31. You knoww...
Oren ,   Israel/NJ   (05.26.11)
im kinda sick of people calling cast lead as full out assault and disproportionate.. did civilians die? yes but so did israeli civilians... name one war, one battle when disproportionate force was not used...how do you think someone eventually wins the battle or war, one side puts more force and mmmph than the other... because hamas doesnt have helicopters that means israel shouldnt use helicopters? there not fighting to keep things fair and balanced...if not rockets would be launched from gaza it would be quiet and after a while things would be eased....if arabs put down there guns there will be peace, if israel puts down her guns there will be no more israel
32. Give the jihadis on board this terror ship what they want.
Lee ,   Manchester UK   (05.26.11)
Israel must defend itself and it's citizens against Turkey's latest attempt to provoke war with Israel. By the way how are the Turks on 'humanity' as far as the under siege Kurds are in the festering murderous sink hole that Turkey has become?
33. Pal "Suffering": a new mall in Gaza. It's Horrible!
EZ ,   US   (05.26.11)
Gaza boasts the largest mall in Jewish land they OCCUPY...gee, it's terrible how bad they suffer: I heard they ran out of falafel balls in the food court because too many pals bought falafel For lunch on wednesday so they had to run to the market "downstairs" to acquire some more falafel mix from a vendor there. The problem was fixed quickly but the scars will remain. It's awful. Just awful.
34. #12 Alofs, the Hamas propagandist
Phil ,   Ireland   (05.26.11)
I have yet to see a starving Palestinian. Have you? I challenge you to condemn the anti-Semitic Hamas Charter in no uncertain terms. But of course your fascist right-wing ideology won't allow that.
35. #27 Double standards John
Phil ,   Ireland   (05.26.11)
So Israelis who advocate sinking the flotilla are like "rabid segregationists", but Palestinians who advocate killing of Jews are what? Loved by the world? This flotilla is sailing to those Palestinians who "democratically elected" a government who do just that.
36. #4 - imagine if all this flotilla money was instead donated
William ,   Israel   (05.26.11)
to causes for bridging gaps between Israeli and "Palestinian" children through sports camps, or even just to feed those starving in Egypt while Gazans are well-fed. The impact on humanity would be so much greater and so many more will benefit.... well, not exactly. The Leftists with an axe to grind or needing a boost in their otherwise lackluster lives would be left out in the cold. Then there would be those receiving nice salaries via govt positions who need to act out the anti-everything part and where would they go now?
37. #12 Ben Alofs, Bangor, UK
Albrecht Klein ,   Germany   (05.26.11)
Palestinians will never ever be able to feed themselves. Instead of working, they live from international welfare and and play Jihad all day long.
38. #34 Phil, Ireland
Albrecht Klein ,   Germany   (05.26.11)
This is correct. The average income in the Gaza strip is higher than in Egypt - and they do not even have to work for it.
39. #12 William gets it right
Cynthia ,   USA   (05.26.11)
Palestinians continue to fish, farm and export their goods. They also continue to build fine dining establishments, recreation centers, malls and villas. You forget to mention they continue to smuggle millions of dollars in weapons into Gaza to kill innocent Israelis. This is no problem for you because you support terror. The Karine A taught Israel how Gaza's seaport is used to fish weapons from the sea. The fact that Palestinian leadership refuses economic cooperation with Israel demonstrates their economy is obviously doing fine with the status quo. William has a definite advantage over you Ben. He keeps track of the tons of humanitarian aid delivered daily to the Palestinians and the efforts made by Palestinian leadership to blame Israel for Palestinian self-destructive behavior. He also knows the Arab/Muslim world doesn't lift a finger for the Palestinians unless it benefits their own agenda. Erdogan is obviously conflicted over this flotilla. At a time when he's seeking aid from the US and trying to elbow Iran out of the picture, this flotilla is a Turkish mistake waiting to happen.
40. Plan
John ,   Herzliya, Israel   (05.26.11)
Well, I just hope that the relevant persons in IDF are preparing for this piss flotilla. And I hope that they will also prepare plan B and C and maybe even D, because do not forget: Muslims are very weak on telling the truth and very strong on tricks.
41. #12 - You need to read my post again
William ,   Israel   (05.26.11)
I never said that Israel raised its legal war-time blockade which covers ONLY sea and air, and Israel transit points. If Rafah is open, and Egypt refuses to coordinate with Israel over people/material flow, then essentially (and legally) there is an exit point and therefore the blockade is not complete. You keep referring to agreements Israel is bound to but refuse to acknowledge that the other party does not. Under the Oslo Accords, the "Palestinians" agreed to work towards peace and end aggression towards Israel. They did none of that and started a terror war in 2000 - hence the smaller fishing area enacted in 2002. You also fail to acknowledge that fishermen were being used to smuggle in weapons and according to rules under war - Israel is permitted to block such activity. Since 2007, when Hamas declared an official war against Israel (despite the decades of 'unofficial' war against Israel), Israel was just in placing a blockade and could legally make it even more strict and limiting than it previously was. What I am pointing out is how the "Palestinians" use violence and re-directed blame to avoid the obligations they themselves made. They vote for a terror group, you claim they are democratic and we must accept them. Then when Hamas launches a war crime in "Palestinians" name, suddenly they become separate again. Enough of the double-speak, Ben Alof. "Palestinians" (and Arabs on a greater scale) must accept the consequences of their actions.
42. #13 - thanks for the compliment, Tim
William ,   Israel   (05.26.11)
I simply do the one thing people like Ben Alofs and other Leftist nut-jobs refuse to do.... actually READ the law.
43. #12 - YES, Ben Alofs, and Gazans SUBSIST on grass
CK Tan ,   Singapore, Singapore   (05.26.11)
That was in a report from a UK paper in 2008 on the STARVING Gazans facing great HUMANITARIAN crisis. In the SAME year, Gazans spent 100s of US$ millions during the 2-week Egyptian border breach. And the life-saving "ESSENTIALS" that they brought back from Egypt included TV sets, motorbikes, air conditioners, mobile phones, cigarettes, mattresses, etc. This year, LUXURY cars are among the "ESSENTIALS". And Gazans have GOOD taste - their fave BRANDS are Hyundai Sonatas, Kia and Hyundai SUVs, BMWs and 4WD Toyotas. Gazans too have to endure the OPPRESSIVE summer months in their shopping MALL. And ANOTHER new shopping CENTRE is opening soon. So what more PROOF does the world need to realise that, as you CLEVERLY put it, "Israel... continues to do everything to sabotage social and economic life" in Gaza?
44. Let them in...
(05.26.11)
Just don't let them out! And as for Ben Alofs - I don't remember the Oslo Accords allowing for suicide bombers and missiles fired into Israel every single day. So, don't quote only what suits you. If you don't accept ALL the terms of the Oslo accords, INCLUDING recognition of Israel, then don't claim ANY of it!
45. #11 if it's gaza bound I agree
yoav ,   ffm germany   (05.26.11)
46. To all,
birdi ,   israel   (05.26.11)
Ben Alofs has mentioned on this forum that he has visited & worked in Gaza before 2002. In May 2002 Alofs was denied entry into Israel. What Alofs does not know is that the conditions in Gaza have greatly changed for the better since his last ''visit.'' Google his name for more info.
47. Flotilla another dangerous media stunt waiting to happen
Martin ,   SA   (05.26.11)
We need to view this escapade by the Turks IHH as a disaster waiting to happen. Hopefully Im wrong but expect booby traps special live Tv set up etc. I hope the IDf and navy has prepared for possibility that we may even be invited into a booby trap if invited to search etc. We need to prare for a death trap Im uncertain in what form.. I would say we take charge without boarding the craft. They are vegeful people and have self inflicted scored to settle. They would offer virgins bliss in heave for any operative who die.
48. Obviously you haven't learned yours.
Ypip ,   Canada   (05.27.11)
49. Humanitarians...?
Marianne ,   Israel   (05.26.11)
Why can't they sail to Sudan, theres a really humanitarian crisis.
50. To Israel: Its All Moot Now, As We Say
Noah Lev ,   HollywoodUSa   (05.26.11)
Look, since Rafah is open, the flotilla is moot. They want a confronation (with Turkey) and a violent one. Israel can; destroy the engines..and let them float or boarde the main ship with its consequences (would have to arrest thousands), Transport those detained to Israeli jails..with its consequences. (Some are repeaters), but what for? The damage (Rafah) has been done. Israel now has to watch what is being shipped into the Strip from the Sinai. Israel could however, go back into the Strip..slice it into parts. Occupy salient areas..mine the beaches and sea lanes. In the process, it could destroy Hamas once and for all. My guess, it will allow the boats to dock..believing nothing will be gained otherwise.

Mark ,   T.a, Israel   (05.27.11)
Bring too a lot of UNDERWEAR that you will need for the ISRAELI PRISONS!!!
53. Sara 29
Stephen in New York   (05.27.11)
Important to confront Alof’s lies because there are those at these boards who are not fully informed about the complexities of this conflict and it is urgent to refute lies and misinformation for the benefit of those still forming their opinion and may be open-minded rather than ideological.
54. REST ASSURED ABPIT BEN ALOFS
BEN JABO ,   OSRAE;   (05.27.11)
He will remain safely in the UK, while inciting others to do the dirty work that he doesn't have be the balls to do It's so much safer that way
55. #52 Mark Re: Alofs
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (05.27.11)
Besides the underwear, he'll need an air-conditioner and "Tums" for the Tummy for the indigestion he's going to get from eating all that Kroov, also Niyar for the Sherutim, or can use his left hand if he forgets the last item
56. Search and Destroy, or Allow In
Noah Lev ,   hollywood, CA   (05.28.11)
Look everyone, the Pals are "winning" this war ( hear Charlies Sheen). Hamas will have an open border, to come and go as pleased and bring in tanks, artillery, more Grads, Velvels, Iranian rockets. Perhaps have a deep water port and airport, for jet fighters to land. (They have the land and can build runways). In the meantime Hez has 50,000 plus rockets..which can hit All of Israel. While attention is focused at the UNSC in Sept, arms will be brought into Gaza. The flotialla should not be a distraction or diverstion from salient matters. Either let it in..and use drones to observe real time, or knock out the engine of the lead ship (s) or play into Turkish hands by boarding. I hope Israel will us its head for this one..and NOT live in a fantasy world. (per a Disney movie)
57. Stop the flotillas
Supporter of Israel ,   USA   (05.30.11)
And if stopped, capture the American participants and make them stay in the Gaza permenantly if they love it so much. We don't need them here. Good riddance. (Rumor has it that there will be several American born "revolutionists" on board who are there for no other purpose than to advance their New World Order dream.) I say they are traitors to America and should be banned from re-entering the USA.
