1. This time I for once agree with R.OY
Israeli 2   (05.18.11)
2. There is no halachic prohibition against women broadcasting
American Sabrah   (05.18.11)
Those who say otherwise are ignoramuses of what the Torah actually dictates. It only becomes an issue if men listen to women singing.
3. They`ll be pole dancing next !
Haim ,   Tel Aviv   (05.18.11)
4. National Referendum
Michael ,   Haifa, Israel   (05.18.11)
High time we had a national referendum and decide if we want to live in a real democracy or a theocracy not unlike Iran under our own brand of mullahs.
5. We better hurry and tell the rest of the world.
Josh   (05.18.11)
I don't think the rest of the world knows it is allowed now.

to listen to women singing? Meaning in practice that women cannot sing?
7. Yes #2 - tell us!
Chaya ,   Tel Aviv   (05.18.11)
Where in the Torah does it say - explicitly - that it is forbidden for a man to listen to a woman singing???
8. Rachel Imeinu
Simcha ,   USA   (05.18.11)
Actually the kol in "kol barama" is the voice of Rachel Imeinu - this station won't broadcast Mother Rachel's voice either? The "frum" world has gone crazy.
9. to #6 and to #7
Yehudit   (05.18.11)
To #6 and to #7, nowhere in the Torah does it say that Women can not sing. It is is the Talmud which states that "the voice of a women is tantamount to lewdness". In actuality, it is another instance of men silencing a woman. Also, it could bring unwanted attention to a woman by men other than her husband could be seen by the Orthodox as an example of immodesty by women. However, men seem to have no problem with women listening to them sing and becoming attracted to their voice. In truth, another example of a double standard in the Orthodox community.
10. HA! HA! HA! Applause to Susan & Chaya

11. To #3
M. Hartley ,   Atlanta, US   (05.18.11)
I was in TA in December and not only are there quite a few strip clubs, but I was told that the ownership of some would be surprising. My question is this: Why should/would/does any Jewish man tolerate being made out to be such a wimp as to lose control at the sight and sound of a woman? Worse yet, what does that say about the creative logic of God?? He/She made us in His/Her image, but somehow couldn't manage to put a lid on one aspect or the other of His/Her own nature, except that it seems to help a great deal, especially with the guys, when it comes to that "go and multiply" business. Maybe I missed that part, but I don't remember any "but not with poledancers" :-)
12. 8The "frum"world has gone crazy.
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (05.18.11)
