2. She's really cute
Salma ,   Palestine   (05.16.11)
She reminds me of my father.
3. Yada Yada Yada.....
David ,   Israel   (05.16.11)
Like we were ever the darlings of the UN. These leftist losers can't admit that their Oslo debacle and the Gaza "disengagement" has brought nothing but problems for Israel. Even if this were not the case, no one in the civilized world thinks of the UN as anything more than a clubhouse for dictators to cover each other's crimes by pointing at Israel. Add that the the fact that the UN is corrupt, useless, and inept and it all adds up to the same: who gives a rat's butt what the UN thinks about us.
4. TAKE VERY CAREFUL NOTE..........
Reuven ,   Petach Tikvah   (05.16.11)
...........Professor Shamir has hit the nail on the head - there is nothing more to add. "Israel must be more active in the political arena as an initiator, rather than observing and saying, 'All of these developments prove what we've been saying all along'," Tel Aviv University's Prof. Shimon Shamir said.
5. UN is a cesspit
Adam ,   Golan Heights Israel   (05.16.11)
I wish I knew why we feel this grovelling need to be part of a club whose sole purpose these days is to be a rubber stamp for the subjugation of the human race to the death cult, and to facilitate the arab goal of finishing the job their erstwhile ally hitler started against us.
6. I say it's dark outside
Talula ,   Israel   (05.16.11)
We all know it isn't. We don't have to listen or do what the UN tells us to. If we'd have listened to them, we'd be knee deep in camel crap.
7. We did this to ourselves.
Terry ,   Eilat - Israel   (05.16.11)
No need to whine about the UN. No need to whine about the EU. Similarly, it's pointless to complain about American foreign policy. No, the blame is much closer to home. It lies with our idiot political class, our equally idiot media, our moron ''intellectuals'' & screwy academics. It lies with an easily manipulated public, an uninformed public, a public that accepts mediocre leaders, a public that is complacent, that endulges in wishful thinking, that swallows BS whole. Very soon, Netanyahu will address the US Congress. You can be sure he will undermine our supporters in Congress. He won't say that we will no longer cooperate in our own destruction. No, he'll babble on about ''peace'' ............ Blah, blah, blah, two-states, blah, blah, blah, peace, blah, blah, blah, negotiations, blah, blah, blah ........ BS, BS, BS, blah, blah, blah.
8. The Muslim-Arabs, local and regional, have never accepted
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (05.16.11)
Israel's legitimacy and have always attempted to eliminate it. Now they have chosen the UN - not unlike the days of "Zionism is Racism" resolution - to stir matters further by way of demonize the nation-state of the Jewish people, to de-humanize its people and its leaders, and to de-legitimize it. Will the enlightened world stand by and let this evil act continue, since "the show must go on"? Will the EU and other liberal democracies be silent? Will the US lead by B.H.Obama continue to blame the Jews and Israel?
9. israel at low or america at low
moron ,   galut   (05.16.11)
UN is a dictator's club...period
10. @2 Salma - She's Right
Dallas ,   Canada   (05.16.11)
Time for the world to clearly understand what this phony "peace" process is, anyone who is not blinded by anti-Israel bias can see through this charade. The West should stop being dupes to the Big Lie, act accordingly and stop funding such an outrage.
11. Quit The UN
Reuven Brauner ,   Raanana, Israel   (05.16.11)
Israel should resign from the U.N. It has no place among the anti-Semites of the world. We fool ourselves into wanting to be like every other nation and that we have to be accepted by all the nations of the world on their terms. This desire to "be like everyone else" is a form of national assimilation which runs contrary to our mission as the Holy Nation of Israel committed to G-d's Torah and His commandments. Albeit we want peace with everyone and are intent on cooperation, this is only true when the world wants the same. Otherwise, we are hated and pressured to compromise. We are destined to be separate and different, and our participation in the lion's den called the United Nations serves no purpose towards our goal.
12. The effect of the growth of Muslim population
AFRIED ,   USA   (05.16.11)
Cast lead was simply an excuse. The deterioration of Israel in the world community is more a result of growing influence of the growing Muslim population around the world than anything Israel has done. It has politicians saying things to garner votes. After a while the politicians and citizens start believing the rubish. In the end Israel will have a harder tomorrow and Europe may have no tomorrow at all.
13. to Salma/Tel Aviv
Moshe ,   Netanya   (05.16.11)
You have a point.
14. we all understand
gdfathermax ,   tel aviv israel   (05.16.11)
that the world has been sold a big lie, it is partly our own fault. we allow anti iraeli lefty jews to create the agenda with their lying pali friends. the world sees jews critizising israel and says well it.s ok to do the same when jews themselves do it, we must stand strong and say no palestine state, no business with those who hate us and no to our so called erstwhile friends,
15. Let us learn from North Korea
michael   (05.16.11)
North Korea doesn't have enough food to feed its population and they defy the U.N. Is real has enough agricultural to supply its population. North Korea has no growth economy (excluding military). Israel is in an economic boom. even it were to change due to diplomatic isolation it would be better than North Korea. The point being we need to have some backbone.
16. Partition Imminent
Lynx ,   Palestine   (05.16.11)
17. #2 Haha, thanks for the laugh
Lynx ,   Palestine   (05.16.11)
18. The UN is controlled by the arab league! Fairness does not
Dave ,   New York   (05.16.11)
exist in the terrorist supporting UN!
19. To all the "Rightists"
Stan ,   Israel   (05.16.11)
You think that the "Leftists" are to blame for Israel's woes ? That's fine. You know that there is no point in negotiating with the Pals because they just want to kill us all.? You may be right. I just want to suggest that you move on to some constructive thinking before its too late . Israel will cease to exist if you dont get Bibi and Co to face the facts . It's either Israel without Ariel etc , or no Israel at all. For the sake of my children and grandchildren I WANT ISRAEL TO CONTINUE TO EXIST !
20. The Writing on the Wall
Michael ,   Haifa   (05.16.11)
Only this government and the loud-mouthed talkbackers here cannot read the letters. They will only understand when it hits them in the pocket, as it did to the South Africans.
21. low didnt begin with cast lead- it began when Israel became

22. #2 Salma
Shlomo Kamera   (05.16.11)
Good one! To those who critisise the sweat and truthful Helen Walker, either take a look in the mirror, or at Prof. Shallev! Israel is at an all-time low, because it deserves it. BDS
23. #17 Can we see a picture of you?
(05.16.11)
24. #2 no FAKE salma
Salma ,   Palestine   (05.16.11)
in my eyes My Father ' may god bless his soul' is cuter than any one else in this world. @ Stop using my name without permission.
25. Alternate headline - UN at an all-time low
Rebecca ,   Modi'in   (05.16.11)
Not sure if there is anything we can do to change this. Oh yes, we could let our liberal, academic left loose and roll over and die. That would work.
26. what do u mean by " boom"?
to 15 michael ,   ISRAEL   (05.16.11)
27. So what?
Devorah   (05.16.11)
Read Zechariah. Hashem said He would bring ALL the nations against Israel, and it's going to be very bad. He also said He would destroy those nations. So chins up, Chosen, because the battle is already won.
28. TO Salma#2
Shai Moyal   (05.16.11)
could she be like your father, visual, but probably with brainless-like his daughter " apple does not fall far from the tree"
29. All time low-greatest existential threat
Gideon Reader ,   USA   (05.16.11)
The most depressing fact and the greatest existential threat to Israel, and by extension Jews everywhere, is the continual and relentless stupidity of the elected polititurds who preport to represent the people of Israel and their interests. The same mistakes, bolstered by possession of facts from failed multiple histories of failures are performed over and over again, with no regard to the the lessons of past results, as if the sunrise has wiped away failure and a new science; a new result is at all possible. The worst threat (to Israel) is the continued plodding dishonesty; the pillow with which the elected fools smother the dozing public. Nasrallah? Hamas? Hezbollah, Iran-Syria? Minor irritants. No. The political,(you should please pardon the expression), "Leaders" of Israel. There's the threat.
30. did u drink redbul :)
anton ,   istanbul turkey   (05.16.11)
in this century its hard to belive such minds exsist this never ending conflict is the result of this atitute altough arabs are more down to earth they lack rational mindset and altough israel has rational mindset in its public it has more crazy people than arabs and they lack grip on reality as well as humility sounds like a good match to me :)
