1. 10,000 people living in one tower=FAIL
Kyle ,   Southpark, CO, USA   (05.09.11)

2. This guy is a lost cause
Rachel ,   US   (05.09.11)
Please retire already.
3. What's wrong # 1 Kyle
Rachel ,   US   (05.09.11)
You don't think that would be cozy?
4. Never again tolerate secret talks.
Chaim ,   Israel   (05.09.11)
There is no excuse for the Israeli government to conduct talks, with our enemies, behind our backs. It is undemocratic and despicable in every way. History proves the reason talks are kept secret is because Israeli politicians, engaging in them, make lunatic concessions, which they know the vast majority of Israelis reject. Never again tolerate secret talks. Any Israeli politician who enages in them should suffer serious legal consequences.
5. Ethical People Don't Talk or Make Agreements with Terrorists
Linda Rivera ,   New York, USA   (05.09.11)
Everyone knows terrorists LIE, deceive, commit atrocities and Mass Murder.
6. And Hamas is smiling
k ,   US   (05.09.11)
Once you give into Hamas You give into the destruction of Israel
7. Does Hamas really feel like talking anymore?
Mark   (05.09.11)
It seems that the Palestinians already have the world on their side. Why would they want to talk? The UN is already going to roll back the borders to 1966, and then some. Too late for talk when the world is al;ready guaranteeing peace, independence, and a home.
8. Whats it got to do with the US or anyone else anyway?
Rm ,   Cambridge Uk   (05.09.11)
Brilliant idea ! Make a plan without any other country interfering. When will this happen. Very soon I hope.
9. Shimon Peres
Abraham Nachmias ,   Petach Tikva IL   (05.09.11)
He thinks different from 87% of Am Israel! He is not to be the President of Israel, he still doesn't accept his failures. What a sad person!
10. Without risk there is no peace
Mark Jeffery Koch ,   Cherry Hill, NJ USA   (05.09.11)
Israel lost more than 10,000 soldiers in the 1973 Yom Kippur War, equivalent to what America lost in World War II but yet Israel made peace with Egypt and despite Syria's shipping 50,000 missiles to Hezbollah that can reach most Israeli cities the current Israeli government and all prior Israeli governments have offered the Syrians the entire Golan back for peace. You make peace with your enemies, not your friends. The IRA murdered hundreds of people with their bombings but yet there is now peace between them and the U.K.. Israel needs to try whatever it can to reach peace and peace does not always come from planes dropping bombs or tanks firing missiles. It comes from leaders who have a vision for the future, and not with leaders like Netanyahu whose main concern is staying in power, not the future generations of Israel. If Israel can make peace with countries that are responsible for the deaths of thousands of their soldiers and for the wounding of tens of thousands of their young soldiers then it can make peace with a group that has no tanks, no airplanes, no armored personnel carriers, and nothing but a failed ideology.
11. It's the "New Middle East" all over again, in his mind.
Noodles ,   Coney Island   (05.09.11)
12. NO MORE SECRET TALKS!
Sandra ,   NYC   (05.09.11)
What have secret talks brought besides death and destruction??? It's time to forget about trying to make a deal with those who send suicide bombers. Shimon Peres should know more than anyone that the earlier talks brought death to Israelis, not peace. Israel can't make peace with those who have sworn to kill Israel. Peace won't be achieved by spending 100 years talking uselessly to enemies. Israel must win the war - it's the only way to end the problems with Palestinian terrorists.
13. Moshe Dayan said it
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (05.09.11)
"If you want to make peace, you don't talk to your friends, You talk to your enemies"
14. #10 - Risks don't bring a lasting peace.
Sandra ,   NYC   (05.09.11)
The peace with Egypt was only good as long as Hosni Mubarak was in charge. Bringing up Egypt is the last thing you want to do right now when it's a reminder that there's no such thing as a permanent peace. There is only peace with individuals in the Arab countries, not nations. The war against terrorism must be finished. This is the only way to stop the Palestinian terrorists for good.
15. You guys are totally missing the point
Kyle ,   Southpark, CO, USA   (05.09.11)
It doesn't matter how badly you want to talk to Hamas. Hamas doesn't want to talk to you! (Except to reiterate the same demands for total surrender)
16. #13 the fake Sarah
Kyle ,   Southpark, CO, USA   (05.09.11)
What does that stupid slogan even mean?
17. secret talks
Sarah ,   Jerusalem Israel   (05.09.11)
Oh no! This is what got us the Oslo War, countless terror attacks, thousands wounded, hundreds dead. Never again, Peres, and never with the genocidal Hamas. With all due respect to Sarah B, meaningful talk takes two parties with the same intention---not talk for the sake of talking, and not talk with a terror entity that lies to gain a strategic advantage.
18. #10 YOU TALK NONSENSE
LAWRENCE ,   SAFED ISRAEL   (05.09.11)
Dear Mark , Israel did NOT lose more than 10,000 soldiers in the 1973 Yom Kippur War .It lost less than 3000 .And you have no right to advocate taking risks when you live in Cherry Hill NJ USA .So give it a rest.
19. War has many stages.
Simon ,   Lakeland USA   (05.09.11)
As Spinoza stated the absence of war is not peace. My father who faught in the 1956 War, you do not make peace with your enemy, you make peace with your former enemy. Read the Hamas charter and then we can talk.
20. very true and wise words...
eporue ,   europe   (05.09.11)
21. to#10 The Pals have no Planes or tanks, they have ...
ari ,   Romania Israel   (05.09.11)
suicide bombers
22. #7 Mark. Another fictional "Palestinian" declaration.
Chaim ,   Israel   (05.10.11)
#7 Mark. In your fantasies, the U.N. will force Israel to abandon our land. However, in the real world, the U.N. has no power to do anything. Even in theory, U.N. resolutions are nonbinding. The U.N. has passed hundreds of Israel bashing resolutions while Israel grows stronger, richer and more wonderful every year. In September, "Palestinian" poseurs will suffer another humiliating defeat if they declare fictional statehood. They couldn't make a state when there were only 300,000 Jews in Judea and Samaria. Today there is a fast growing Jewish community of 700,000 in Judea and Samaria, including Jerusalem. Further declarations of "Palestinian" statehood will bring only yawns and laughter.
23. why SECRET talks ?
eporue ,   europe   (05.10.11)
not secret... meet in ...err... umm... what is left ? ankara ? or amman or ramallah... why should the talks be secret ? be brave...
24. Talk of a Deranged Lunatic!
Josh Ebert ,   Chicago, IL   (05.10.11)
I cannot believe that after all these years and thousands of dead men, women, and children, that this nut still has the Chutzpa to talk such drivel. The PA is not Hamas, and that is why there was a split, because although the Fatah pretends to be moderate, Hamas does not pretend to be moderate and openly acts in the interests of Iran! This lunacy is equivalent to saying that the US should negotiate with Al Qaida. Maybe they will moderately cut heads off! How about going into Gaza and cleaning it out properly of Hamas, in spite of the amount of terrorists that will need to be killed? How about resettling Gaza as a message to the terrorists, that: “if you attack us after we cede land, you will then lose it for good!”
25. The alte kakker has learned nothing; keep Peres out of talks
Dr. L. Brnd ,   San Diego, USA   (05.10.11)
Peres, the most distrusted politician in Israeli history, is in the exact, right job - a ceremonial one with no authority. A diehard socialist autocrat at heart, he doesn't see the contradiction of end-running democracy with "secret talks", and worse yet, he still hasn't recognized that the tactical and strategic errors of Oslo occurred because nobody with any expertise was looking over his shoulder, Peres thought he knew it all!!! But there was no EXIT CLAUSE - a must in every negotiated deal - if the PLO cheated on non-violence, which they did almost immediately. The PLO leadership should have been sent back to Tunis with their first Intifada. Expanding Jerusalem "upward", not Eastward??? He doesn't get that the purpose of Jerusalem expanded and united under Israelik rule isn't space, its to prevent kassams from falling on the Kotel and Ben Yehuda Street!!! And most incredibly, in the Peres fantasy world, Abbas and his Palestinians "of course" realize Israel will never accept their "Right of Return. But Peres never thought to get this in writing, and they have taken a hard line on demanding it and rejecting Obama's "2-states-for-2-peoples" - which you'll notice, he never uses anymore, because Abbas doesn't like it (and there's no penalty to continuing to demand the crazy RoR, thanks to the blundering Peres). Insisting on abandonment of the RoR at the outset would have forced Arafat and Abbas to prepare their people for accepting the Jewish State of Israel, which they have never even begun to do, thanks to Peres shortsightedness - in "secret talks". Peres didn't think it important. This clown should stay bottled up in a powerless ceremonial position until he dies, its the only safe thing to do.
26. Peres speaks his own thoughts
J ,   SA/TX   (05.10.11)
27. Moshe Dayan said it............?
Alex ,   USA   (05.10.11)
I fought in 1948, defending a kibbutz, and served the IDF in 1956. What Moshe Dayan said in my presents was: We have to show strength, because it's the only thing the Arabs respect. Sadly Shimon Peres nativity very harmful to Israel, and Hamas is laughing of the present leaders lack of willingness to act forcefully. .
28. Peres has been talking for years
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (05.10.11)
all that we have gotten from his endless posturing is a headache Enough already, retire to a Beit Avot
29. #10 Mark J. Koch
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (05.10.11)
Israel tried to make peace, for the most part it was ignored Egypt made a peace of sorts because she had been beaten so badly she had no other choice, at present, Egypt is doing her utmost ro back out of the peace agreement Jordan made peace because she also had no choice, she kept on losing all the wars she got herself involved in Israel gave Gaza to the Arabs, rocket fire intensified I suggest that you read BOTH the PLO Charter & the Hamas Covenant, both calling for the destruction of Israel Although Arafat at Oslo, pledged IN WRITING, to remove that very clause, it remains to this day Every leader wants to stay in power, including Obama and those that preceded him IRA may have murdered hundreds, Arabs have outdone the IRA, they have managed to kill thousands You're asking that Israel make peace, meanwhile all the Arabs are engaged in killing each other It most be rather convenient, your sitting safely in the USA, taking your valuable time to Pontificate, tell us what to do and how to do it
30. #13 Sarah B. - Dayan wasn't infallible
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (05.10.11)
He also let the WAQF administer Our Temple Mount after the 1967 war, a rather whopping mistake, from which the Arabs have been busily removing all the vestiges of our Jewish History, which they have carted off into the desert and dumped as trash Ariel Sharon went to the Temple Mount, riots ensued Dayan was a great soldier, just a lousy politician who should have stayed with what he knew best, military stuff
