Too bad.....

It was amazing. The minute word got spread around - countless Israelis came to the hotel where the new olim were staying. They were bringing clothes, household goods. After school day was over - children came - often riding their bikes and teaching their new friends how to ride them. It was one of the most memorable day of my life.

That's nice, I would have liked to have been there to see that.

The immigration from Ethiopia is far from over. Each year thousands keep on coming in an endless process of family unification. When people from a poor country can immigrate to a richer, more developed country, provided they are Jews, it turns out everyone is a Jew. Israel should start thinking about the burden that such an immigration put on the country.

How dare you speak like that about Ethiopian Jews? Who amongst us walked across the desert to reach Zion, leaving our villages and all that is familiar behind? Who amongst us would rather suffer countless discriminations than dream of leaving the only country we call our home?

King Solomon would be proud indeed. Congratulations.
