2. Congress, not United Nations!
MP ,   NYC   (05.24.11)
"..I too stand here before the nations of the world.." You'll get BOOED for that line in a Republican-majority Congress! First rule: know whom you're speaking to!
3. A suicide speech
Avi   (05.24.11)
Her one state solution is as racist and dangerous as That of Hamas. Her delusional jewish caliphate is a formula for war and disaster. We know what party she is from but what planet does she live on.
4. Boy, our right wing women are gorgeous!
Israeli 2   (05.24.11)
5. well said!!!
Eddie ,   UK   (05.24.11)
If Bibi delivers this speech, lunch is on me!
6. and...........?
A.C.Guard ,   USA   (05.24.11)
So you're ready for peace. Meaningless rhetoric. I would hope Bibi is more direct to this congress, as most member are friends of Israel and not with the Muslim jihadists.
7. SERIAL 2-STATES = GENOCIDE.
BUTSeriously ,   Sydney   (05.24.11)
There is nothing else to say. Bibi must demand a 2-state in Egypt instead - one for the original, native Copts, and this should buffer Israel against Egypt, Hamas and the PA.
8. Regev for Prime Minister
Ellen ,   Israel/USA   (05.24.11)
9. If a Palestinian wrote something like this,
Michael Steiner ,   Bahrain   (05.24.11)
Everybody would seize it as evidence absolute that it is impossible to make peace with them and that we "have no partner for peace." Miri Regev and her ilk are going to cause us to lose Israel again eventually and end up spending another two millennia wandering around the world in exile. Open your eyes and use your brains, damn it!!
10. Ready for peace not a figure of speech
Oneye ,   USA   (05.24.11)
"Ready for peace" is not a figure of speech, it is a fact on the ground. Study Israel analytically. 20% Arab citizens, with full rights, who participate fully in Israel's democracy. Internally Israel is at peace, there is freedom of speech and freedom of religion. Add to that a vibrant economy, not built on oil, and Israel is the envy of the Middle East. Israeli Arabs know that, and they are not "trading up". Now examine the surrounding Arab States. The Kingdom of Jordan does not allow Jews to be citizens, the word "Jew" is banned on the monopoly state TV. Egypt is a tyranny, Copts are attacked by Muslims while the state stands by, most Jews have fled. Lebanon is a mess, a once vibrant democracy destroyed by Islamic militantism, now dominated by radical Hizbollah, the same organization that killed 350 US marines. Syria is a brutal dictatorship, on a par with Saddam's Iraq. The Kingdom of Saudi bans all non-Muslims from citizenship. Yemen and Bahrain are the worst sorts of tyrannies. I'll stop there. All of them kill their own citizens on an enormous scale. None of them have freedom of speech, or tolerance of religion - the dominant sect of Islam kills the others. All of them are police states. Now you can see why the Palestinians are not ready for peace. It will be generations if they start now. I don't see any evidence of them starting. Jewish democracy started long before 1948, and has been a fact on the ground for 63 years. Israel is ready for peace, there is no partner, and will not be one in our lifetimes. All the anti-Semites are ignored by Israel, so hate all you want, your useless hatred does not change the facts on the ground.
11. #1 to ny idiot,
boris ,   nyc, us   (05.24.11)
arabs could have their state in 1948, but thought that to get rid of israel would be piece of cake...small mistake! so they have been truing since. call for obama to be tried too, he likes jewish money.
12. One fundamental element must be clear to all: All peace ...
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (05.24.11)
...talks to date have been governed by UN Security Council Resolution, 242, it having been accepted by ALLl parties to the conflict as the basis for peace-making. UN Security Council Resolution, 242, in no way suggests what the future boundaries of Israel should be. In fact, specifically, when addressing the subject, 242 refers to "secure and recognized boundaries". Nor does 242 deal with the concept of the exchange of territory. This has been introduced later on by those who, after having accepted the rules of the game, wanted to change those rules, and still do. Any attempt to see Israel giving up on its security by ensuring that its future boundaries be other than secure and recognized by the warring parties, as called for by 242, is indicative of how much the security of the nation-state of the Jewish people, Israel, is of little or no importance to him/her, not withstanding statements such as "our commitment to Israel's security is unshakable". P.S. UN Security Council Resolution, 242, does not call for the setting up of an additional state in the region nor does 242 mention concepts such as "Palestinians", "Palestine" or a "Palestinian state".These are also concepts introduced by those who had accepted the rules of the game and then, having been part of it, demanded to change the rules. Sadly, the President of the US is going along with all of these changes, at Israel's national and security interests.
13. Right on Regev. We have legal proof Judea/Samaria are ours.
Chaim ,   Israel   (05.24.11)
Right on Regev! This is precisely the type of speech Israel should make to the U.S., U.N., E.U., all international governments and media. Let's stop talking about security and claim what is rightfully ours: Judea and Samaria. Moreover, we have incontrovertible legal proof Judea and Samaria are ours, produced by some of the world's finest international lawyers. We should serve proof on the world. Even Eugene Rostow, author of U.N. Resolution 242, admitted Judea and Samaria legally belong to Israel.
14. #1. Here's why Obama backtracked from his anti-Israel speech
Chaim ,   Israel   (05.24.11)
#1. You've got it all wrong. Most Americans strongly disagreed with Obama's hostile, anti-Israel speech. Obama got tremendous flack for it from both Democrats and Republicans. That is why he backtracked from it. Countless reliable polls show Americans, in general, are very fond of Israel.
15. Was thinking the same, #4
Cameron ,   USA   (05.24.11)
A real plus when looks and politics complement eachother, yes indeed.
16. Good Start
Pixelated Dwaf ,   USA   (05.24.11)
There already are enough Arab states in the region - making another out of an artificially created people "the Palestinians" is not going to bring peace to the region or the world . The stated goals of the Arabs have always been to "drive the Jews into the sea" from the moment Israel declared independence. Those goals and the desire to kill haven't changed. Witness the rockets and bombings that are going on. It is glorified to strap on a bomb vest and try to kill people and families are rewarded for it. We need to stop the insanity instead of encouraging it. Just say "no" - if you want to live within the borders of Israel - give up your weapons or be treated as terrorists or better yet go to Jordan.
17. Jordan is Palestine. Bye bye.
Ben Avraham ,   Tel Aviv   (05.24.11)

Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (05.24.11)
When he finished his job as a CIA agent fighting the Soviets, Bin Laden realized that the Saudi regime was just a puppet to steal money. Like it or nor, Bin Laden was a Saudi patriot. You were attacked on 9/11 because of your support for the corrupt Saudi regime. As for trying AIPAC, nothing new here. People like you think it is acceptable for officials to take money from foreign governments, but you expect the officials to ignore their Jewish taxpaying constituents. I've always told my Jewish friends in America, come back home because people like Pierce Brolin will eventually hunt you down.
19. To: Cameron at No. 15
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (05.24.11)
She's a Brigadier General, too.
20. To: No. 1
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (05.24.11)
You are so wrong. Israel had nothing to do with the September 11 attacks. The American people applaud Prime Minister Netanyahu; what better proof than the 2010 mid-term elections, which saw the American people vote into office Congressional representatives that strongly endorse Israel? Take your anti-Semitic rant and shove it.
21. Land of Israel is ours
Elsie. ,   Gush Halav   (05.24.11)
You see,mk Miri has also used Ynet to write a letter to the American people, she also used her right of 'freedom of speech'
22. NEXT Jordaanian King is Palestinian- thats what matters
JORDAN ,   Is Palestine   (05.24.11)
JORDAN IS PALESTINE
23. Regev is right
Brod ,   USA   (05.24.11)
Regeve is right. However, she should specify that Judea and Samaria are Israel's historic homeland-Land of Israel which Israel liberated from the Islamist-Jihadist occupiers in 1967, just as Spain liberated its historic homeland of Spain from the Islamist-Jihadist occupiers in the 15th century.
24. Miri Regev defending the one state solution!
Ben Alofs ,   Bangor, UK   (05.24.11)
Thank you. It will come, the one state where Jews, Moslems and Christians live together under full equality. One man, one vote! You are right: partition will not work. Only democracy for all citizens between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean will!
25. #4. Patriotic Israeli women beautiful inside and outside.
Chaim ,   Israel   (05.24.11)
#4 Israeli2. You're on to something here. Patriotic Israeli women are beautiful both inside and outside. Regev and Hotoelvy are good examples. As for the leftists...I don't want to be rude.
26. To Jehudah Ben-Israel #12
FO ,   Belgium   (05.24.11)
The majority of people have not the slightest idea of the meaning of UN resolution 242. The author of 242 was Prof. Eugene Rostow, Dean of the school of Law of Yale. He wrote the resolution a short time after the six days war, when the Sinai Desert was in Israeli hands. In case of peace Rostow spoke about a withdrawal OF territories and not friom THE territories. He had in mind the retreat from the Sinai Desert that never was part of the "Mandate for Palestine". Rostow as an expert in International Law knew that the situation of Judea, Samaria and Jerusalem was a total different affair. He knew that those territories were subject to the decisions voted by the League of Nations in 1922, that gave the Jews the irrevocable right to settle anywhere in the area between the Mediterranean Sea and the Jordan River, a right unaltered in International Law and valid to this day due to Article 80 of the Charter of the United Nations. To all the readers, look for articles and explanations written by Rostow; you will find them on Internet. Reading them is a must. Are our politicians unaware about it? I can hardly believe it. And if they know, why a total silence about the subject ???
27. To: No. 24
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (05.24.11)
er ... not quite. The one state which General Regev envisions will include Judea and Samaria, but not its Arab residents, who will have been repatriated to Jordan, as it is the country of their citizenship. And all the Israeli Arabs who have been guilty of sedition and treason will be deported. Those who are contributing, loyal citizens are welcome to stay.
28. To: Chaim at No. 25
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (05.24.11)
That's okay. We all know what Shulamit Aloni looks like.
29. For Sarah B. and the other wingnuts
Mikesailor ,   Miami, FL   (05.24.11)
Funny but this MK is pushing fot a one-state solution. I doubt that she is bright enough to realize that what she wishes for is a binational single state. You, however are advocating an ideological and racial purge of both Arabs and those who do not agree with, nor accept, your fascist vision. I often wonder whether or not such hatred of the 'other' is a prerequiste to such right-wing rants. The true face of 'Jewish' nationalism.
30. land of Israel is ours.
Elsie. ,   Gush Halav   (05.24.11)
