First of all, I don't think that the good people of California would join the wicked Russian Communists in banning circumcision. These "Liberals" would ban christenings of babies because the babies can't say no. The PA. Circumcision is good for several reasons. A circumcised penis is cleaner, more hygenic, less prone to infections, more sensitive and achieves stronger erections than an uncircumcised one. All good reasons to get circumcised!

I dont really believe those three religions will disappear. It is just wishful thinking. I believe the world would be a better place without them. For a start circumcision could be banned without everyone getting their knickers in a twist.

A baby's blood is at its peak ability to clot on the 8th day. They didn't know that back in Abraham's day, but Hashem did. Homosexuals don't like circumcision because it supposedly decreases the thrill, and what's more important than the thrill right? I hope the evangelicals win.

no one has the right to step in between religious rituals and their own Dr. no one. If a parent wants the child circumcised, and if the law penalizes them, certainly a judge can straighten it out. San Francisco is apparently unaware of the legal and costly grandstanding they are trying to initiate by this anti religious stance. They haven't got a leg to stand on. Too many years of successful circumcisions have already taken place and these gays trying to stop it are nuts and should not only be challenged in courts, they should be removed from office. The uncircumcised male may be okay with them but, have they asked a women what she thinks? NO. Uncircumcised men are ( to me ) physically repulsive and unclean.

I'm with you. In fact, I have several non-Jewish girlfriends, and because we're used to men being circumcised in this country (regardless of their ethnic background), a lot of these women would rather not get involved with those men who aren't circumcised. So these anti-circumcision guys can talk all they want about "losing feeling" if you're circumcised. But what good is it if you're not "getting any" because a lot of women don't like the way it looks in the first place?

All this misses the point. Cutting a baby's genitals violates his right to choose what parts of his own body to have or have cut off (almost certainly none of them) and his right to practise the religion of his choice - when he is old enough. This is not like any other decision parents make for children, because it's an irrevocable reduction. @#23 Talula: people like what they're used to, and where circumcision is not customary, people have no problem with men who have all they were born with. Isn't it the man on the other end who matters?

The same arguments about appearance can be used in favor of circumcising baby girls, but that does not make it acceptable.
