I've learned to respect Ya'alon's analytic thinking - he is not prone to wishful thinking. By far the worst stance to take in the confrontation with Islam is wishful thinking regarding the nature of possible solutions to the conflict. It would seem safe to conclude that there can be no successful negotiations with a society that has not separated theocratic power and the state especially a theocracy that is dedicated to using violence to attain domination locally and globally.

The fact is we all know what he's says, is absolutely true. Hamas hasn't minced words throughout this whole affair. They won't honor all past agreements, (i.e. rescind the recognition of Israel etc.,) Hamas needs to rearm and fortify it's positions. This is what they have done in the past whenever they agreed to a ceasefire. If you remember Israel caught a Iranian shipment of weapons at sea during one so called ceasefire, proving what Israel had said...at the time...that Hamas was simply using the cessation of Israeli attacks to rearm. This is no different, Hamas is weak now, so the feign a unity government. Their true goal is to takeover the West Bank, that way they can attack from Gaza and the WB at same time. Which they cannot do now. But really because the Arabs want to illegally declare a new Arab entity, they must have a unity government to meet International Law. So that is the number one reason, then Hamas has the other more sinister plans. If the world turns a blind eye to this, it will embolden Hamas, as weakness always does.

The reason that Iran's president still does make speeches at the UN, while calling for the destruction of Israel, is because the reception in this hall of warped justice ressembles that of iran's desperados, iran's thugs, iran's total disregard of world / public opinion; above all the iranians and the UN are made of the same fabric, very compatable with each other when the issue is Israel.

Mr. "10 month freeze" Yaalon, Hamas is in the process of taking over the "West Bank" and now has active support of the Muslim Brotherhood of Egyp and Fatah cooperation and complicity in thist. Take your head out of the sand, sir. If you want to lie to yourself, fine. But don't lie and deceive the patriotic public.

Its diatribe is somewhat of a dark and lost dybbuk thats curious of being healed but doesn't understand some core fundamentals beyond fixing the bank of Dubai.
