1. Correction: Israel did not captured the West Bank in a 1967
Eric ,   Tel Aviv & NY   (06.04.11)
Ynet needs to correct this, Israel did not captured the West Bank in a 1967. Israel liberated the West Bank from Jordanian Occupation in 1967 after Jordan captured it in 1948. Until the story is told correctly there will continue to be people who think that the West Bank is occupied now.
2. Another non-starter.
Terry ,   Eilat - Israel   (06.04.11)
This French proposal should be called, ''How to Sell Rotten Fish by Soaking in Perfume.' It's still rotten & will give you food poisoning. But, it doesn't smell as bad. There is a concerted effort to shove this rotten fish down our throats. September at the UN is used as a threat. The US could stop this in 5 minutes if they wanted to. All they have to say is that they will cut off funding to the UN & to the Palestinians. Of course, the Obama misadministration wouldn't think of doing anything so effective. But, Congress might. John Bolton wrote a great piece on just this subject. John Bolton knows what he's talking about The Israeli position should be the same. Announce unequivocally that we will block all funds to the PA. It is also time to reject completely ANY independent Palestinian state. We don't need negotiations, we need to expel Fatah for violating the Oslo Accords repeatedly.

There is nothing to negotiate about. Jordan's leftover population are Jordan's problem. Jordanians go home.
5. NO to Abbas' 1967 fantasy
Brod ,   USA   (06.04.11)
Israel should say NO to Abbas' 1967 fantasy. Obama is NOT king or god of Israel. Judeo-Christian America has rejected Obama who cons his way to the WH by claiming that he is a Christian when he is a closeted Islamist-Jihadist. Since occupying the WH, he has sided with the Islamist-Jihadist world in their attempt at usurping Israel's liberated historic homeland of Judea and Samaria-Land of Israel. He has stopped the sale of needed weaponry to Israel, while selling and arming the Islamist-Jihadist countries in the Middle East with offensive weaponry such as F-16s to Saudi Arabia whose thugs attacked America on 9/11, and to Egypt that is now being dominated by Islamist-Jihadist fanatics-the Muslim Brotherhood-the father of all Islamist-JIhadist terrorism around the world. What is Obama's latent agenda? It is obvious, contrary to what he says, he is actually arming the Islamist-Jihadist countries in the Middle East so that they can wipe Israel off the map eventually. And now he is siding with the Islamist Jihadists-Fatahan/Hamas in their attempt at usurping the Land of Israel on a silver plate. Israel must remain strong, united and resolute in rejecting these dark forces' attempt at reducing Israel into a tiny indefensible enclave in the region so that the Islamist-Jihadist Arabs in the region, that are being armed by Obama with offensive weaponry, could easily overwhelm and subdue Israel.
6. Delusions
Palestinian   (06.04.11)
Now I do really believe they put something in your brains .Delusions Sweetheart Tel Aviv is occupied as well as Haifa and Safad and Askalan go back to where you came from
7. #2 Feeling checkmated Terry?
Nour ,   One-State   (06.04.11)
You claim: "We don't need negotiations, we need to expel Fatah for violating the Oslo Accords repeatedly. " First off, it wasn't Fatah that signed the lousy (and con scam) or Oslo. It was the PLO. Fatah hasn't recognized Israel, and never will. Second, wasn't 300,000 new settlers in the West Bank a violation of the multiple accords since Oslo? Third, was it not mentioned in the lousy Camp David Accord that you had 5 years to get the hell out of the West Bank and Gaza Strip? We can also play ball - Terry. It's time for our very own unilateral actions. Catch!
8. To No. 6 , Palusions
Gabe Yakmore ,   Canada   (06.04.11)
Living on handouts for generations makes you a pitiful bunch. All you know is taking, destroying and killing.
9. Aren't you ashamed of yourselves?
Lippy ,   Very proud Israeli   (06.04.11)
In your headline of the Hebrew version of this article you write (translation) "Netanyahu shoved into a corner ", thereby intimating that Abbas now had the upper hand. Maybe your paper should reconsider the mode of your headlines. I hope that you will print this talkback.
10. The French will bring accordions and lots of garlic
Marimba Xylophone   (06.04.11)
The Israelis will bring hummus (invented by us), and as there is no such thing as Palestinians in actual fact, not sure what "they" will bring... Suggested location: Vichy is lovely this time of year...
11. Quiche Eaters - get lost!
Seymour Butz   (06.04.11)
12. #10 you invented hummus? Sure and perhaps soy sauce too?!
Wissam ,   Palestine   (06.04.11)
13. French Peace Talks Mean "Surrender"
Edward ,   Savannah, USA   (06.04.11)
France is going to give Israel a "proper" White Flag, and then teach Israel on the "proper" way to SURRENDER!!! There shouldn't be ANY negotiations for anything until Gilad Shalit is released from his torture cell!!! This has gone on long enough!!! Shalit represents ALL of Israel but the voters won't seem to understand this until it is too late!!! Get a Jewish government in place NOW!!!
14. Bring a list
Ralph Haglund ,   Lund, Sweden   (06.04.11)
1) List everything Israel has done after 1967 for the palestinians, it is a LONG list. 2) List all promises the palestinians have fulfilled - zero - and say that Israel is first waiting for those, then it is ok to go on with discussions. No terror, no hate propaganda, no illegal weapons, put terrorists in prison and KEEP them there.
15. great now israel will keep building while we
abdalla ,   plantation   (06.04.11)
wait for a state
16. No to French Conference
John Cone ,   USA   (06.04.11)
Israel should not go to the conference. No more appeasement No more Compromise No more broken Promises. No more rewriting of history and International Law by the great Powers.
17. #7 Your Checkmated
Ralph Levy ,   USA   (06.04.11)
Camp David did not address anything about the West Bank and Gaza only the Sinai. Second settlements don't violate International Law read your History Eugene Rostow Under Secretary of state author of UN resolution 242 wrote in 1991 that Israel and Jews had a right to settle the West Bank, and that the British Mandate cannot be rescinded. He also said that Israel was not required to go back to the 67 borders. Nour your the one that is Checkmated.

hey nour one state-let me run this by you. OK, here we go one state, dig this-nour rhymes with dour, scotland is referred as a land of dour people. So why not relocate to scotland, along with#6 , #15 might also want to sit and wait there while Israel builds their state
20. #7 Nour, thanks! your comment made my day!
Salma ,   Palestine   (06.04.11)
21. Nour# 7
Harvey ,   London   (06.04.11)
At some stage you, the Palestinians and the wider Arab world must face the fact that rather then nation building, all your energy has been channeled into destroying israel . After each successive failure ,you demand restoration of the previously held status quo with no reciprocal acknowledgement of israels status as an independent Jewish nation I hate to be the one to tell you , but in the real world life does not work that way . We are each individually responsible for the cause and effect of our actions and you have chosen your path and destiny. Your path of confrontation and belligerence has seen you take many steps backwards . In fact you remind me of the guy at the black jack table on 18 asking for another card and then demanding his stake back when he strikes out with a 4
22. #19 Are you on mushrooms?
Nour ,   One-State   (06.04.11)
Acid perhaps?
23. #17 Some Historical Clarifications
Nour ,   One-State   (06.04.11)
The Framework Agreement DOES mention 5-years grace period for evacuation of the West Bank and Gaza. Now the terms of the actual agreement mention: "The withdrawal of Israeli troops from the West Bank and Gaza to occur after an election of a self-governing authority to replace Israel's military government" Almost 15 years have elapsed since Fatah (NOT HAMAS) took over the PA. Clearly, you have breached your agreement with Egypt, not just Annapolis, Sharm, Paris, etc.
24. #17 My pleasure Salma
Nour ,   One-State   (06.04.11)
Ta7iyati ilik.
25. To any palestinians or arabs....
Oren   (06.04.11)
If the palestinians were to get a state within the 67 borders or damn close to it, with no israeli soldiers, no checkpoints, nothing... with the wb n aza together as a state for the palestinians.....Would you be satisfied or would you continue to resist and fight for more land? Serious question..please answer honestly
26. back at you nour one state
daze ,   US   (06.04.11)
Hey one state -I am sober as a judge. Never mind that, what do you think of my concept and the accompanying suggestion-think you might want to take us all up on it?
27. In September
Gregg ,   Haifa, IL   (06.04.11)
In September I'll laugh at all of the TB here when the UN will vote for the creation of a Palestinian state on the 67's border - cause that what will happen, inevitably. Israelis had 44 years to have "fun" by colonizing the West Bank on Palestinians behalf... but the wheel has turned and it's time to pay back
28. #25 Serious Answer.
Salma ,   Palestine   (06.04.11)
Yes We will be satisfied, but you forget to mention that Palestinian refugees will go back to "Israel" their homeland.
29. French bid
Mike Carmel ,   Rishon le Zion   (06.04.11)
Now that Abbas has agreed to this he should be told by Sarkozy that it will only happen when Gilad Shalit the FRENCH CITIZEN is released without condition.
30. Abbas once again goes through the peace making motions
zionist forever   (06.04.11)
Long ago Abbas ruled out negotiation in favour of trying to bypass talks and go to the UN in September knowing they will give him everything he demands without having to make any concessions. We have seen this so many times with this man. First in the last month of the ten month building freeze. No progress was made in that month and when the freeze ended he walked away on the ground israel was building settlements and Bibi was seen as the bad guy. When Obama recently made his speech about his desire for talks for about a week Abbas wanted talks then he was back to his plans to let the UN grant him a state. Now he is telling the French what they want to hear and first chance he gets he will walk away blaming it on Israel. I am sick of this man and his games and the sooner him and his puppet Obama are gone the better.
