1. Amazing story......Hello Beautiful Baby : )
Salma ,   Palestine   (06.14.11)
God bless him.
2. I'm not sure this is ethical
Talula ,   Israel   (06.14.11)
Why does a baby have to grow not ever knowing its natural mother and who also has to live with the knowledge that his mother died way before he was born? Something just isn't natural here. It's extremely selfish on the part of these parents.
3. # 2 who the hell are you to judge this
(06.14.11)
first of all that baby and his daddy will have such an amazing spritiual bond that no one can comment on. end of story, and no one has the right to judge this. the fact that keren will still be alive visa via through her son being born will allow for genetic memory to take place which is worth more than anyone can ever understand
4. Israeli bureaucracy
Ian ,   Israel   (06.14.11)
Israeli bureaucracy is hateful and belongs in the stone age. Not surprising that so many laws are broken. And I used to think this was a haven.
5. No, it is not selfish.
Salma ,   Palestine   (06.14.11)
The baby is a part of his mother's heart and a piece of her body.. When the mother was going to her death, she chooses to give life to a new human being , i think her son will likely be grateful for her decision.
6. #2
E ,   Tel Aviv   (06.14.11)
I've refrained from commenting here for years, through all the political angst, racist comments, and pure idiocy I've read here and there. But you, #2, disgust me. There are certain opinions you should just keep to yourself. Let this wonderful new family be happy.
7. welcome to the world new little soul
fk ,   israel   (06.14.11)
Although it's a debatable issue, I personally lean toward love and happiness. If the father hadn't followed through with his dead wife's last will and testimony to use her embryos it would hang over him for the rest of his life and also come back in the next few lives to boot. His wife is probably back in some form or another and is watching over the new little baby in some other body. All is well with the world when we can aim to make our world a happier place. The little one could have been born to a mother (or father) who died immediately on his birth, would that make it easier to accept? We all have to work with what we've got and are given.
8. orphaned by delusional parent
yoni ,   tel aviv   (06.14.11)
This is totally wrong. This baby is born as an orphan because of some delusion father who thinks that his dead wifes "wish" makes any sort of difference after she is DEAD. does anyone not see this? She is dead two years she obviously could care less about "having" a kid. Why should her "wish" make any difference to the living?
9. #2 Not judging - it's my opinion
Talula ,   Israel   (06.14.11)
OK, how would YOU feel if you were this little boy? Growing up and NEVER EVER knowing its natural mother because she DIED years BEFORE he was born? It's extremely selfish to do this. Of course the baby will have his mother's genes, but how will that help him or bring him comfort – from a picture? He won't even have any memories of being kissed and hugged by his mother because she died so long before he was born - Grow up and don't argue for arguments sake. It's different if a mother dies during childbirth or unexpectedly after giving birth - but this baby was born years and years after his mother died. It's wrong on so many levels.
10. #6 Where did I say they shouldn't be happy
Talula ,   Israel   (06.14.11)
You should refrain from commenting if you don't understand the content of someone's talkback. Not ONCE did I say they should not be happy - Infact, considering how this little boy started his life, I only wish him happiness - but I think the circumstances in which he was born is very unethical. Damn you're a jumped up Idiot! thank god you don't comment here.
11. #2,#9,#10
Tamar ,   Israel   (06.14.11)
I agree with you 100%,is not going to be easy for this kid, really! To grow without a mother, to grow like a wired thing is not going to be easy...i hope he will have a happy life!
12. A soul for a soul
Richard ,   U.S.   (06.14.11)
Who cares a hill of beans what any detractor could ever say or understand of this new life, this boy, this Nefesh,,, this soul was written in the book of life just think millions of years before any of us even came here and had our Carnate bodies even to be able to speak on his issue (birth). What he is and will be to me is a gauge and barometer that I will watch all my days. Just think when he's 20 I'll be 80 seeing how good he can be, smart he can be, how righteous he can be and if the apple doesn't fall far, no doubt like his mom, our Lord never denies us.
13. Brit
Ben ,   New york   (06.14.11)
Where is this Bris?
14. Nos. 2, 8, 9, 10 & 11
Faith ,   Israel   (06.14.11)
I agree with what you say. I also would like to point out another thing - What would happen if the father didn't have the huge amount of money to pay a surrogate mother for this kid? I know the whole thing sounds very touching to everyone, and I know the whole story is sad, but I also question the fact that only the well-to-do can afford to "play G-d", as is were, and pay for this child to be born. And yes, something is unethical about that. Would the same thing be possible for a couple who was poor? Absolutely not.
15. Mazal Tov! Goodly blessings for the family
(06.14.11)
16. for a name like faith, you do not seem to have much of it
(06.14.11)
you think money is all ittakes? well what about his new partner and how she plays into this? this is a special soul and none of you out there ought to be condeming this, any of it.
17. It should be called the ministry of death
jason white ,   afula, israel   (06.14.11)
or the ministry of sickness. Why do these low life pukes in government think they can control our lives? We need a Libertarian party here to remove government from our private lives.Everything we want to do, they have their rules, laws, taxes and opinions. If he wanted to bring a new life into this world, what right do they have to tell him if he can or cannot? Get out of our lives and let us live. You are only working in government, because private industry would never hire you!
18. Mazel tov!!! Welcome beautiful boy!
Mea   (06.14.11)
My own sister died from sudden aggressive cancer when her son was barely three. Three years later his father died. This young man to this day has my sister's beautiful funny laugh and his father's uncanny gift for mathematics. He is them, and so fine at twenty three years old. Some day this baby will be a man, born through an exceptional love. His father will be older then, and he would have had a lifelong understanding of how strong his mother's love was--and his father's heroism. May he grow up immersed in that love. Like my nephew, this child will be loved beyond measure. I wish them the best. Mazel tov!
19. Wonderful Dad - Happy baby!!
Geraldine ,   San Antonio, USA   (06.14.11)
Toda!
20. It's the parent's choice
Danya ,   Israel   (06.19.11)
You have no right to judge this father. He wanted a child, and made the choice to hire a surrogage mother to gestate the frozen embryos he and his wife made before she got cancer. In my opinion, the MInistry of Health had no right to stop him from doing this. I commend New Family for helping him.
21. This is an amazing story - and almost unbelievable !
miri ,   israel   (07.02.11)
May this infant thrive in the love of his father and adopted family.
