31. #7 - so where are the large piles of dead bodies?
William ,   Israel   (05.15.11)
Thousands in Libya are dead, Syrians killed almost 900, and during riots in Israel maybe 1 is killed after protesters use violence. Sad - Israel is the only one you care to comment on, meaning, you probably consider Arab civilian lives as expendable, just like Arab leaders do. Hmmm.
32. #10 - let's start a Facebook page and several marches
William ,   Israel   (05.15.11)
Since the Jewish "nakba" was on-going for many years of racist Arab actions, we could have a march almost every day. But who has the time when we're trying to create things for the world and build a State, huh? Let's pick a day and have massive marches, in border towns, to settlements, to Hebron and Jerusalem where we were ethnically cleansed from, and on UN offices. I love the idea!
33. #21 - but genocide ISN'T a human right...
William ,   Israel   (05.15.11)
and since you lost the war (many) and refused the option to return because it meant living under Israeli rule, you essentially (and legally) negated ROR. Enjoy your life in the "refugee camp" called Ramallah.
34. #11 - That's EXACTLY what Nakba is all about
William ,   Israel   (05.15.11)
Not about the imagined "ethnic cleansing" since most Arabs never even saw an IDF soldier before they took off running.... and not about the actual birth of Israel, where many Arabs stayed and prospered as equal citizens. It's all about the emasculation action of losing a war against under-trained and under-armed Jews by Arabs. Every day Israel exists it reminds Arabs how they are failures and due to emotionally-inept psyche, they can't move forward until they succeed in their genocidal plans.
35. #15 - ok, then Egypt will be complicit to Hamas crimes
William ,   Israel   (05.15.11)
36. the fourth largest religion in the region
zionist forever   (05.15.11)
Judaism, Christianity, Islam and now Nakba the fourth largest religion in the Middle East. There are so many people involved and they have been at it for generations anybody would think this nakba nonsense is a religion, When they are celebrating the arabs don't make this same kind of effort as they do when they mourn the creation of Israel. Even on global Holocaust memorial day the Jews don't go marching in streets condemn the fact Germany still exists and moaning about the fact that Jews lost their property in the war. The arabs are like children having a tantrum. Even if we crate a palestinian state these events are not going to stop and I think the thing to mourn over is the fact the arabs are obsessed with the fact their grandparents and great grandparents became war refugees. As for the Nakba bill, that doesn't ban the from holding their pathetic events it means that the taxpayers won't pick up the tab. They want to hold these events let them pay for it themselves The supporters of Gilad Shalit don't get state funding when they demonstrate. Neither right or left wing political protestors get any state funding Holocaust survivors don't get state funding when they hold a demonstration. If nobody else gets state funding even when their protests are very reasonable if not moral why the hell should the arabs get tax money to mourn the creation of a country they want to be citizens of and enjoy the benefits which that brings. The Nakba bill is adjusting a mistake that was made decades ago by allowing the use of state funds for nakba events.
37. Prepare away.
Ypip ,   Canada   (05.15.11)
38. #21. Wrong! "LOL" is a human right
Dan the Jafa ,   Auckland,New Zealand   (05.15.11)
"ROR" is a scam. I agree that you have a right to return where you came from (Jordan), but Jordanians seem to disagree.
40. Is there anybody else besides me....
Malone ,   Hfx   (05.15.11)
....that is sick to death about the constant protesting, whining of the arabs? I am sooooooo tired of them.
41. jewish Mandate stretches to Jordan
David ,   USA   (05.15.11)
The U.N. in 1919 allocated land from Israel up to and including Jordan and Syria. The British colonialists were supposed to divide it asmandated but they took it upon themselves as an imperialist power to by-pass the UN to carve out rinky-dink countries, likw Jorda, Syria, Iraq because they loved the Arabs and their oil more. So, the real "Naqba" is for the Jews because they were cheated out of their land when there were no Arabs . The Arabs were Bedouin homeless nomads who came from the desert and roamed to Israel proper , for a better life. They were running away from harsh treatment by their Arab task-masters. ... just as is happening today. REad the facts, spelled out in detail in the documented book "From Time Immemorial". So, don't cry for stealing & usurping land that belonged to the Jews.
42. Right of return, #21
Standing Tall ,   USA   (05.15.11)
Yes I agree with you, Nour, it is a human right. As soon as I hear you stand up for the 1 million Jewish refugees (there would have been more but some of them were murdered), I will support your right of return. Until your hypocrisy stops, you're just another antisemite. Yes, antisemitism refers to Jews, not Arabs. I don't want to hear that lame argument either.
43. @21, Nour
NilsG ,   Helsingborg, Sweden   (05.15.11)
You claim the right of return. My friend H fled what became Chekoslovakia, then the Chek republic in 1938 - his family that stayed were murdered. Does he have the right to return? His sons? His grandsons? No, I don't think so. You, however, claim this as a "human right". Why you, if noone else?
44. #6 abdallah
Daniela   (05.15.11)
this land was never yours, the palestinian state never existed. you belong to the arab world, which is big enough for nall of you. Israel is not a part of the arab world, Israel is JEWISH.
45. to all the arabs arriving to the borders with Israel
daniela   (05.15.11)
listen to me, your palestinians brothers are not in your situation. They live in a democratic country, they enjoy freedom of speech, they have all the right of any israeli citizen. They have work , THANKS TO THE ISRAELIS, and a salary, they live in a paradise called Israel. The only problem they have is that this country is not called palestine, except, this I don't see any problem. If this country will be palestine i'm sure that it will look like like one of your countries, with a high rate of unemployment, ruled by an islamic dictator like nasrallah, islamic terrorist gropu everywhere, it will be a miserable poor country. By the way, if (G-d Forbid) Israel desappears, the land will not remain in palestinians hands, all the muslims countries will fight to get it. In short palestine will never exist.
46. Palestinian Demonstrations against the Illegal Occupation
Alex Weiss   (05.15.11)
The Palestinians are right to feel aggrieved, they've had their land stolen from them in the interests of American and Eastern European economic migrants. If the third intifada kicks off, then the Israelis only have themselves to blame.
47. #46 As William says at #30 - Where's the deed?
(05.15.11)
What land is theirs??? You seem to conveniently forget that ownership of land is something that needs to be proven. Just because you have swallowed the arabs endless bleats that its "their land" - doesn't means that its true. ...Or is it because when it comes to Jews it doesn't matter??? Assholes like you like to forget or completely ignore the thousands of dis-possessed Jews who over decades have been kicked out of neighboring arab countries...they're even kicking out Christians too... So also this infantile call for Jews to "return to Europe" is not accurate either.
48. @46 Alex Weiss
Rick ,   Florida   (05.15.11)
What illegal occupation? What economic migrants? Are you delusional or what? Israel is a Jewish state and I haven't heard of a nation being under "illegal occupation" by its own people. Oh right, North America, South America, Australia and NZ are all under European occupation. I'm pretty sure English, Spanish, and Portuguese aren't the original languages of the original settlers of those land.
49. Right to Return
Moshe L ,   Jerusalem   (05.15.11)
Those of you who think you have a right to return. Why did you run away in the first place, you were welcome to live in peace in the Jewish homeland? But NO when the Jewish state was born you decided to start war with us and others ran away like you. If you want a home look towards Jordan which is the homeland of the Palestinians, or you have other choices. Jerusalem is the holy city for the Jews; Mecca is the holy city for Muslims. How can we let you live with us when you have blood on your hands. How can we let you live with us when you use your children to kill innocent Jews. How can we let you live with us when you break into our homes at night and kill our small children and there families. How can we let you come and live with us when you celebrate on the streets with sweets and dancing when you kill our innocent people? How can we let you live with us when you don’t want peace with us.
50. Sweden 12 Points
Mark ,   Jerusalem   (05.15.11)
Israel gave Sweden 12 points last night in the Eurovision, a Palestinian, are we crazy, no we are not as it was a very good song, all Israel wants is peace with their neighbors.
51. they are mourning because
kristen   (05.15.11)

52. Nakba= Arabs occupying Israel.
josi ,   Norway   (05.15.11)
Palestinians?noway, they are arabs occupying Israel for hundreds of years,if they want to live in peace with Israel they can stay, if not they can leave Israel
53. #46: Arabs were never kicked out of their houses
learn history   (05.15.11)
The "Nakba" of the Arabs started much earlier than 1948. It started when Zionism was formed in the second half of the 19th century and Jews from eastern Europe started to buy lands in the Ottoman empire and settle there. There were Arabs living in that part of the world too (as well as Jews and others) but it wasn't their land. They were residents of this part of the Ottoman empire which was as a whole pretty deserted and neglected. Most of the land was unpopulated wilderness (check out Mark Twain's report for instance). The Jews didn't kick any Arab from his or her house. They bought lands and started working the land, fighting malaria and building towns and villages. Unlike the Arabs who lived for 400 years under Ottoman rule without any national aspirations, the Jews viewed this land as their ancient homeland and worked politicaly and financially to form a Jewish state on the land. No one kicked anyone out of their houses. The Arabs objected to the idea of the Jews having a state on part of the land, objected to the UN partition plan and started a war agains the 600,000 Jews who lived in Palestine in 1948 with the aim of driving all the Jews out of the land and have it all to themselves. During that war many Arabs fled their houses out of fear and because their leaders advised them to do so. The Arabs who stayed live today in their houses in Haifa. Jaffa etc. Israel, luckily, won the war and the Arabs continue to whine that they haven't succeeded to massacre all the Jews and/or drive them out. The Arabs who fled in 1948 who were a few hundred thousands have millions of descendants now. Israel cannot afford to let millions of Arabs to become its citizens because that will be the end of it. Therefore, the right of return is irrelevant. The Arabs' unwillingness to except a partition of the land is what cause their "nakba". It also cost Israel the lives of tens of thousands of young soldiers lives and thousands others killed in terror acts.
54. More proof that there is no "Arab Spring"
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (05.15.11)
Instead of lifting their sorry butts out of the ashes of brutal Arab dictatorships, our cousins are back at it again - bashing those "Zionists" who are the source of all their evil, poverty, depression, repression, and oppression. Yes, if it wasn't for those evil Zionists, Arabs everywhere would have freedom and liberty and prosperity. And yea, I'm being very very very sarcastic. There is no "arab spring". The Arabs continue to oppress themselves and stab each other in the back as they climb over their neighbors' bodies to reach the top of the heap and iron-fisted control over their countries.
55. there is no ppppppalestine
lol   (05.15.11)
don't even have the consonant "p" in their langhuage so why do we still believe it's their land???? the british empire gave that name to israel. and it's a fact. go to old books. WHY there is'nt a single book before 1948 talking about the palestinian people????? just because it's all a fraun!!!!!!!
56. to Abdalla.. THEN GO HOME TO JORDAN!!!
David ,   Haifa, Israel   (05.15.11)
57. Thank you, Ynet.
Salma ,   Palestine   (05.15.11)
58. Israel allows to be put in the corner
Dr.Meyer ,   Germany   (05.15.11)
After the 2 Worldwar we have 50 million refugees. Germany alone absorbed 16 million refugees. As a result of world war we get many changes At that time there were only o.8 million Palestinians refugees. Is also the only problem remaining. To return evrybody is not possible and not realistic .The fact that 19 Arab countrys ,they call themself brothers, was not ready to integrate the Palestinians refugees is outrageous.
59. lol the other arab states try to get rid of palis
ghostq   (05.15.11)

60. ...
Alex ,   California, USA   (05.15.11)
One could say the same thing about Israel's leadership. No, the Middle-East isn't perfect - far from it. However, it's not just their own faults - Western interference has had a huge part to play - take Iran, for example. Israel is just another Middle-Eastern "democracy". Or, is using children as human shields a mark of a civilized state to you? Seems like white privilege that people like you will give them a free pass, while if the opposite happened you'd be railing against it.
