John cone ,   Usa   (05.05.11)
Will bibi have the guts to say know or will he be a mr. Yes Man to Obama .
33. So basically, what he's saying is..
Jewish Warrior   (05.05.11)
The Palestinians will get rewarded for refusing to negotiate.
34. In reality, what would that mean?
Thomas L. ,   San Jose, California   (05.05.11)
Carrying this to the hypothetical conclusion that a Palestinian state was recognized by the major Western powers, what would that mean? Would it validate Palestine eliminating the settlers? What would they do if a war broke put between The Israeli state and the theoretical Palestinian state? The consequences are mind boggling to me. I'd appreciate insight, because my understanding of the situation is barely deeper than a superficial understanding.
35. Backing up arabs has always been English policy
News? ,   IL   (05.05.11)
36. We will now have carte blanche
Madeleine ,   Rehovot Israel   (05.05.11)
Declaring a state unilaterally does not make it a working state. Meanwhile, after the signing of the treaty yesterday between Hamas and the Palis, they can't even agree about anything very much. But if the Palis declare a state, then we can first, stop supplying them with water, electricity or allowing the daily convoys through. Borders will be sealed hermetically, I hope. No Palis coming to Israel to work. Second, rockets fired over the "border" will constitute an act of war and as such we can unleash full scale war on them (not that I, or any other wants war, I'm sure) instead of these little tit for tat sorties. These Brits make me utterly sick, and that is where I came from, 42 years ago, to Israel. Britain is known as the most Islam-friendly and terrorist have among western countries. what an honour!! The Brits mak me sick.
37. UK and France may back the palistinians
Spencer ,   Israel   (05.05.11)
What do you expect from the Brits and the Frogs!!! They are both being overrun by Muslims and well on their way to becoming anoth Muslim State.
38. Ridiculous and unfair condition
Shalom Freedman ,   Jerusalem Israel   (05.05.11)
How can the British Prime Minister say to the Israeli Prime Minister we will support a one- sided declaration if you do not negotiate with those who have just insisted they will not negotiate with you?
39. This is logic!
Paul ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (05.05.11)
The only thing that is logical about British thinking is that they want Israel to give the Arabs everything they want and to hell with the consequences of Israel's future existence. Evil becomes more and more apparent everyday, and it seems that because Israel's existence is at stake, Israel is the only country on earth that doesn't have the luxury of indulging in this tsunami of capitulation to evil. The only question is will Israel's leaders commit the ultimate crime against the Jewish people?
40. Palestine will never become a reality on the ground.
The Swami   (05.05.11)
No matter who or how many nations recognize it.
41. #13 Isn't that the whole idea? Absence of "peace talks" is
Harry Wright ,   UK   (05.05.11)
just a frivolous justification. They don't want to face a "difficult question" because an answer will elude them and they will fail the test because they are dolts. They can't be bothered whether or not this new state recognises Israel. They want to throw their hands up in the air and say they "tried everything" (but only with Israel, not the Pals). They want to toe Abbas line and give him a state for nothing. To them, the "central issue" is recognising "a Palestinian state". Do you think this really has anything to do with "peace talks"? I would certainly say they don't care a damn. Netanyahu needs to tell Cameron and Sarcozy to piss off.
42. UK is a Basket Case
Dallas ,   Canada   (05.05.11)
I have no interest in using London any more as a first stop from North America. It is a foreign culture to me now, and frankly I don't consider the London airports to be safe any more.
43. the british never agreed to the jewish state
ghostq   (05.05.11)
and had from way back than arab side only intrest, they r the one to creat the mess in the first place, I think the last thing anyone should ask for is British distructive foul policy, y do it and the Brits created the refugee camps and now they tell the Israelis what they should do with them that is very nice(cynic) stupidity to the max.
44. whatever
PAL   (05.05.11)
You worry about the ally that harbors your enemy No 1, because you are scared of terror and nuclear terror. And Israel will worry about the Mid East.
45. UK AND FRANCE ARE BLOODY IDIOTS!!
GLENN ,   YUCAIPA,USA   (05.05.11)
47. No access to the West to sort the chaos
Jonny ,   South Africa   (05.05.11)
The convergance of Fath and Hamas will be directly responsible for creating a failed state. How does one reconcile the Hamas stated intention of destroying Israel, with "good neighbourliness". And when chaos erupts, civil war, what then. And it will, given this marriage. One hopes that in the above scenario, Isarel refuses to allow access by the western powers to sort it out.
48. Oslo mean negotiations! no negotiations means WAR!
David   (05.05.11)
OSLO IS DEAD!
49. Camooron
Joe ,   London, UK   (05.05.11)
It's all going well for Israel. Not sure why Bibi is even wasting his time coming to London and Paris. Watch this space as the world will unfold the ruthlessness and soon-to-fall-apart union of the new Hamas/PA. It will be Israel who laughs last as the western world will realise what mugs they are in giving support to a bunch of clowns. Just as the UK etc.. fail to appreciate how impossible it is for the Arab Spring uprising countries to revert from dictatorship to democracy 'just like that', so too will they realise how stupid they have been to side with the hypocrasy of the PA and all they stand for. That unity with Hams will end. Bibi will call the bluff of the PA during the summer months. The PA wont agree and life will go on....without a peace agreement...which will not occur in the lifetime of all those reading this comment!
50. Philistine is Hebrew word for invader! Palestine = INVADIA
Yaniv ,   Israel   (05.05.11)
We will not create a neighbor state called INVADIA and the Invadian people will not receive our land.
51. Mr Cam-moron only good in promote Prince's wedding

54. U.K. & France MAZADA will not foll AGAIN EVER....
Friedrich der Grosse ,   Markel Angela German   (05.05.11)
55. unilateral recognition cant create a peaceful of working st
zionist forever   (05.05.11)
Cameron recognizes a palestinian state declared unilaterally tomorrow so whats next? Recognition won't mean settlemets just close by magic. The UN already considers them illegall so what will change? Does Cameron think Israel is going to hand over the keys to Jerusalem? Israel is not obligated to give them any kind of corridor through its territory connecting this state. Even if Cameron recognize a state in the pre 1967 borders thats not included unless its through Israeli goodwill.. Cameron isn't going to get Abbas his mythical right of retrn. Cameron can't make Israel give the palestinians things like water supplies. Cameron can't stop Israel building the security barrier. Cameron cannot actually create a PEACE process. All thats happened is he gave the a theoretical state unconditionally so why shouldn't the palestinians push for more in future or keep carrying out terror ... I know if I was a member of the palestinian hierarchy I would, I have seen how weak the west is so why not push for more. Once he recognizes a state negotiation in future to make a viable state will not be possible because it will be seen as treason by the palestinian leadership and it will be harder in Israel to get around the right wing. The arabs will have their very own virtual state.
56. Another arab state
IlanaB   (05.05.11)
so, besides the terror regimes already in the area (Libya, Sudan, Lebanon, Syria, Turkey, Bahrain, Saudi Srabia, etc) There will be one more. Only that this one will be born to western european parents. If Hitler's parents had known who their son would be, would they still have had him? UK and France are making that choice today.
57. So what?
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (05.05.11)
Let them. Let's see, each was last tested militarily in the Falklands (U.K.) and in Indochina (France). I just don't see enforcement possibilities here. Neither the U.K. nor France wishes to be painfully humiliated, and that is precisely what would happen. Of course, I think what with this new "unity" government, that the world should rush to recognize an ersatz "Palestinian" state in Gaza. All the ersatz "Palestinians" living in Judea and Samaria are more than welcome to go build their pie-in-the-sky state there; after all, Israel will annex Judea and Samaria and the Arabs living there will have to leave. They want an ersatz "Palestinian" state; they can build their dream in Gaza. Judea, Samaria, Jerusalem -- sorry; that's not an option, no matter who recognizes a "Palestinian" state. Israel should hurry the process along by annexing Judea and Samaria -- I think such an announcement would be a wonderful way to celebrate Yom HaAtzma'ut.
58. IlanaB well said

Brilliant post; thank you.
60. GOD HAS THE FINAL SAY
tony   (05.05.11)
Sarkoxy, Cameron, etc., are mortal beings just like Pharoah and Nebbukednezer. Their breath is in the hands of God. The Almighty God has the final say. But He has warned to whoever will care to listen that He the King of Kings, Lord of Lords and God of Gods will be an enemy to whosoever will be an enemy of Israel, But if thou shalt indeed obey his voice, and do all that I speak; then I will be an enemy unto thine enemies, and an adversary unto thine adversaries. (Exodus 23:22. Let people serve thee, and nations bow down to thee: be lord over thy brethren, and let thy mother's sons bow down to thee: cursed be every one that curseth thee, and blessed be he that blesseth thee (Genesis 27:28-30). Except the scriptures can be broken, it is very very very very very very very very very very impossible for any nation on this mother earth, no matter how powerful, to destroy the nation of Israel. For the earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof. God is faithful, and He keeps to His words.
