1. Why does he go to US?
AnnaM Sedda ,   Rome-Italy   (05.23.11)
Where does he get the money?Do Pali have the same opportunity? Is there no doctors in Gaza City?Does not he want to die in his land, like any Pali martyr? Palestinians should ask some questions to him...is his heart better than their children?
2. As we Jews say: best wishes for a full recovery
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (05.23.11)
May Fayyad speedily return to good health, and may he be inspired to quickly lead his people back to the negotiating people in order to make a lasting peace with Israel.
3. I am willing to bet
Seth ,   Boston   (05.23.11)
that "hate syndrome," suffered by many "Palestinians," was a contributing factor to his heart attack. Anyways, may he make a swift and full recovery.
4. And Clinton suffered panic attack when she heard
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (05.24.11)
US policy regarding the PA is regularly justified on the basis of the work Fayyad is doing. Just as Israel's "peace treaty" with Egypt (such as it is) hung on the efforts of one man (Sadat then Mubarak) to maintain it, what happens when Fayyad is gone (or driven out, as Hamas demands)?
5. wish him health, and start making peace already

Daniel ,   UK   (05.24.11)
I wish Dr Fayad a speedy recovery. Please ditch the so called 'Fayad plan' and come back to the negociating table. negociations with Israel are NOT futile and the UN cannot grant you a state!

16. Fayyad - PhD @ Texas Austin
Mark ben Josuf ,   USA   (05.24.11)
Fayyad got his PhD at Texas, Austin before going to work at the US Federal Reserve in St Louis. Many US colleges give legacy rights to kids of alums. Or maybe his kid just went there because his dad thought it was a good school.
17. Best wishes to Fayyad for Recovery
Elizabeth in Austin ,   Austin, Texas   (05.24.11)
Prime Minister Fayyad went to school here in Austin as a young man, receiving a degree for UT. I imagine that Austin is a second home for him. I have great respect for Fayyad, and as a Jewish woman, wish to send him my wishes for his complete recovery. He is an honorable man---a decent one. I support Israel 100% and I wish for a resolution to the conflict which will make life better for the Palestinian people, as well. Austin has good medical care and I hope that he will soon be healthy.

Elizabeth in Austin ,   Austin, Texas   (05.24.11)
I'm glad that Prime Minister Fayyad was able to get to medical care, adequate medical care, quickly. I think that he has been coming to Austin since he was a young student himself. I hope that he will soon be well and over this medical crisis. He is a good man and a good leader, well-respected in the Jewish community in Texas.

23. If this had happened in the PA....
Jewish Warrior   (05.24.11)
He, like countless Palestinians, would have turned to an Israeli hospital for the free medical care Israel offers, rather than a third-rate Palestinian hospital, then gone on hating Israel anyway.
24.  #1 Anna
Ralph Levy ,   USA   (05.24.11)
His son went to school in Austin and Fayid lived and graduated two universities in Austin for I think 15 years.
