1. Would have meant more if Obama hadn't gotten one
Eric ,   Tel Aviv & NY   (06.12.11)
Here is a candidate who deserves the award, his lifetime achievements show that he is a worthy candidate. On the other hand Obama got one for doing nothing. He was nominated a year before he took office, or 14 months before elections. So what had he done to warrant winning a Peace Prize? What has he done since that other than having the USA in shooting situations in more countries than his predecessors.
2. or Arafat

3. Would have meant more if Obama hadn't gotten one?
tinashkuli   (06.12.11)
The Nobel Peacer prize became insignificant long before Obama got one. When a terrorist like Arafat can get a "peace" prize, you know the "peace" prize is a joke.
4. If Professor Feuerstein accepts...
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (06.12.11)
the Peace Nobel Price ,he gives honour to this price, and certainly not the opposite.
5. NObel Cmttee. doesn't deserve a person of Prof F's caliber
MOshe ,   Nof Ayalon   (06.12.11)
6. Just consider who else has won the Prize
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (06.12.11)
Kissinger and his co-winner Le Duc Tho of North Vietnam, Mohammed el-Baradei (I guess for giving cover to Iran's nuclear project), Sadat (only a few years after starting a war), and Al Gore (for his fraudulent AGW campaign). The Prize was devalued long before Obama won it for ... what exactly, Hope? Hadassah Hospital has also been nominated in the past, and with more justification than Obama.
7. #3 At least Arafat got it for Oslo
Eric ,   Tel Aviv & NYC   (06.12.11)
As bad as Oslo turned out it was at least real activity and related to peace. Obama got it for nothing. And his nothing is worse than Arafat's phony peace deal.
8. #1,2,3,6,7 YES,BUT...
Ian ,   Newcastle upon Tyne   (06.12.11)
....that shouldn't prevent Prof. Reuven Feuerstein from receiving the recognition and acclaim that he so heartily deserves. The Nobel Prize committee has made a big ass of itself in selecting past winners of the Peace Prize, but a line can be drawn in the sand this year and Prof. Reuven Feuerstein can set a new high standard for the future. THREE CHEERS FOR ISRAEL!!!
9. Professor Feuerstein has come a very
id   (06.13.11)
long way since he first started to teach and explore his unique ways in war-ridden Bucharest during WWII. One may safely say that without his contribution in clinical psychology and educational psychology, today's teaching and learning in the world over would have surely suffered a lot. Therefore, I firmly believe that bestowing upon Professor Reuven Feurestein the Nobel Prize it may en-noble it again.
