This is a little biased. I am an Israeli surgeon. With the German passport I was able to undertake an advanced surgery fellowship in the UK it's not just money, having EU citizenship opens up opportunities for study and work which benefit Israelis and Israel. This article is a little unfair.

They have offered and are trying to make up for past errors, so I have no problem taking it. The European passport is more convenient. But Germany owes me. They paid reparations, and for that we are grateful, but dont think for a moment that that will ever restore the huge family I lost, the heritage, growing up in a "civilized" country.
