1. "Violated the rules of international law"
solomon ,   bklyn   (05.17.11)
The not-so-new mantra. Whatever happened, whoever caused it, whenever, where ever it happened, "Israel has violated the rules of international law". Sometimes even when Israel is not even involved!
2. SIA = SEIZE, IMPOUND and AUCTION
GZLives   (05.17.11)
Let them at least suffer the loss of the ship
3. Flotillas to free Kurdistan, Cyprus, Armenia, Hatay, Smyrna,
Marco ,   Spain   (05.17.11)
Constantinople, Anatolia, Trace from Mongol Turks occupation.
4. Escort the flotilla!
graczek ,   Maryland, USA   (05.17.11)
I am surprised and a bit disheartened that the Turkish FM gave the warning about risks to the flotilla. Rather, Turkey and perhaps Iran should be providing naval escort to the flotilla. Then the Zionists might think twice before trying to stop it.
5. The INSANE FLOTILLA !!
mark ,   t.a.   (05.17.11)
As the great scientific EINSTEIN quoted : If you repeat the same experiment and hope to obtain each time a different result is an INSANITY!!
6. Friends are not made with "conditions"
Peleg ,   Danville,CA   (05.17.11)
"You know the condition to be a friend of Turkey". Dude, we don't need your friendship, you can disappear forever and it wouldn't even matter to us.
7. Can't be stopped?
Naor ,   USA   (05.18.11)
I think the IDF will be the ones to determine that!
8. Port state controls
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (05.18.11)
If the flotilla sets sail from a Turkish port, then Turkey is responsible. This is black-letter admiralty law. It has nothing to do with who organizes or who participates; nations control their ports. Vessels can be denied berthing privileges -- this happens quite frequently, actually; for the Turkish foreign minister to suggest otherwise is disingenuous. It is a relatively simple matter for Turkey to simpy deny the use of Turkish ports. If any vessel participating in the flotilla sets sail from a Turkish port, then Turkey shares in the responsibility for any adverse outcome. Israel has declared its intent to prevent the flotilla from breaching a fully legal and internationally recognized blockade. Do the math.
9. To: No. 4
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (05.18.11)
You do realize that you are suggesting that Turkey and Iran should declare war on Israel. You should read up on what constitutes an act of war at sea before you make ludicrous suggestions. You can start with the fact that it is an act of war to aid and abet an attempt to breach a fully legal and internationally recognized blockade.
10. Silly me. I thought sovereign states control their ports.
Cynic ,   USA   (05.18.11)
Funny how muslim/arab states always deny any responsiblity when their territory is used to engage in illegal activity.
11. #4. Answer is simple. The "Zionists" will sink them!
Cynic ,   USA   (05.18.11)

IZL   (05.18.11)
Yeah I am sure Turkey and Iran want a military confrontation with Israel... Let's keep in mind that Iran had trouble containing Saddam, the US wiped out Saddam's military within days. Insurgents are a different story, but the actual army of Iraq? Reduced to dust. If Iran could not do much to Iraq, and Iraq was about as militarily capable as Syria, Egypt, and Jordan, who all lost wars repeatedly to Israel then I think you must really hate Sunnis and Shias, Graczek. Why would you send Sunni Turks to their deaths? and Shia Iranians? Do you really believe the Israeli navy and air-force would not reduce Iranian and Turkish ships to dust if they went to Gaza? Listen dude, go complain about the Ottomans occupation of all the Middle East and much of North Africa for a few hundred years. Go complain about Muslim Arabs occupying Assyrian and Phonecian lands for hundreds of years. You are complaining about Jews? Let's assume you are right, and we have stolen land, it really does pale in comparison to the land both Arabs and Turks stole. Yes, that is a double standard, when you allow one group to be thieves but when the other group supposedly does it, it is held to a different standard than the other group. P.S. The Turkish FM wouldn't give you second.
13. if you can't stop it,
(05.18.11)
the israeli navy WILL DO THIS JOB FOR YOU. BUT, DO NOT CRY TO THE UN AND ASK FOR AN INVESTIGATION WHEN YOU KNOW FULLY WHAT CAN HAPPEN AGAIN. you want to protect civilians illegally going into a war zone, it is on your head if you don't. next time, the navy will come fully loaded to shoot...not paintballs.
14. @4 POLSKI
(05.18.11)
LISTEN, THE ISRAELI NAVY IS THE MOST POWERFUL IN THE MIDDLE EAST. iran is a naval paper tiger. turkey the same. can't be compared to israeli commandos at sea. this is a well known fact. do you really think that iran or turkey is willing to sacrifice so that they can accompany the losers on those boats??? if you think this, you are stupider than i thought. for them, these people are expendable and used as human fodder to create a mess for israel. but israel took care of the mess with the mavi marmara and came on top according to the un commission and investigation which found israel within the law to resist this provocation and the fact that it didn't committ anything against international law and that the siege is legal. sorry, friend, but here you are loosing ground. hameed aboughaze, iranian
15. the conditions to be your friend???
(05.18.11)
hay mr. turk, israel is not running after you at all. it is your country and government that doesn't want to stop talking about israel. the israelis left your tourism and vacations. you begged them to come back because it was ruining your tourism. you constantly criticise israel, talk about it, make movies about it. israelis do not pay attention to you for a long time. don't you realize this??? why are you still insisting that they respond to you. do you not know when you have been left behind already. accept it turkey, and move on. hameed aboughaze, iranian
16. Mavi Marmara advertising
Adriana ,   Ashdod   (05.18.11)
please this time don't be soft to them. this is real enemies not peace activists!! and turkish flotilla group not like eu or another... and please take this Marmara advertising ship and don't give back! Do not let them do the ad again... they want War and they are doing this for second time!!!
17. The Flotilla can be stopped very easily
Rob ,   USA   (05.18.11)
The flotilla can be stopped very easily by simply disabling the ship's propellers. Then you have a floating flotilla, all dressed up and no where to go, except where the Israeli Navy wishes to tow them. No Israeli military injured, and if done enough times, the terrorists end up looking like a bunch of smacked asses. That should take the wind out of their sails.
18. spoken like true Muslims
Eyal ,   USA ISRAEL   (05.18.11)
Just don't whine when activists die.
19. Devious Turkey joining the EU ?...NO WAY
Morris ,   Manchester, UK   (05.18.11)
Devious Turkey appears for what it is. Something even her supporters in the EU, mainly Britain, cannot ignore. The message won't be lost on the US Congress either... For as long as they're led by fundamentalists, they will remain where they belong.
20. TURKEY FLEXES MUSCLES
American ,   Los Angeles   (05.18.11)
It's unbelievable how passive the government is on the jihadists provocations and the PR campain they are running against Israel. What's next, begging on our knees for forgivnes and mercy?US and Israel should isolate Turkey and sanctions should be enforced.
21. Torpedo ----> KAAABOOOM!

Why dont you join this CRAZY FLOTILLA maybe as a FUNDAMENTELIST you are . you will fulfill your dream to become a SEHIT ( Martyr) and go directly to ESEKLER CENNETI ( HEAVEN OF DONKEYS) !!!
24. Nonsense! Turkey CAN stop their citizens
EZ ,   US   (05.18.11)
Just tell them they'll be arrested. As an American, I'm not allowed to announce I'm going to violate international law and pose a security risk....and then go try to carry it out: I'd be tossed in jail. The dumb turks throw people in jail just for SPEAKING THEIR MIND...but if it risks Turkish security, violates international law and threatens the li es of their terrorist civilians...."we can't stop them...we can only warn them". Gee, what a BRILLIANT country Turkey is. Absolutely genius! NOT. Turkey will pay in the near future: murdering terrorists always do!
25. #4: good idea! Uh, wait...have u seen turkish/Iran navy?
EZ ,   US   (05.18.11)
Well, that SINKS that idea you bonehead! 3Dolphin Subs underneath u and you're gonna "escort" vessels violating their nations sovereignty!? LOL! Apparently you hate Iran and turkey! You must be a Slav, just guessing. Cockameme view of the world! Go have another drink!

You are THE WORST FM of MODERN. TURKEY!! BEING a FAILURE in all Aspects GO BACK to your CHAIR in MALASIA and NEVER COME BACK !!
27. To #4. That would be an act of war (end)
Maurice ,   Los Angeles,USA   (05.18.11)
28. #2 I like your acronym but....
Froike ,   Brooklyn, USA   (05.18.11)
I think SIA should stand for S=Sink I=Impound any surviving vessels A=Arrest all those on board.
29. Outdated Tactic
Mark ben Josuf ,   USA   (05.18.11)
The flotillas are an outdated tactic and should be discontinued. Egypt and the Egyptian people are the key. Egypt has every right to just open Rafah to humanitarian aid and trade in goods. They are not signatories to the (expired) Rafah Agreement. Aid and trade through Rafah will also help bolster the Egyptian economy. And since Israel's gov claims to not have any governmental functions in Gaza, there are no valid objections as long as rockets and mortars are not being fired at Israel. Turkey and the people in the EU and even Malaysia, whose ship was turned back recently, should be talking to the Egyptian government. Egypt has no interest in reigniting its conflict with Israel either.
30. Turkey can do something
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (05.18.11)
If they are not in control of their own ports and country then they are not a country at all. Launching terrorist vessels is an act of war and should be treated as such. Our blockade is totally legal under every single international law on the subject and the government in Ankara knows it.
