A person calling for a country's destruction while breaching a border is treated as a serious threat. A person entering from a neighbor who has declared war is a threat as well.

And you give no answer to why nonlethal force wasn't used first. A 78 year old man, walking on Palestinian land, does not deserve to be murdered by a sniper. Even if he was carrying explosives, he would have to get very close to do anyone any harm. How fast does a 78 year old man on foot move? Why couldn't warning shots have been fired, or tear gas, or a rubber bullet? There is no excuse to snipe a human being far away from you like you're hunting rabbits. The IDF has a culture that Palestinian life is worth nothing. One second an old man is walking near your fence, the next he is dead. "The most moral army in the world"? You're fooling no one.
