Abbas acknowledges that Jerusalem will NOT be a shared capital, and it will NOT be divided. 6. Abbas acknowledges that there is no so-called "right of return."

There is no doubt that Abbas will get his declaration of statehood from the U.N. The U.N. does virtually nothing except pass anti-Israel resolutions. You could wall paper the U.N. with anti-Israel declarations. Than what? There will be no "Palestine". The declaration will be an even bigger fiasco than the 1988 "Palestine" statehood declaration. It is perfectly reasonable to expect that someone who says he wants peace talks to resume, meets with the other party and resumes peace talks. Simple, isn't it? But Abbas is not doing this, refusing to meet with Netanyahu, and then blaming Netanyahu. This is not perfectly reasonable, but is somehow accepted as reasonable by unreasonable and righteous people such as yourself.

Abbas is simply a professional liar. In his sickening New York Times editorial, Abbas stated that the whole purpose of seeking the 1967 lines was to use them at the UN as a springboard to seek the 1947 lines and force the "Right of Return" on Israel. Obama conveniently glossesover this. Abbas and Hamas have reconciled because neither of them wants to live in peace with Israel (or "co-exist", as Abbas says, which has a "hudna" character to it, not real peace). They don't want to end the conflict but to continue it "diplomatically". It is noteworthy that Abbas has refused to publically accept Obama's "2-states-for-2-peoples" demand (and Obama has declined to press him on it, but instead has stopped using that expression to avoid conflict with Abbas). Abbas has stated that they will "never" recognize israel as the Jewish State and national homeland for the Jewish people, but only as a "state for Jews and others". In other words, Abbas is only willing to recognize Israel as a binational Jewish-Arab state. This isn't the "2-state solution" or the "1-state-solution", but both of them combined, destroying the Jewish State - the PLO's real goal. Abbas' idea of 2 states is 2 Arab states, one with a beleagered and emigrating Jewish minority and the other a racist, exclusivist Palestine where no Jews are allowed. It is a hallmark of Obama's failure as a US leader that he has dishonestly portrayed the conflict as a border dispute, with emphasis on the unstable 1967 ceasefire lines as "borders" - rather than on Arab refusal to accept a Jewish State as a full equal, to end the conflict - on which they haven't budged and on which Obama hasn't pressured them at all. It is time for Obama to state unambiguously (is he even capable of that?) that the US will never maintain diplomatic or trade relations with any Palestinian state that refuses to accept Israel as the Jewish State, which the UN demanded of them long before there were any "1967 borders" - and will shut off all US aid and donations if they refuse to immediately negotiate on that basis.

If you want peace, amend the charter and recognize Israel as the Jewish state. Stop the incitement in your mosques, schools, newspapers, etc. Most of all, break your reconciliation with Hamas and come to the table with something to offer, not just your demands. Until that, as your "negotiator" stated, you're just "grinding water".
