1. Bible Prophecy
Larry ,   Soddy Daisy   (06.07.11)
The reunification of the city of Jerusalem in 1967 caused celebration among the Jews around the world but it also set the stage for controversy surrounding Judaism's most sacred piece of real estate, a scenario that is according to Bible prophecy. As the Jewish people celebrate the reunification of the holy city, Jerusalem every year since 1967, they also continue to watch how this unique city becomes more and more controversial each and every day. Political leaders around the world continue to call for the city to be divided to serve both the Israelis and the Palestinians as the capital city for their two states. This scenario that is being played out today was foretold thousands of years ago. Jesus, in His Olivet Discourse, found in Like 21:24 stated that Jerusalem will be trodden down of the Gentiles, non-Jewish world leaders, until He returns to earth to liberate the city. The prophet Zechariah also spoke of Jerusalem as the center of controversy, Zechariah 12:2. Zechariah 1:14-16 revealed that Jesus, in a pre-incarnate appearance to the prophet, is aggressively possessive of Jerusalem. He is very displeased with those non-Jews who control the Temple Mount with arrogant security and the Lord revealed that one day He will come back to Jerusalem to build His Temple and there to dwell among His people, the Jewish people, forever. Jerusalem Day celebrations are indeed a reminder that Bible prophecy will be fulfilled.
2. Navi is deliberately presenting the situation backwards
Harry Wright ,   UK   (06.07.11)
and this shows her absolute bias against Israel and therefore her unsuitability for the job she hold. She should have stated that the government of Syria has a duty to ensure that its security personnel prevented its citizens from converging at the border for the purpose of forcing their way into Israel which constitutes an invasion of a sovereign state. That in itself is an act of war. She is trying to pass the event off as a "protest" which it was not at all. It was an attempted invasion in which the participants refused to heed clear warnings given by Israel. She should be calling on Syria to investigate this incident because Israel had already notified and filed a complaint to the UN prior to the event. It is Syria that now has to explain itself. By releasing her statement earlier, Navi had hoped to preempt Israel and put her spin on it first. It is not going to work.
3. Kurds file complaints to UN over Syria Occupation
EthioJegna ,   Addis Ababa Ethiopia   (06.07.11)
Deputy Ambassador to United Nations Haim Waxman hands UN secretary-general stern letter reading, 'This incident reflects a blatant attempt by Syria to distract international attention from violent repression of its own people & its illegal occupation of Kurdistan' On another note, the UN General Secretary Ban Kimon praised Ethiopian Prime Minister Meles Zenawi for building the largest dam in Africa, Renaissance Dam, on the Nile River hereby neutralizing Egypt and its terrorist tentacles in Gaza and the Horn of Africa.
4. So what is she doing about it, except complaining about it?
Ypip ,   Canada   (06.07.11)
5. Speak Up Bibi
ACortez ,   Anaheim, CA   (06.07.11)
Netanyahu should confront the UN over its cowardice when Arab states kill their own people or when these states send civilians to die for their cause. The UN has done nothing to Iran or Syria for killing their citizens who protested peacefully but will chide Israel for showing restraint that two dictatorships will not. UN is a joke and should be treated as such.
6. why not give them their land back instead
tea man ,   Marjayoun   (06.07.11)
of killing them on the border that you made up and the UN does not recognize Syria is saying bring it on Palestinian are ready
7. sancity of borders is becoming a real problem!
O v a d y a h ,   Halestones   (06.07.11)
time to bring out the non lethal weapons - I understand there are some pretty effective experimental ones-
8. assiighning
IRV ,   USA   (06.07.11)
9. UN Blame
IRV ,   USA   (06.07.11)
The UN spokesperson never mentioned the excessive force used by the invading Arabs who violated the sovereign border of Israel. They violated UN policy while UNIFIL abandoned their mandate. The UN is useless as a moral institution. Great job Israel!
10. This is not a demonstration. These aren't demonstrators.
They're trespassing, ,   We'll have none of t   (06.07.11)
11. Citizens of Syria shouldn't agree to serve as a tool
(06.07.11)
for their regime and put themselves in danger. Instead of blindly obeying their leaders, what the demonstrate should do is start thinking for themselves, and carry a flag of peace with Israel. Let's see them change their mantra of hatred to Israel, which their irresponsible leaders shoved into their brains. That is their real Naksa.
12. Hmm..
John ,   Herzliya, Israel   (06.07.11)
..raises the question of unnecessary and excessive use of force," she added... So what would you suggest Israel should do? Let them enter the country and throw every resident into sea? Would that trouble you? Would that raise any questions in UN? Btw, did we hear her condemn Syrian government for killing thousands?
13. pillay and goldstone
marcel   (06.08.11)
pillay and before her goldstone have been inciting the world against israel using the united nation stacked arab committees to launch fact finding missions leading to judgements, furthur investigations and potential sanctions. goldstone and pillay both tread gingerly with hamas, hezbollah, and syria and mainly focus on israel. They should know that they are also in the crosshairs and if harm produced by their work hits israel, they will not be untouched. Goldstone and pillay should be mindful of their own security as they maliciously use their legal tricks to unfairly and they know it, unfairly malign israel. What methods does pillay think can be used to stop 1000 mad syrians v iolating israel sovereignty? honey cake and kisses??/And how does she know how many people have been killed. Pillay and goldstone should watch their backs from here on. You arebeing watched.
14. #6 tea man - Israel is NOT obliged to
CK Tan ,   Singapore, Singapore   (06.08.11)
As CLEARLY stated in the UNSC resolution, Israel does NOT have to return ALL the territories it gained as a result of wars waged AGAINST Israel by Syria and Egypt.
15. Navi FIDDLES while Syria was about to JOIN the HRC
CK Tan ,   Singapore, Singapore   (06.08.11)
This HEAD of the Human Rights (and I use this term VERY loosely) Council did NOT blink when Syria was about to JOIN her group. This came more than a month AFTER it became clear that Syria was (and still is) MURDERING its own people. How IRONIC that she is NOW reacting so QUICKLY about the well-being of protesters.
16. and they harmed our soldiers
shlomo ,   israel   (06.08.11)
one soldiers equal more than a million lives of those so called protesters.
17. complain to UN over border
observer ,   Egypt   (06.08.11)
at last, Israel seeks border and gives up expansionism?
18. #6 They attacked hoping to kill us and they LOST
GZLives   (06.08.11)
so maybe if they attack again on our current border like any other country we will defend ourselves and if that means killing all of them - that would be OK with you right? They become martyrs and you get to have bragging rights and can say the jews killed all these people right? That's the game you Arabs play - always killing your own people and blaming it on others. Don't worry, lucky we aren't Arabs and won't do what you would do which is kill every last one. Ask Bashar Assad what he'd do ... idiot
19. border clashes to #6:
steve ,   usa   (06.08.11)
You are so right! Israel created that border after repelling Syrian wars...more than once. But the border could have been in Damascus. The Palestinians aren't getting that land anyway. As for killing, your source I guess was the Syrian media controlled by Assad. No exaggerations there!
20. @John #12
jjvanka ,   The Hague, NL   (06.08.11)
Israel knows very well what it should do in case of illegal border crossing. It is also aware of the negative consequences of killing unarmed people on their own territory. But Israel seems to put a higher value on the assumption that intimidation will prevent other manifestations of this kind. Israel will soon find out that its maths is wrong.
21. There is no 'Naksa Day'
Niv ,   Israel   (06.08.11)
There is no 'Naksa Day', please stop using this term. the Palestinians just invented this day so they can have another day to try hurt Israel. 'Naksa Day' means absolutely nothing.
22. THE GOLAN IS JEWISH LAND IN JUDEA
Josephus Flavius ,   Golan, Judea   (06.08.11)
THE GOLAN IS JEWISH LAND IN JUDEA. ARABS GO BACK TO SYRIA THAT SUPPORT YOU.... Josephus Flavius, Joseph Ben Matthias
23. brain dead UN
bob ,   canada   (06.08.11)
Hey. what's all fuss about... UN always takes underdog's side, for them the looser is a king. Let tem chirp, and let pals die, if they cant do anything else with their lives..
24. #6. No giving back of land. Syria forfeited the Golan
Harry Wright ,   UK   (06.08.11)
when it attacked Israel and lost that war. Syria maintains its side of the border on the Golan and prohibits its citizens from entering without permission. So Syria has to explain the presence of busloads of Syrians at that prohibited area. That in itself is proof that the attempted invasion was a Syrian contrivance. That was Assad's abnormal baby. Bring WHAT on??? I don't see anywhere that Israel is bringing on anything. The Israelis are where they should be, but that bunch of Syrians were where they should not have been. So who is bringing on??? I do see however, that Syria is in plenty trouble. If you were capable of analytical thinking, you would not have written the rubbish that is in your post.
25. #1 -- get real and don't twist
jacob ,   Encino, CA   (06.08.11)
Jesus and his heavenly Father would want nothing to do with your evil state. "your house is abandoned to you" he said. Dream on whatever you wish to smoke and twist whatever words you like. You shall soon find out whose side you're on. (hint: the one that took Jesus out)
26. why hiding
observer ,   Egypt   (06.08.11)
even they turned out to be Palestinians.
27. complaint over the border or over the clashes
observer ,   Egypt   (06.08.11)
the clashes so many people watched on the screen, but border no one heard of.
28. #26 observer
barabula ,   romania   (06.08.11)
can you define "palestinian"?
29. observer - so what will YOU call it?
CK Tan ,   Singapore, Singapore   (06.08.11)
ALL the major news media DESCRIBES the demarcation between Israel and Syria as a BORDER. Cos it is a GENERIC term. But hey, observer is ANYTHING but. So thanks for the LAUGHS again.
30. No land should be given back!
common sense ,   USA   (06.08.11)
So the Turks conquer Israel, took their land, then gives it to the British,in which says to the Jews here take a small piece of your land, meanwhile 5 countries attack Israel and are defeated, gaining some of their rightful ownership back,no one mentions that the Palestinians do not have their own culture, they are mostly Arabs that immigrated into those lands after 1967,it was sparsely populated prior. Makes no sense to me.Leave them the hell alone.
