hamas was throwing Fatah members off rooftops, just about everybody saw those pictures. So much for political freedom. Even the Arabs understand that, heck one out of three Arabs were afraid to answer the questions, why do you think that is? So when asked: "If they preferred to become citizens of Palestine or remain citizens of Israel," "35% declined to answer or said they didn’t know." Now that's intimidation! Typically you might see a small percentage undecided (3%-7%). But this was 35% over one out of three, because their afraid the poll isn't truly anonymous. Then they'll get hurt for saying what they feel, that they want to be Israeli citizens. Terrorism certainly works doesn't it? Even on your own people. It also calls into question that 30% number who say they want to be Palestinians. That might only be half true, we'll never know?

birdi ,   israel   (05.06.11)
so from what i understand is you want the freedom to live anywhere in israel. you dont want to have any of the responsibilities of a citizen of either israel or, what should the make believe country you palestinians wish to create, be called? i suggest you google what it means to be a citizen of a democratic country. we jews also want to live in freedom here in israel. we want to be allowed to enter jericho, bethlehem, etc. we want to be allowed to pray at joseph's tomb without any friction from your people. in order to get, you have to give. drop the hatred, renounce all violence, stop your brothers from bombing southern israel now, then and only then, will we ever have a chance to live in peace and harmony. you on your side, we on our side.
59. For that reason alone
Steve from Raleigh   (05.06.11)
Kick them out. Tell them to take it up with the PLO and the UN hash out. They wanted a state, a Jew free state. They got one. Have a nice day.
