31. #13 US not that good a "friend"
David N ,   Haifa, Israel   (06.07.11)
Sad but true, the US has NOT "always" protected Israel, and has never done so without considerable bullying and unwarranted pressure. Truman tried to discourage Jews from an independent, Jewish state in 1947, and in 1948 Truman authorized an embargo on defensive weapons purchases by Israel. The US was not even an ally until AFTER the Six-Day war. No point in repeating the myth of the US always being there for Israel--far, far from it. And still no US recognition of Jerusalem as a part of Israel, or any US embassy in Israel's capital. But for the genuine friends of Israel in the US, and the Congress, a heart-felt thanks.

You are correct! And Abbas and the "Palestinians" are the masters at finding excuses to stall peace talks, including accusing Israel of stalling while it is the "Palestinians" who refuse to talk. Definitely something of which you should feel proud.

When and where does the IDF go on killing unarmed people? Oh yes, those that hide behind their own, and those that break international law by crossing a border after being warned they will ge fired upon. They become another type of "suicide bomber" sans bomb. And yes, Jews are indigenous to the region, having founded a nation thousands of years ago. The ARABs came from ARABia in 637AD, get it? You obviously do NOT know history very well. And ok, I'll label you an anti-semite, a term which is not useless. It IS paper thin as it is easy to tell.

Once an Anti -semite always an Anti-semite. Sound okay ?
36. Israel has been sitting at the table, ready to negotiate for
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (06.07.11)
the past two and a half years!! The basis for all talks has been and must continue to be UN Security Council Resolution, 242, and not any initiative by people whose hostility to Israel is clearly woven into attempts to circumvent UN Security Council Resolution, 242. And, in 242 - agreed by all parties to the conflict!! - the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) are to withdraw to "secure and defensive boundaries" and not to any other lines not specified in 242.
37. Shame on Clinton...Israel has ALWAYS been ready and willing.
Eric L ,   Chicago, US   (06.08.11)
There is nothing Israel can do to force peace on the Palestinians....Israel must wait until Palestinians and the Arab world grow up....Until the Palestinians reject the culture of death and accept the right of Jews to some well defined and secure autonomous state...Hamas moto sums it best....'we love death like the Jews love life'....
38. #37 CLINTON HAS "NO" SHAME
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (06.08.11)
After all of Bill's shenanigan's she still allowed him to come home Hillary most probably intends to run for the Presidency in 2012, American's haven't forgotten that she tried to foist Hillarycare on them while Bill was in office Besides, I have a difficult time trying to think of any one of Hillary's Diplomatic efforts that came to fruition We see her & Obama, pouding the lecterns demanding that rulers abdicate Obama thinks that he's King of the World, Hillary's acting as his Chamberlain

#13- ALL Israel's citizens have full civil rights. Arabs sit on the Supreme Court and in the Knesset. Any deviations are due to arabs' identifying and supporting the enemies of Israel, who only want Israel's destruction. Druze (who are arabs) can fully exercise their rights as they fully support Israel. It is the ARABS that are "based on the preservation of the rights of only one group of people" and are the real "right wing extremist governments". You have it backwards. #31- As history is not always black and white, note should be made that, in the end, Truman did support the establishment of Israel and immediately recognized it, contrary to the wishes and actions of the US State Dept.
