1. "Palestinians" = Terrorism - stop supporting it
Hinda ,   SF Bay Area   (06.09.11)
The "Palestinians" Should accept Israel's right to be there. The "Palestinians" should stop being terrorists and supporting terrorism. The "Palestinians" need to learn how to love their children more than they HATE life. If life is so terrible in Israel then why stay there - go to any other of the 57 Muslim countries. There's a solution!
2. Barking Kat, stuff it, loser!
Marco ,   Spain   (06.09.11)
Read my lips, you will go back to Mecca where you belong!
3. Erekat must just have escaped from a
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (06.09.11)
Monthy Phyton movie...oh well...
4. Reasonable
LebanonPride ,   Canada   (06.09.11)
Seem like the Palestinians demands are much more reasonable than Netanyahu.
5. Pre Conditions
Pixelated Dwarf ,   USA   (06.09.11)
1) Disarm the various terror groups inside the occupied territories that the Arabs are holding. 2) Recognize Israel's right to exist 3) Stop teaching hate Once these are met, the civilized world may take you for more than a group of thugs and bandits who are whining about a country that never existed.
6. there was a settlement freeze
sweeter than honey ,   far away   (06.09.11)
for six months, extended to ten, and nothing given in return, except of course all the property expropriated around ramallah.
7. Peace?
Dale ,   USA   (06.09.11)
Here we go again. It seems that they always insist on a settlement freeze and then drag their damn feet until they then gradually insist on East J and the right of return. Over and over. Now they want to gamble with the UN. Go for it, and see what you will get. NOTHING. You are going to have to give something to get something.
8. #4 LebanonBS - so DEFINE "reasonable"
CK Tan ,   Singapore, Singapore   (06.09.11)
And EXPLAIN why the palis's DEMANDS are "reasonable" and WHY Netanyahu's conditions are NOT.
9. #4 - to a person who wishes Israel to disappear
William ,   Israel   (06.09.11)
yeah - I'll bet Erekat's demands are "reasonable". But guess what - when we were reasonable...in 1948 and 1967, you weren't. Those days are over, and after losing several wars (after rejecting back then what "Palestinians" are demanding today), Arabs don't get to call the shots anymore. Speaking of "Lebanese pride", isn't it spectacular how a huge ass gas field off Israel and Cyprus' coast doesn't fall into Lebanon's waters? There is a G-d!
10. Fatcat Erakat (and @#4)
shmeelshiya ,   canada   (06.09.11)
I thought he resigned over the wiki-pal leaks. Why is he still enjoying his big cigar and all the money he stole? And @ #4, what exactly do you have to be proud of Lebanon for?
11. LebanonPride / 4
Eaglebeak ,   Left Coast, USA   (06.09.11)
Wow...that carries a lot of weight coming from somebody so proud of Lebanon that they live in Canada.
12. to 4
john Darren ,   cairns-Australia   (06.09.11)
The "Palestinians" are not in any position to demand anything-ever.
13. #1
LebanonPride ,   Canada   (06.09.11)
So, in other words, they should recognize Israel but Israel shouldn't recognize them? Where is the logic there? Another thing. Ever cross your mind that their 'hate' comes from losing their children (and other things) to Israel's occupation?
14. Erekat sounds much more reasonable than Bibi
Moshe Cryan   (06.09.11)
Nothing that the Palestinians are asking for is unreasonable and are in line with the view of the rest of the world, while in contrast it is Israel that is now seen as being led by extremists. Amazing how quickly the tables have been turned under Netanyahu.
15. # 4 Reasonable
Alex ,   USA   (06.09.11)
You right, it's most reasonable for a Lebanese living in Canada. Moron.
16. We just went through that song & dance
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (06.09.11)
It didn't work, we would be fools to do it again This Bozo wants a "Settlement Freeze" as a precondition to talks the other Bozo,Abbas, wants a prior agreement that talks be based on the pre 1967 lines Now, would they mind telling us what they're willing to concede other than wasting time in demanding pre-condtions?
17. #4 Lebanon - UNREASONABLE
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (06.09.11)
We just went through a 10 month long settlement freeze, Abbas didn't sit his sorry ass down until the last month Now we have Fayyad wants a setlement freeze and your other clown Abbas wants a pre-arrangement of Israel accepting the pre -67 lines That's why Lebaon is a loser, they have creatures like you doing the thinking BTW-How come your in Canada instead of Lebanon, afraid they'll give you a gun to fight in defense of the motherland ?
18. let's see more preconditions from the Fake "Patestinians"
J1 ,   Earth   (06.09.11)
Make all the preconditions you want. They are never going to happen. Losers. Lost 6 wars and a failed 70 year Intafada. Israel is a developed country and the people are the 7th happiest on earth. While the fake Pals live with hate. Lets see him climb down from that tree. Annex the liberated territories now and send the Jordanians packing.
19. you lose. pick again. boy are you a slow learner
ralph   (06.09.11)
20. as usual way behind, catch up or go home
ralph   (06.09.11)
21. How could Israel benefit from talks with the P.A.?
Chaim ,   Israel   (06.09.11)
Can anyone provide a rational answer to the very simplest question regarding "peace talks" with the P.A.? How could Israel possibly benefit from talks with the P.A.? There has never been a rational answer to this simple question. Not from Obama, Nor Peace Now. Nor Labor. Nor Meretz. Nor anybody. What does Israel have to lose by talking to the P.A.? Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, defensible borders, freedom from mass rocket attacks, freedom from inundation by hostile Arabs... In short, EVERYTHING! Erekat can take his demands and stuff them where the sun don't shine.
22. No, No, No!!!
Dallas ,   Canada   (06.09.11)
Nothing has changed since Khartoum. The Pals will coquettishly avoid negotiations until they find that there will be nothing for them to negotiate about. Build, build, build Israel. Any unilateral UN grab is the signal to annex and solve the problem once and for all. Golan is already annexed and for good and moral reasons (imagine if Israel had not??) Same goes for Judea and Samaria because we know that the Palis would abuse the high ground just as Syria insisted on doing. We know this would happen. There is no evidence to suggest anything different.
23. Forget it Erekat. We're wise to u and done.
(06.09.11)
24. preconditions
David   (06.09.11)
Well, in my opinion it's neither Mr. Erekat nor Mr. Abbas or even Mr. Haniyeh of Hamas who deserve the blame (or as they would each deem it "credit") for this, but none other than the occupant of the White House-- who ironically campaigned very decisively on the importance, above all else, of having no "preconditions" for appeasing Iran. Of course general principles were never more important to him than specific goals and emotional inclinations toward specific geopolitical causes, despite appearances to the contrary, and I believe those inclinations should now be clear if they ever were in dispute.
25. Erekat Still Affected by Anesthesia
Douglas Fireman ,   Chicago, USA   (06.09.11)
The preconditions that Palestinian leadership expect from Israel are out of the question. No moving to 67 borders period. Palestinian leadership must negotiate face to face with Israel. P. Leadership is holding up the works by not recognizing, in word and deed, the right of Israel to exist. Their attempt to play the UN card should be squelched. How can the United Nations approve a Palestinian state with a terrorist leadership who orders the shooting of rockets and mortars into Israel and who, as proxies of Ahmadinehad, are attempting to spread their perverted teachings of Islam throughout the region? The Saner members of the United Nations should demand that Palestinian and Israeli governments solve their own problems. The imposition of a Palestinian state in the region by anti-Zionist/Israel members in the UN would be counter productive to peace. Statehood has much to do with mutual recognition and peaceful coexistence in the region which has never been part of the Hamas plan.
26. But it wasn't a precondition in 2007, was it, Mr. Erekat?
Jewish Warrior   (06.09.11)
Or have you forgotten how you almost reached a peace deal, according to the Palestine Papers and George Bush, but backed out at the last second, or how you set a new precondition for peace talks with Israel, namely the freeze on settlements, most of which Israel will keep, something you never demanded before? Or are you simply presuming that you can get a better deal with a pro-Palestine President in the White House, and making Israel jump through hoops? You act like you are doing Israel a favor by negotiating with it, not yourselves. In any event, you are a pathological liar. That was proven beyond doubt during the Battle of Jenin.
27. Barkat must be referring to illegal arab settlements
BJL   (06.09.11)
Judea and Samaria are Jewish re-settlements of ancient Jewish territory agreed to by the League of Nations in 1922 and still legally binding today. Jordan is "palestine"
28. on PA Erekat and settlements
joel ,   usa   (06.09.11)
these PA leaders had really become redundant, let them take arms and fight if they win, they get all the lands in palestine, these palestinians are lazy and content themselves on dole outs, alms and donations, and they still have the nerves to complain and shows bigmouth, and expert in manipulations!
29. OK No problem
RealityCheck ,   USA   (06.09.11)
Obama can garuntee it.
30. Erakat is an Islamist-Jihadist Usurper
Brod ,   USA   (06.09.11)
Erakat speaks as if he owns Israel's liberated historic homeland of Judea and Samaria-Land of Israel. He is nothing but an Islamist-Jihadist usurper that should be locked up in Israel's jail. It is time Israel's media stops being used by Erakat to spread his anti-Israel propaganda to the world. Israel can tell him to go to Hell! Israel should continue building thousands of houses inJudea and Samaria. Never give these fanatical Islamist-Jihadists a foothold in spreading their aggression and venom against Israel in the Land of Israel.
