1. What kind of aircraft?
Steve ,   USA   (05.06.11)
I hope they've got something better than the crop duster in the photo!LOL Like using an eye-dropper to put out a camp fire. C-130's perhaps? Next article perhaps they can 'elaborate' a bit more.

zionist forever   (05.06.11)
Theses new planes are proper fire fighting aircraft not glorified crop dusters but I do believe Israel also needs something bigger like a C130. The IAF is replacing some of its older C130s so if all they are going to be doing is putting out fires then why not convert at least one of them for fire fighting? Not expensive because the IAF owns the aircraft and they operate the fire fighting squadrons so the only real expense is converting it to a fire fighting aircraft which I cant see as being to expensive
3. AT -802
brian ,   us   (05.06.11)
Although AT -802's work well for initial attack, the Israelis need to add MAFFS systems to three C-130s. Bad choice on relying o Air Tractors exclusively.
4. to #1 They bought Sopwith Camels

and they drop water balloons.
5. AT-802 payload = 4.3 cubes of water

More AT-802s AFTER the Carmel fire? This is simply depressing.
