1. Barak Speech
(05.11.11)
Is any thinking person suppose to be excited from Barak's speech. It's the same old double talk we've been hearing for years. What really is depressing, is that Barak thinks we believe what he says.
2. We have found Shimon Peres' successor
adam eliyahu   (05.11.11)
He is able to lie, use conflicting statements in the same sentence, entirely ignore present reality (Hamas and Fatah are now one), and remain with an agenda that is both unpopular and unrealistic. This entire list of his is exactly what he offered Arafat at Camp David, incuding right of return, even if it couched in different llanguage. Unfortuanately, since this is Israel, it assures Barak a fat salary and public position until he is 87 years old. The good die young. Because of left-wing jerks like this.
3. A plan? This is a defeat not a plan.....
Lior ,   Israel   (05.11.11)
4. Why does Barak's plans always involve Israel bending over
Lior ,   Israel   (05.11.11)
5. There was no 'their land' before 1967
BH ,   Iowa   (05.11.11)
There never was. J&S were occupied by Jordan from 1948-1967. How can a Defense Minister not know the most basic history of his country?
6. The Palestinians had no land before '67
Eric ,   Tel Aviv & NY   (05.11.11)
Even Barak is falling for the Palestinian propaganda Before '67 the land was Jordan or Egypt. Before '48 the land was British Mandate. Before 1918 the land was Ottoman, before 1516 the land went back and forth between the The Ayyubid Sultanate, founded by Saladin; the Mamluk Sultanate of Egypt; and Mamluk Burji. Before that it belonged to The Crusades, etc. At no point was there anyone call Palestinians running this land, in fact the name was used by the Romans to punish the Jews who lived there at the time. GLENN ,   YUCAIPA,USA   (05.11.11)
11. Nice plan
Aaron ,   Singapore   (05.11.11)
save the fact that Palestinians have rejected all these points time and again. What's going to make this time any different?
12. Arab Jew (Mizrahi): one leg in Israel, another in Palestine

13. Nothing new
Golani ,   Israel   (05.11.11)
Is that not not what we have been asking for the last 63 years?
14. That is why!!!!!!
Harry ,   Jerusalem   (05.11.11)
The State of Israel is a FAILURE and a disappointment to the Jewish people. It is there stupidity & blindness that brought us todays situation. What insane statement "their land" The situation will continue & get worse, as long as this Israeli government, all before & all who follow the same self destructive path of denying us, the Jewish people, our homeland, The Land Of Israel. These people, should have stuck to their original plan of creating a State in Uganda. Secular, no God to interfere, no Jews. What a Hell of a Independence.........
15. @ Glenn Barak has a stronger spine than most
Stephen JF ,   London, UK   (05.11.11)
Never forget that Ehud Barak is Israel's most decorated soldier, with a particularly remarkable record of gallantry as a special forces officer. His successful attack on the Black September leader in Beirut, while disguised in women's clothing was just one of his extraordinary exploits.
16. if
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (05.11.11)
Barak is not the sharpest knife. If Israel is so strong, why was Barak powerless to save Madhat Yussuf and Gilad Shalit? If Israel is so strong, why did Israel lose the Second Lebanon War and Cast Lead? If Israel is so strong, why is the IDF powerless to stop rocket attacks on population centers? Israel was strong in 1992, but since then has become dangerously weak. The only problem is that Netanyahu is stupid enough to believe Barak.
17. to #15, peres and barak are two village jokers
Moshe ,   Netanya   (05.11.11)
I agree with you on one point. Barak, like Sharon, was brave even braver than Muhamadd Ali. But what makes him a leader or anything else now? His goal is to get into next Knesset and nothing else. Why should we pay for his jokes?
18. Barak
jim Brown ,   TN USA   (05.11.11)
Barak is just telling us what Bibi will say at his meeting in the US. Barak and Bibi are clones.
19. This is meant to gauge your reactions. What will you do?
Marcella   (05.11.11)
If Israelis do nothing but grumble, that means the government can go ahead with this plan. On February 23 the government instructed the coalition to vote against a National Union bill for the annexation of the land. Only four NU MKs voted in favor. And the country remained silent. In view of such indifference, the government's next move was this plan for surrender with a deceptive "security" fig leaf on it. THIS IS YOUR CHANCE, Israelis, to make your feelings known in a most unequivocal manner. You know that if the country gets any smaller it will be impossible to defend it. Nukes are of no use when fighting snipers and terrorists. And neither are guns in urban settings when your IDF is under the watchful eyes of IDF lawyers and the UN. If you allow the partition of your country, you'll eventually lose all of Israel.
20. People, this is not Barak's plan. It is Netanyahu's
Marcella   (05.11.11)
Barak is only a minister. Netanyahu is the PM and he has been pursuing the creation of an Arab state since day one, before there was even a hint of pressure from the USA. He is the creator of this plan. The Prime Minister's responsibility is only second to that of the people of Israel, who have ultimate responsibility. It's up to you whether he is allowed to surrender your land..
21. I blame Bibi
Rachel ,   US   (05.11.11)
He is a spineless failure. I wish he stayed on the speech circuit. At least with Olmert you knew what you were getting. Bibi was supposed to defend Israel but he sells her out.
22. No Israel
Jones ,   Bahrain   (05.11.11)
There was NO ISRAEL before 1948. There still is no LEGAL Israel. Check your historical records on the Balfour arrangement.
23. We already saw the results of his first plan
David M.   (05.11.11)
Israel may be the strongest nation in the area and it would win another conflict, but at what cost? Every stupid move by Barak has resulted in many lives being lost. If this plan were to be carried out, it would only embolden the Arab extremist to go for it all and to make lives of Israelis unbearable. And what will happen if Egypt abrogates the peace treaty and moves its army into Sinai? Where the rest of the Arab world will end up in a year or two is an enigma only to the delusional leftists.
24. Silence is better
Brod ,   USA   (05.11.11)
It would be well for Israel for Barak to shut his mouth instead of preempting Israel. You give the enemy an inch, they want a mile. You give them a mile, they want the whole Land of Israel. Israel must remain strong in the face of the Tsunami of the dark forces led by Satan. Let the GOD of Israel defeat the god of the dark forces.
25. ehud The Piss Boy
jim Snitts ,   Treadway, USA   (05.11.11)
carries the water for the arabian / mushlum enemies..... leftarded stupidity somehow still gets into the highest echelons of government
26. Even without reading any responses.Barak is once again>
James ,   ISRAEL   (05.11.11)
Once again selling the country down the river..This paragraph is shocking if I mistake me not. i.e A permanent border set according to security and demography concerns in a manner in which settlement blocs and neighborhoods in Jerusalem remain under Israeli sovereignty, and land exchanges that will leave in the hands of the Palestinians territory similar to that which was their land before '67, Waaat?? (similar to that which was their land before ' 67).??
27. Marcella..In that case time for Barak to get out and
KATE ,   ISRAEL   (05.11.11)
And hang up his boots. He is a laborite..BB should dismiss him from his cabinet..If it falls on Barak he like before is ready to surrender all of Israel..What a fool.. Now the Israeli electorate to make their voices heard in no uncertain ways.. Get rid of Barak and ilk... The only one with cojones is Lieberman who would not GIVE AN INCH a true fearless patriot . At this rate unless BB gets tough and not give in to the Hyenas (fatah & the biggest HYENA Hamas) Then Lieberman will become PM and Israel will be safe..There now...
28. Some people have memories that
Gideon Reader ,   USA   (05.11.11)
are longer than a Laborous Laborite seeking return. Barak (the Intellectually Inconsequentia)l has already presented ALL of this shtick & muck before directly to Yassir (the Sheep Molester) Arafat was wintessed by Bill Clinton. Results was more death, injuries, damage and refusal. Who can forget the playfull Ehud mock wrresteling with Yaz as Bill holds open a door. Ahhh. those carfree joyful days of yesteryear. Same crap, ONE MORE TIME. Split screen: Flash forward to now. Atzmaut my kiester. More Hope and Change BEE ESS of the leftist kind. Maybe Barak can get some koshering from ZerObama or maybe Motti Vanunu. Hozabout an arm around the shoulders pic of Abu Boo Boo and "Huddy". Yeah. That will convince the masses.
29. #27 KATE....how apropos...Hyenas...very novel...LOL.
Noodles ,   Coney Island   (05.11.11)
30. #27 Kate
Marcella   (05.11.11)
Yisrael Beitenu - Lieberman's party - also supports the partition of Israel, with the WB Arabs keeping their towns and the Jews theirs. I like Lieberman, and there are good reasons for not wanting to increase the Arab population in Israel. The problem, though, is that both Lieberman's and Bibi-Barak's solutions would shrink Israel and do nothing to mitigate Arab grievances. The Arabs would continue to make demands with a growing chorus of supporters in the EU and the UN. This could get serious if the UN decides to intervene militarily on behalf of the Arabs. (Check UN General Assembly Resolution 377.) Although imperfect, the best solution is the annexation of all of Judea, Samaria and Jerusalem, with the option of citizenship for those Arabs who are willing to swear full allegiance to the Jewish state of Israel. Those who refuse can be given financial assistance to relocate abroad. The truth is that no solution is completely safe for Israel. But while there should be no compromise regarding land and sovereignty, Israel has options for reaching a compromise on other issues. It's too bad that Jordan has never been included as part of the solution.
