(05.23.11)
Born in Europe with a passport and citizenship but told that G-d has chosen Jews for what. So I going to land for what
2. Hamas in PA government is against Oslo
Eric ,   Tel Aviv & NY   (05.23.11)
The Oslo accords are very specific that anyone running in a PA election must not call for the destruction of Israel. Hamas was not eligible to run in the last election, and their saying that they have not given permission for the new government to negotiate only shows that they are still ""poses an enormous obstacle to peace" regardless that they are part of the people.
3. Nice to know: terrorism is officially part of Palestine
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (05.23.11)
It's so nice to know that the president of "Palestine" says that refusing peace negotiations and terrorism against Israeli civilians is "part of Palestinian society". The covers are coming off of the true "Palestine", which is being revealed as just another brutal, racist, women-hating, Christian-hating Arab dictatorship. There were several summary executions last week by Palestinians of alleged "collaborators" with Israel. Death sentences carried out in the street with no judge or jury, no defense lawyers. Brutal murders of Arabs by Arabs. The "human rights" NGOs are silent as usual. And now, Abbas tells us that Fatah embracing Hamas - a recognized terrorist organization with a bloody criminal record - is just business as usual for the Palestinians.
4. abbas admits hamas (ie terror) is a feature if pal society
mike ,   israel (formerly usa   (05.23.11)
we all knew that though.
5. Now, after Obama's speech, it is for the Palestian Arabs to
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (05.23.11)
approach the table at which Israel has been sitting and waiting for them for the past two years to talk peace. Let us hope, when they do so, that they will come clean handed and in good faith to negotiate, while knowing full well that they will be asked to accept Israel's right to be, to exsit as the nation-state of the Jewish people, and that a peace treaty, if and when is signed, will mean the "end of the conflict and the end of all future demands. This poster is waiting.....
6. Yea , Abu Mazen Can Say NO To Obama : P
Salma ,   Palestine   (05.23.11)
7. Quite intriguing and quite your lies!!!
eva ,   phoenix, AZ   (05.23.11)
8. Hamas can NOT be avoided
Westbanker ,   West Bank   (05.23.11)
Its was elected by the majority of the palestinians because the peace process has not acheived anything to us.... Once you Israelis get out from west bank and we are able to establish our country then there will be a real peace. Otherwise Hamas ideology will be dominant in!
9. UN Security Council Resolution, 242, in no way suggests...
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (05.23.11)
...what the future boundaries of Israel should be. In fact, specifically, when addressing the subject, 242 refers to "secure and recognized boundaries". Any attempt to see Israel giving up on its security by ensuring that its future boundaries be other than secure and recognized by the warring parties, as called for by 242, is indicative of how much the security of the nation-state of the Jewish people, Israel, is of little or no importance to him/her, not withstanding statements such as "our commitment to Israel's security is unshakable". P.S. UN Security Council Resolution, 242, does not call for the setting up of an additional state in the region nor does 242 mention concepts such as "Palestinians", "Palestine" or a "Palestinian state".
10. The end of conflict
Nathan Greenberg ,   Toronto Canada   (05.23.11)
Israel isn't the state of the Jewish people it's a Zionist enterprise. United Palestine should become the state for it's citizens living in Gaza, Israel and WB.
11. Talking about peace is delusional.
Terry ,   Eilat - Israel   (05.23.11)
Talking about negotiations is no less delusional. Describing this as a ''peace process'' is positively Orwellian. From now on, our gov't. should consider Fatah as it does Hamas. Both are terrorist organizations.
12. ok #9
Iranian Jew ,   LA   (05.23.11)
You can stay in Canada for all i care. What the heck does Zioinst Enterprise mean? Deos it mean working hard to make Jews feel safer? Then ok! It sounds pretty good to me and lot of others. I guess I am too a zionist.
13. Salma "PALESTINE"
David ,   Haifa   (05.23.11)
no home... no noting for thugs like you. go back to jordan
14. What is going to happen
Palestinian   (05.23.11)
Hamas will authorize Abbas to negotiate a peace deal with Israelis (Russians , Flashas , Europeans or where ever f they came from) a peace deal based on the 1967 lines with some tradeoffs of some land. The next generation of Palestine can continue the path all the way so people can continue to have peace. So Hamas to authorize Abbas to speak on behalf of all of Palestinians and get the peace and Hamas to agree of what ever Abbas sign. Hamas doesn't have to say anything then later its up to the Palestinian people to elect whoever new parties to be in the government. Palestinians have no say when Russians elect Lieberman (former night club bouncer form Moldova) Shas or other nuts.
15. #8 - what have you been smoking?
Jonny ,   Cape Town   (05.23.11)
You are living under an Illusion.
16. Oh? As "opposition", Hamas must surrender rockets and Shalit
Dr. L. Brnd ,   San Diego, USA   (05.23.11)
If Abbas thinks the world is going to buy his garbage interpretation of a "democratic opposition", the minimum requirement is that Hamas must obey the law of the democratic government. That means complying with a directive to surrender all Gaza weapons for supervised destruction under governrment control, and surrendering hostage Shalit immediately and unconditionally - not for releases of convicted terrorists and war criminals - that's what terrorists demand. No Hamas obedience to PA law, then no credibility that it is subservient to the "moderate" Abbas-led "peace government" - but rather, the opposite is the case. Hamas involvement in elections violates the Oslo and Quartet terms that allowed the PLO to return from exile and continue as the "sole representative of the Palestinian people" (Condoleesa Rice's moronic elections election notwithstanding) - Israel in that case is likewise released from all of its Oslo and Quartet terms, requiring PA recognition of the Jewish State - meaning massive full speed ahead on new settlements whereever Israel wants, as well as ending PA access to Israeli water, electricity, tax rebates and harbors and crossings for its goods - except for major new PA concessions to pay for them. In this light, Israel should hold off on any Shalit swap for hundreds of convicted killers until the Abbas-Hamas regime is tested in this essential way. Abbas can't have it both ways! If what Abbas is saying is accurate, Shalit must be released unconditionally as proof that Hamas will obey PA law, as well as all Gaza rockets turned over to the "independent government" for destruction as illegal weapons the PA is banned from possessing. If not, its a fraud, and a state is out of the question with Hamas "in" the government but outside of its control.
17. Let's create an independant terrorist state.
Terry ,   Eilat - Israel   (05.23.11)
What a great idea!!! Just think, we could have another Gaza or even better, another Somalia, right on our border. For sure, that will bring peace, right? So, let's have a standing ovation for all the genius politicians that promoted this brilliant idea over the years, overcoming all evidence & common sense.
18. @ #1 you can stay where you are
Iranian Jew ,   LA   (05.23.11)
No one from Israel asked you to leave. If they do then ignore them. Government of Israel does not need you either. In fact no one even requires you to read this site.
19. what circus these 2 have created for
Iranian Jew ,   LA   (05.23.11)
themselves! Bibi is a pretty smart guy. He knows that these 2 will never get along. I'll give them another month and then we shall see. Abbass would not last a day w/o Israel protection. Hamas will get rid of him very soon.
20. #8
Iranian Jew ,   LA   (05.23.11)
You say that like you really mean it. We don't beleive you. we know once we get out then we'll get rockets i.e Gaza. You stopped the rockets only becuase Israel responded harshly. You can't guarentee peace with people like Hamas or Arafat in charge. Israeli population has a hard time beleiving you now. You could have had your borders in 67 but you still refused to make peace. Since then we have moved on with our lives and you are still stuck with the same ideology. How long do you think we are going to sit around and wait?
21. Hamas as opposition? What - forever?
Alterman ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (05.23.11)
That´s a good one. A typical joke by Mahmoud Abbas, ignoring the fact that Hamas could, if they end terror etc, become the largest party that will dominate the PA, thereby sending Abbas and Fatah to the opposition benches.
22. Faith in Obama
Moshe ,   Jerusalem   (05.23.11)
Okay, we will draw back to the “67” borders with a few negated changes and everyone will be happy, no more war, no more killing, Israel will be able to sleep at night to know that no terrorists will come in at night and kill innocent children and babies across their borders, we can dance on the streets and give out sweets and be happy. Where is the guarantee, can we really believe these people, Israel wants peace they wanted it since 1948 but all the Arab countries merged on to little Israel and have tried to destroy us, have tried to push us into the sea. I have great faith in Hashem but I don’t have faith in Obama. And what about Gilad Shalit, when will they return him live and well. Obama, bring Gilad home first alive and well and then may be I will have faith in you.
23. #8
Anshel ,   Toronto, Canada   (05.23.11)
Just to refresh your memory, Ariel Sharon withdrew fro Gaza and what happened in unoccupied Gaza? The Hamas ideology took over, the Fatah rum from Gaza to west bank begging the Israelis to let them trough. The truth is that Fatah is no match for more disciplined and funded by Iran Hamas. How long do you think will take Hamas to control West Bank once the Israelis withdraw? Then you will call on Israelis to liberate you from the tyranny of Hamas? You can have your cake and eat it!
24. #2 what?????
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (05.23.11)
I really don't understand. You are saying that Israel (the enemy) and Fatah (American supported minority faction) made the Oslo agreement that says Hamas can't be elected. Why exactly would the Arabs care about an agreement that says you can have democratic elections as long as you vote like we want you to? Hamas will win elections because they and their charter represent the will of the majority of the Arabs.
25. Abbas and the Patheticstinians
Eyal ,   USA ISRAEL   (05.23.11)
It seems to me Mr. Abbas, you live in double standards or even triple or the works? By what you are saying, it is ok for your government to allow the opposition Government or their affiliated terrorist group to attack Israel? This is OK because "Hamas is part of Palestinian society", which allows them to take part in the democratic game as opposition"? Abbas, are you even listening to yourself? You think this is democracy, but better yet, do you really think we are all dumb and you are smart? So you want peace, but Hamas and other terrorist group can attack Israel because they can do so, as the opposition? You sound more delusional than Ajhmadanijad's speech on how the West is stealing the rain.
26. Moshe Ya'alon said today that:''..we have to get used to

If Obama doesn't like it, well tant-pis he can do drink from the blue water as Arafat would have said! I'll tell you what is unshakable Obama, PALESTINIAN DEMOCRACY. How dare you insult our cohesive struggle?
