to the families of prisoners and parents of shalit
3. Baloney, and not first time deal within "hours"
Nour ,   One-State   (06.02.11)
Besides, Benjamin Millikowsy has no intention (ever) of cutting a deal. In his view, Shalit is expendable, and cannot commit to a fair deal acknowledging the thousands of Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli dungeons without trial.
4. Lie to presure Israel
Eric ,   Tel Aviv & NY   (06.02.11)
Unlike the prisoner who were arrested and convicted of crimes Gilad was kidnapped and held in conditions against the Geneva Convention. So why should anyone believe that there is a new deal where Hamas gets everything they demanded and Israel would agree to it? Just another PR ploy to make Israel look bad.
5. To Nour, One Sate = Jordan
Eric ,   Tel Aviv & NY   (06.02.11)
Israel hold trials and convicts/or acquits people on a case by case basis, so there is no backing to your claim "of Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli dungeons without trial." Also Israel allows visits, medical treatment, and religious freedom to these convicted criminals unlike Hamas that is holding Gilad in conditions that are inhumane and against the Geneva Convention.
6. Zaka,get the body bags ready
chaim.s ,   54th st. brooklyn ny   (06.02.11)
releasing a thousand murderous terrorist swines, who will resume blowing up and killing jews,is a crime against the people of Israel, and whoever is responsible for this,is nothing but a murderrer, and should be put on trial for sedition
7. Dungeons in Israeli jails
IlanaB   (06.02.11)
prisoners around the world would love to be in such dungeons- Benefits and privileges currently enjoyed by imprisoned terrorists include meat and cigarettes from the prison canteen, special food on Muslim academic programs that allow them to get degrees. The conditions in Israel's prisons recently led one Prison Services official to complain that jails have become “one big summer camp” for terrorists
8. Gilad shalit.
Dalia ,   Israel   (06.02.11)
Every Jewish mother in Israel is waiting for the good news to be real.
9. irresponsible reporting
Teddy   (06.02.11)
How can you report something like this. Once the deal is done when you have concreyte evidense then you report. How can tou report this type of thing before it hapens?
10. I'm sorry but no
Steve from Raleigh   (06.02.11)
Israel should legally declare Shalit KIA and close down all discussions forever. It's clear that either he's no longer living or they have no intention of ever freeing him.
11. to #5 Eric
Ali ,   Gaza   (06.02.11)
Trails on what basis ? ..they are freedom prisoners, resistance against occupation is legal and in line with international laws. they are not criminals. Yes Isael allows visits , and Hamas not, 'cause if Israel know the place , they will bomb the place killing Shalit and his Guards.
12. I agree Ali
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (06.02.11)
I agree with you Ali, but you are being hypocritical. You and I both know that the Arabs are the occupiers of Israel. If you believed what you said you would support the IDF struggle against the Arab occupation. Instead, Hamas and Fatah cry all the time that IDF resistance actions against them are a crime, and corrupt NGOs and politicians agree with them.
13. injustice
jewish whale ,   haifa, Israel   (06.02.11)
why are there 1000's of Arabs in jails used as pawns? If they are guilty of crimes they should not be released, and if they are being held as pawns, then that is unethical. Israel needs to stop using criminals as chess pieces.
14. I Wonder How Many pali's Getting Released
Wondering   (06.02.11)

15. 1,000 Cruel Terrorists to Re-Join the Jihad Against Jews
Linda Rivera ,   New York, USA   (06.02.11)
To maim, murder and kidnap more Jewish innocents. The sad thing is, poor Shalit may have already been murdered. There is no evidence whatsoever to suggest that he is actually alive. No Red Cross visits to confirm he is alive.
16. Same old same old
Al   (06.02.11)
Releasing killers to continue killing Jews. Netanyahu can talk the talk as he did in Washington but when push comes to shove he is a pussy. The entire Israeli leadership disgusts me. At times I wonder what prompted my kids to up and leave a Canada for Israel. I really wonder at times.

birdi ,   israel   (06.02.11)
they ran to israel to get away from you.poor guys.
18. #3 - Israeli dungeons....
William ,   Israel   (06.02.11)
complete with clean facilities, full meals, full rights to visits from family and Red Cross, full access to education, and full access to opportunities to gain skills and money while there. If only Shalit lived in such a dungeon.
19. #4 - agreed. Listen to the Egyptian's comments on Israel
William ,   Israel   (06.02.11)
He is so biased he can't even hide it. You'd think Hamas was giving the press release. But I highly doubt Israel will agree to release hundreds of hardened terrorists back into Hamas especially with the back door to Gaza wide open and Hamas itching to prove they are still terrorists despite being in unity govt.
20. #30 Linda Maybe The IDF Will Finish
Wondering   (06.02.11)
these 1000 off as they fire misslies, mortars and plant IED's for the Sole purpose of KILLING JEWS in Israel or maybe the Shin Beit and Mossad can pick them off one by one? Just Wondering?
21. 3
birdi ,   israel   (06.02.11)
sweety, israel is too young a country to have "dungeons" under her jails. how about an exchange between you & Shalit? at least we wouldnt have to read your hate filled posts here !!!
22. #7 - Nour forgets about the West Bank Arab...
William ,   Israel   (06.02.11)
who admitted to threatening the Israeli PM in order to get arrested and placed into an Israeli jail because he had no other opportunities in his life under PA rule. When Arabs lie to get INTO Israeli jails, something is wrong - both with Nour's narrative and the Israeli prison system.
23. #11- according to the law...terrorists are not freedom fight
William ,   Israel   (06.02.11)
"Palestinians" are in jail for: 1) acts of terrorism, which are defined as acts of violence against the civilian population. Nothing heroic or innocent about that. That includes women who try to stab a soldier at a checkpoint, or a Jew near the Old City, or a teenager smuggling a pipe bomb in his school bag. 2) acts of theft - before the wall went up, "Palestinians" were stealing everything from cars to agricultural equipment to crap off people's lawns. No matter the State, theft is still illegal, especially by illegal aliens who sneak across the border to commit the crime. I challenge you to produce the Intl Law which gives your ilk the right to "resist against occupation" by slaughtering civilians. Plus, your claim of occupation is tired and not upheld by the very resolutions you cite which say the land is "disputed".
