my thoughts are with you and with the other saudi-arabians/people who want to get rid of the dictatorship to democratize your country with respect for human rights.
4. Women of Saudi Arabia should organize a mass exit
meir elazar   (05.22.11)
Imagine if a considerable number of women would pick up and leave Saudi Arabia in sufficient numbers to seriously impact the demographics of the country.
5. Yet, no segregated sidewalks...
Michael Steiner ,   Bahrain   (05.22.11)
Yes, women can't drive, vote or hold any kind of office but even in Saudi Arabia they CAN walk on the same sidewalk as unrelated men, unlike in certain 7aredi-controlled parts of Israel. May I suggest certain sectors of the Israeli populace might find their lives more comfortable if they did us a favor and moved to the "Magic Kingdom"?
6. Haredi women of Israel take a look and learn from her.
Michael ,   California, USA   (05.22.11)
I know, I know, Haredi woman is "the most loved, most important in the family." She is also the most restricted and limited in her freedom of all the women in Israel. As I wrote previously, Haredi women ought to unite against their oppressors, against the social and religious system that keeps them without any hope for progress. But I am wrong, they could become non-believers, could lahazor ba'sheela.
7. They can ride camels
Marco ,   Spain   (05.22.11)
Camels don't need drivers...LOL What else can be expected from a country named after one Mafia family?

9. Hard To Believe They Live In The 21st. Century
Bill Foonman ,   Jacksonville, USA   (05.22.11)
Why Saudi women - and Muslim women in general - tolerate medieval misogyny like this is beyond me.
10. Statistics are on our Side!!!!
Ahmad Cohen Ibn ,   Mousa HaLevy   (05.22.11)
After extensive research of Highway Fatalities, Saudi Arabia has decided to make this a number one priority in the Kingdom. Since we outlawed women drivers, the number of accidents caused by females has dropped dramatically. Geico and State Farm have reviewed the statistics and are now lobbying in countries all over the world to adopt our strategies. We are now also outlawing drivers older than 60 years and those from the far east countries. The research is not yet concluded but we are also examining the driving habits of Shiites and Wahabis. Hopefully, we will be able to outlaw them from driving as well.
11. Not a word from

12. #4 Unfortunately for them, they need husbands' approval !
Nour ,   One State   (05.22.11)
All woman in Saudi Arabia need their husband's or guardian's signed approval before leaving the kingdom unaccompanied! Of course, Obama spoke nothing of thr kingdom, or Bahrain.

Like an aging tortoise that is still creeping to reach its destination women in Saudi Arabia are still struggling mighty hard in the 21st century to gain only one of the simplest rights in life, driving a car, although mankind in civilized societies succeeded in the 20th century in inventing the A-bomb in 1945,developping nuclear energy, making space exploration and landing a man on the moon in 1969,and participating in the political process ( Golda Meir in Israel, Indira Ghandi in India, Bandaranaika in Sri Lanka, Thatcher in U.K.,etc... ) ! Citizens in Saudi Arabia, both male and female, are still denied civil and political liberties under a much-retarded yet phony Islamic rule : law is applied to ordinary citizens but members of the royal family are exempt.Saudis are not allowed to enjoy representative government and thus no genuine and independent legislative and judicial authorities exist and political opposition is not tolerated and, hence, political parties are totally banned while the ruling House of Saud completely monopolizes the executive power in government ! What I find most funny and absurd in this article is that : " driving exposes women to sinful temptations by allowing them to mingle with policemen and mechanics" . This exactly reminds me of the 1980 movie " Death of a Princess " which told the story of a royal family young princess who decides to escape secretly with her young lover of the common people ( royals do not make intermarriage with commons ) only to be caught in the airport and eventually harshly punished ! Well, I pity the Saudis, both the rulers and the ruled, when I compare my situation here in Jerusalem under Israeli control to their unenviable situation in Saudi Arabia under Islamic rule . And all this not to mention that I received university education in America while the old, aging Saudi king is ignorant and illiterate although, ironically, he boasts billions of dollars as his personal wealth !

21. "The Israeli government is so concerned..."
dickerson3870 ,   Atlanta, Georgia USA   (05.23.11)
FROM THE WALL STREET JOURNAL, 04/29/11: "...The Israeli government is so concerned that America's adversaries may miscalculate U.S. intentions that it is privately urging Washington to make it clear that the U.S. would intervene in Saudi Arabia should the survival of that government be threatened..." - Ted Koppel
