They are defenseless in Turkey and need to worry about their own safety first by appearing to side with and appease Muslims. It may help or it may not but voting against Erdogan will for sure make things worse for them since Muslims will find a way to know how Jews vote, and could be retribution if they don't.

All jews in Turkey know AKP and Erdogan very well and they will not vote for him. (except maybe very few who may) However they would feel more comfortable to raise one voice that would be neutral to both parties so that in case of an AKP win they will not be persecuted. The issue that fears Turkish Jews is not AKP and Erdogan's stand against Israel but the anti-Semitizm that brings AKP members to unify (Organizations such as IHH demonstrates this)

No worries! There's no way to learn how one has voted in Turkey, and noone can judge with his vote. Even I urge not just the Jewish community but every single one to vote against Erdogan although I'm muslim as you indicate. He doesn't have tolerance at all.
