If there was never an Israel, "Palestine" would still be part of Syria, and no doubt would have been ruled by a dictator like every other Arab state, economically backward, with a population mostly under educated, with little industrial output, and contributing nothing to world prosperity. Because of the Jews, there could have been an independent Palestinine for the first time ever in 1948, and if the Palestinians choose to do so, rather than look to destroy Israel as a priority, there may still be a chance of an independent Palestine today, And altruism to poorer neigbours isn't a bad thing either.
