Israel needs to just pull out of the U.N.!!! There is no reason or advantage for staying there and by pulling out, it can determine its' OWN destiny and tell the rest of the world where to get off. THEN, it would NO LONGER be bound by nor have to put up with all of their Anti-Israel B.S.!!!

I am sure she is very generously rewarded by her ME clients for championing their causes against Israel. I have noticed that most of her statements are about Israel - maybe this should read "exclusively" about Israel. Anybody saw any statement from her about Assad's criminal ruthlessness in dealing with his people? Maybe if I surf the net I'll find one because there ought to be lots since this is definitely a major Human Rights issue. There is a HUGE disparity between Syrian authorities ruthlessly murdering almost 2,000 Syrian civilians and 23 foreign invaders loosing their lives as Israel protects its borders from invasion. Actually about half that number since some of them died at their own hands when they themselves detonated the minefield. Navi is evil personified, like Assad, Nasrallah, Mashaal, the devils over in Iran etc. Oh! How could I forget to make dishonourable mention of Erdogan

The Eritrean refugees that are flooding into Israel is a result of Eritrea's dictatorship and forced slavery of its people. I wonder how she feels about the ongoing massacre of Christians and Animists in Dharfur. Or about tribal violence in the Congo -- six million dead in five years. Neither did she opine about the deeply troubling situation in Sierra Leone and the Ivory Coast. Or Somalia. Or Zimbabwe. Or Libya. Or Jordan. Or Iran. But a handful of dead Syrian protesters -- that's deeply troubling. Assad has been butchering his own people for several months now, but that does not appear to trouble her. The United Nations should be dismantled.

Nice for Ms. Pillay to equivocate between Syria encouraging a protest at Israel's border, allowing its citizens (maybe even paying them) to enter a Syrian-laid minefield and then breach the border fence--and Israel defending the integrity of its borders. The correct terms must be used to portray the reality. These are self-professed genocidal border-bashers, not mere "protesters returning to their bucolic villages." If they are being paid by the Syrian gov't $100, & the families of the dead $10,000, this is financial incitement to commit genocide of the Jewish minority of the State of Israel. Obviously, this is to deflect media attention away from current Syrian suppression of its own people, but that is not the main point to be made. The main point is that the int'l media is misrepresenting what is actually occuring, & that the Arab hoardes storming Israel's borders are not democracy-seekers, but genocidaires.

This woman is another one of those antisemites who seem not to give a damn about the thousands of unarmed protestors who are being killed in Syria by the Assad government. Where is her 'verbal' condemnation for Assad's atrocities? Israel has every right to defend its borders and will continue to do so even though it may mean death to anyone foolish enough to try to invade a sovereign state. These folks have been warned many times of the consequences for trying to breech the borders of Israel. Hopefully they realize that they are totally responsible for their actions.

just wanted to know, if there is a way of handling this situation w/o getting these pics. I mean people that illegally cross a foreign border is a violation against a sovereign state - it is totally understandable that Israel is protecting its borders like it does. But I would like to know, if the IDF could also control the crowds by teargas, rubber bullets or also capture everyone, imprison them and sent them back...? Still I really see the measures also now that they take 24 killed against 70 people killed by Syria itself in their demonstrations...

Further, Madam, any sovereign country has the right under international law to defend its border. The hostiles who approached Israel's border were not at all "peaceful". Peaceful protest does NOT include the throwing of rocks at Israeli soldiers. Many an Israeli soldier has been seriously injured, paralyzed or even killed by "peaceful rock throwing Arabs"! Many don't realize that you are a South African and you were the first "non-White Woman" to be appointed to the High Court Bench in the post-Apartheid era. Madam, I too was born in South Africa and lived under the oppressive Nationalist Regime for 40 years and I am fully aware of the antagonism of the South African Colored, Indian and Black people against Israel due to Israel's cooperation with South Africa on military matter. Some report indicate that hostility against Israel has turn to blatant Anti-Semitism in South Africa and it seem that South Africans of Color have forgotten how many Jews, like the Late Helen Susman, fought Apartheid! By your actions you spit on their memory and that of my father who died fighting Apartheid and championing the rights and human right of the victims of Pass Laws, the brutality of the South African Police and the injustices of the regime! Therefore I accuse you of total bias against Israel. You have seen fit to condemn Israel over and over but have miserably failed in your task by not condemning the Hamas bombing of Israelis in Sderot and the Negev settlements. You have done nothing to secure the release of Gilad Shalit, kidnapped by Hamas almost 5 years ago from Israel and held incommunicado and without any access to the International Red Cross. They did NOT force the UN to enforce Security Council Resolution 1701 after the end of the Second Lebanon War which called for the disarming of Hezbollah and restricting Hezbollah to North of the Litani River!

since no country in the world ever had to handle a mass attempt to cross a border. If the UN has a better way to deal with such a thing, please, speak up. otherwise, accept that what they did was the ONLY way to deal with it.

Ah, the old ''disproportionate response'' BS. Maybe we should shower the rioters who attempt to invade our country with rose petals? I think, however, we could be more creative in methods of crowd control. I would fill tanker trucks with excrement (merde, alors!) and use high-pressure hoses to blast the rioters. I think it would be very effective. Of course, then the UN would accuse us of copying their own tactic - BS.
