31. I'm glad to see the profusion of articles and associted
seadog1946 ,   ArthurKill, NY   (05.22.11)
breathless comments concerning US elections, the power of "Jewish money", AIPAC, and other Jewish lobby groups. The interplay of US elections, foreign/domestic money and the influence of lobby groups (foreign/domestic/industrial/religous/etc.) should always be publicised and brought to public scrutiny. BUT... US elections are much more complicated than the single issue of mandatory support of Israeli government policy.
32. this article
allan ,   chicago,USA   (05.22.11)
many of the talkbacks need to read the whole of 242. It calls for withdrawal of territories taken in 1967. I know it does not say all, but the clear implication is that generally there should be a withdrawal to the pre 1967 lines
33. Even if he gets reelected Obama will not bring peace
Ilan ,   Ariel   (05.22.11)
All his past actions, including this latest speech, only serve to make the Palestinians harden their negotiating stance to the point that apart from Meretz and the Arab parties no one will agree to the terms.
34. to #1 no he doesn't he got zigzag
ghostq   (05.22.11)
policy, he got no firm stance on anything especially not on the ME. until now his policy only caused Israel more troubles, ever since mtchel mad mad meltdown 2 years ago, the palis brok the cease fire. on that week a Forign worker from Thailand was murder from direct rocket hit. I don't think Obama did any good to Israel in security issue.
35. money, IQ & you.

#31: Fortunately scientists correlate intelligence/education with money - even Jewish money.........kind of the association in Quebec between reason and Separatism.

37. Koch is a Republican
Smolanit ,   Miami, FL USA   (05.22.11)
Koch's "support" for Obama was tenuous at best--Koch is a Republican and always has been. And who cares what Zuckerman thinks?
38. obama
frank ,   israel   (05.22.11)
obama will sell out Israel in a heartbeat and then when we are again attacked he will hold hands and decry how terrible this is and how everyone should be friends with the poor jews. Unfortunately Jews by nature are liberal and also unfortunately we seem to possess strong guilt feelings towards blacks. Liberal Jews will not abandon obama regardless. Most US Jews really don't have a stance for Israel and for a significant number of assimulated and married out don't even care. But that is their problem. My problem is trying to ensure that the rest of the US understands that obama is simply bad for them in general. As an off-shoot of his "simply being bad" he is also bad for Israel. Americans should concern themselves with what is best for the US. If high unemployment, less personal liberities, more big government interference, high gas costs, obamaCare, terrorism, illegal immigration, deficit, losing your homes....if these are issues of concern, what has obama done to alliviate? If nothing, why would you possibly want to continue with him???? And with all the above, he is disasterous to us....so there are several great self-interested American reasons to get rid of him and one that also appeals to me.....so you can support getting rid of that jimmy carter clone and support Israel at the same time (even if you don't care about us) and you still will benefit in a big way.....:)

40. Obama Fooled 'em all
Norbus ,   Jerusalem   (05.22.11)
Unchained to a Black Church pew with wife & Kids taking in Jeremiah Wright 's Xtreme poison: 20 years, with no chains holding him down, Despite Muslim family loyalties & a middle name that says it all, despite Hamas funds raised and laundered on the internet, Mr & Mrs USA were fooled. Jury is out on the deep Sh1t he got america into financially , turning a crisis into a calamity, despite forcing a nonsensical medical bill down the nation's throat, Ok with a mosque next to Ground zero? Obama has played with fire in the middle east : Any one who noticed the revered bow to King Abdullah in worship mode , would not be surprised he now supportds the Ichkwan al muslimeen ; read Dore Gold's Hatred's Kingdom. Has the world gone mad? Has America gone mad? Now he walks away from a friend ??Israel?? ? Obama , you did an amazing job and fooled them all. After all, Allah is the master in that field.

just close checkbooks to all dems......mayor koch was right to support president bush twice--also mayor says republicans need to raise taxes for his spending priorities....but u.s. is broke!
43. #35 - intelligence/IQ/money...
seadog1946 ,   ArthurKill, NY   (05.22.11)
that combination didn't work out so well in 1938 Germany.
44. #4 Sarah, dream on
Ben ,   USA   (05.22.11)
I think, if anything, Obama will benefit from having the chutzpah to say, with regard to the Israel/Palestine conflict, what he and many other people feel is the right thing to do. Namely, that the "Jordan is Palestine" mantra is horse dung (good luck attempting to orchestrate the necessary population transfer, mass granting of Jordanian citizenship, or both, on that one, by the way), that there should be a Palestine to the *West* of the Jordan as the UN voted in late 1947, and that the basic template of Palestine's borders begins with the pre-1967 borders, then modified by land swaps to accommodate each side's concerns. Go peddle your support elsewhere, if you like. Watch out for the door on the way out, dear.
45. #19, you better do the math again
Frank ,   Zürich, Switzerland   (05.22.11)
Obama=365 electoral votes, Mc Cain=173 eloctoral votes. California= 60% Obama, 37% Mc Cain, Jewish Popul. 2.9% ; New York= 62% Obama, 37% Mc Cain, Jewish Popul. 9.1%........ Same with New Jersey and all the other states you mentioned except for Florida. Even if all jews will vote for the rep. candidate- what is completly unrealistic- Obama still has enough buffer unless the candidate is better than Mc Cain. Im sure Obama will still get at least 50% of jewish votes.
46. Today Liberal US Jews are same as pre World War II Jews
OnTheOtherSide ,   USA   (05.22.11)
Hillery Clinton polled a fast one on the Jewish American community when she ran for congress representing New York state. The American Jewish community "forgotten her disgusting performance with Suah Arafat" but she has shown her true colors again. Hopefully moranioc liberal community will open their eyes and realize that Obama could care less if Israel disappears all together, he kisses up to the Muslims/Arabs and sacrifices Israel for his personal ego. If any one has ant doughty, remember who was his spiritual mentor: Reverent Jeremiah A. Wright Jr. http://topics.nytimes.com/topics/reference/timestopics/people/w/jeremiah_a_wright_jr/index.html Although he severed his ties with the Reverent he was his admired him for 21 years. Only when Wright became a liability Obama denounced him. Again what does that say about Obama's character? With friends like him there will be no Israel.
47. American Jews will NEVER desert a Marxist!
Tom ,   USA   (05.22.11)
90% of the non-Jewish American readers/posters of various political forums firmly opine that Jews are always stay with Leftist parties. No matter what. Always. They praised Stalin in the gulags at the Siberian river Kolyma. ADL, Jstreet and a host of Jewish organizations already expressed their support for "their" president. Final question: do you think that the Blacks will abandon him because of his indifference to the massacres in Africa? One cannot help but wonder: are we as Jews so much ignorant about the American Jewry political leaning that we are substituting reality with wishful thinking?
48. #18 Brod: Please study Histrory
Tom ,   USA   (05.22.11)
Jewish association with the Left goes back to Marx-Lenin-Stalin's time and Jewish Communists were willing to die for their creeds. They strongly believe in Marxist ideology and they will forgive to any Leftist leader who cause harm to them on account of "He made mistakes...but he was progressive after all".
49. Whats To Ponder ???????

Oay Khavault Your ALL Mashughie, he (b.h.o.) should shlaup chouf envant( hit his head up against the wall) Maybe that will Knock some sence in him? Just Wondering?
50. What are we so upset about?
RobJohn ,   Seattle, Wash.   (05.22.11)
We voted this poser in and we are reaping the whirlwind. Don't we no longer believe in his slogan? "Change We Can Believe In" "Yes We Can" We are now just finding out, in moments of imminent peril, exactly what he and his minions meant by these mottoes. If we don't like what we are seeing and hearing.....we get the chance to change it in the very near future. From all I have seen, heard and witnessed.....he is not good for anyone.....friend or foe. Look closely at what he has done so far. Do you see any benefits for any other than his entourage? I sure don't. He is way, way, way out of his depth. As he used the term himself, "That is above my Pay Grade." Well, surprise, surprise, this office of POTUS is in the same category. His experience in Public Affairs and/or Public Office has been as a local community organizer. As the old saying goes: Be careful what we ask for......we might actually get it. It appears in this case...we got way more than we even imagined. And, don't blink yet.....but more is most likely on the way. Just out of curiousity. Someone, somewhere, please inform us of the unwashed-What exactly has he accomplished in his current position that has benefited we the public? It won't take up much space to let us in on the positives. Please share such with us.
51. Some people are acting like this came out of the blue???
Nick Sporek ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (05.22.11)
That's what you get for ignoring reality. There were more than enough warning signals about his stance on Israel.
52. Cancel AIPAC
Pinhas Bayit ,   Bet HaKerem   (05.22.11)
Those who are happy with the term neo-con - sadly applied to too many American Jews with money but not much political sense - need to recall what the late Yitzhak Rabin said about AIPAC - that Israel's foreign policy was made by the Prime Minister in Jerusalem and not by a Washington lobbying group. There's so much reactionary nonsense spewed out since the 1967 border was referred to by President Obama and not a little racism too. Bibi thinks he can lecture Presidents and chummy up to his partners in prevarication in Congress and get away with it. All he's doing is digging us all a deeper hole and after September it'll be too late to get out of it.
53. #17 that's what makes it worse
(05.22.11)
obama has caused the united states damage. he will be remembered as being the worst president ever. his only success is killing bin laden using the torture tactics that he condemned bush for. the only reason he got the nobel prize because of the color of his skin. how can anyone who supports america vote for obama?
54. # 8 Reuven

Reuven you are correct. One State with all residents, they don't like it, they can leave.

56. Good recordkeeping
Sam Tayar ,   Canada   (05.22.11)
#43 It sure has worked well since. Some of us remember well our past & plan our future intelligently. Tune in from time to time to assess results.........and yours!
57. #8 Rueven #54 Miriam
Tom ,   USA   (05.22.11)
Do you read the international media, don't you? How many suicide/car bombing and mass death occurred in purely Muslim countries today? Killing the Copts in Cairo to boot. Can you imagine the mayhem in a small place where sunni-shia Islamists-Jews-Christians etc. forced to live together. No you cannot and you would not because reality is incompatible with your convoluted ideology. Sharia law, stoning, honor killing in Muslim quarters, secular law other places --- the utmost chaos and bloodbath. The dreams of the Leftists!
58. Sup Ct in 2008 - Israel in 2012
billybob ,   usa   (05.22.11)
Jews voted for Obama because the words President Palin and vacancies on the Supreme Court scared them. As long as the Republicans nominate someone better than Palin - even Mickey Mouse - Obama has no chance. I, for one, will not be voting for him again.
59. No. 22 Rachel
NYC Girl   (05.22.11)
You're not alone. But I think that even more disturbing than Obama's cozy relationship with the loathsome Jeremiah Wright, was his close personal friendship with Rashid Khalidi...the former paid mouthpiece for Yasser Arafat and the PLO. In fact, I wouldn't doubt that Khalidi is probably one of the people advising Obama on the Middle East behind the scenes, since Obama admits he had formed some of his opinions on the Israeli/Palestinian as a result of Khalidi's tutelage.

Since when has Ed Koch, the Democratic Mayor of NYC, ever been a Republican? The sun can get brutally hot in Miami. I'd suggest you stay out of it.
