As a Scot, Jim should realize that many occupations began hundreds of years ago. For example, the English (who are essentially a Germanic tribe) occupation of the British Isles began over 1000 years ago and pushed the Celts north to Scotland. Scots tried for centuries to fight English rule and finally lost and as a result lost their language and independence. That is unfortunate. Some indigenous peoples, Jews, for example, are not willing to capitulate. And, in some cases, they even win and defeat the aggressive colonization efforts of their oppressors, the Arabs, who until the 7th century CE were restricted to one peninsula but after that militarily pushed themselves on all of North Africa, mesopotamia, etc. Bollan, Jews should be a model for Scots who want true independence for their people, their language and their culture from their English oppressors.
