Typically resolutions supporting Israel get 75-85 votes. To see so few on this is a real shock.

If I read the article correctly they (Lieberman and Hatch) have "proposed" this resolution and simply read it on the floor of the Senate. It was a political message to Obama from both sides of the isle. Those things don't happen unless they would win, in most cases. Especially when it's done in such a public way. Then article states and I quote: "The resolution, which enjoys the support of some 30 other senators, including Democrats" That means Senators...at this point in time...are known to support it. But it did not say a vote was been taken. So why people are commenting on the numbers, is premature. This is typical in politics, ideas are floated, some...like this one...to send a clear message to the President. Often Senators do not reveal their stance, one way or another for a myriad of reasons. Put simply, we know that roughly 32 Senator's already support the Resolution. That's it! No vote has been taken at this point.
