1. AND WE WANT TO FREE KURDISTAN
kurd   (06.14.11)
from turkish occupasion!!!!!! turkey- stop killing kurds!
2. Turks want Greek Cyprus to check the ship?
Eric ,   Tel Aviv & NY   (06.14.11)
That almost sounds good. The Greek Cypriots have even less love of Turkish games than Israel does. But still the answer is no, the blockade will not be broken with a technicality, they can deliver any real aid via the established channels, especially as none of the goods they propose to bring are considered in short supply in Gaza.
3. Yea right. And Hamas wants peace.
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (06.14.11)
We beleive Hamas wants peace, but we know that it wants peace without Israel and only after a holy war against the Jews. Similarly, the IHH wants no violence, but they also don't say they want Israel to disappear off the map. The proof is already out there in the documentaries that showed the IHH members in the flotilla wanted to be martyrs - that is why they ignored international law, tried to break the legal sea blockade, and attacked IDF soldiers with iron bars and knives (the visual evidence against the IHH is overwhelming, including the BBC news documentation of their intentions for violent confrontation and "martyrdom"). There is absolutely no evidence that anything has changed. All indications are that the IHH leaders are lying and that they do indeed seek a confrontation with the IDF. They should indeed send an aid mission to their "brothers" in Kurdistan before they worry about Gaza.
4. said the people who condemned the killing of OBL
IHH= NASTY LIES   (06.14.11)
5. do not sail to israel and we wont sink you
David Frank ,   Haifa, Israel   (06.14.11)
6. vow?
nun   (06.14.11)
it is very interesting that this news claims "Turkish government officials vow to stop flotilla from departing". but this is not true. foreing minister said they can not stop flotilla again and again. by the way, flotilla is sailing on 29.06.2011 :)
7. no killings
julia ,   Turkey   (06.14.11)
i live in Turkey and there is no killing of innocent Kurdish people. My best friend is a Kurd. The main problem in Turkey is PKK, a terrorist organization. They kill Turkish soldiers and want to establish Kurdistan on east Turkey. But we say, come and join to parliament, say your demands in legal way.
8. Ynet's HALF truth re IHH allowing inspection
CK Tan ,   Singapore, Singapore   (06.14.11)
Ynet states that, by allowing inspection, the IHH meets Israeli condition for aid to be sent DIRECTLY to Gaza by SEA. This is only PARTIALLY correct. Israel has ALWAYS stipulated that ANY humanitarian aid be taken to Gaza via existing LAND routes AFTER inspections. This is why the UN Gen-Sec says what he says - that aid are to be "channelled through LEGITIMATE crossings and ESTABLISHED channels". (my EMPHASIS). And sending aid to Gaza by SEA route is NOT part of the " LEGITIMATE crossings and ESTABLISHED channels"
9. Turks want Greek Cyprus to check the ship?
Alexis ,   Nicosia, Cyprus   (06.14.11)
Rubbish. The Republic of Cyprus will NOT accept ANY Turkish ship flying a Turkish flag enter its ports. Period. As no Cypriot ship is allowed into a Turkish port since the invasion of Cyprus by Turkey.
10. Tel Your Boatniks No Violence!
emanon ,   USA   (06.14.11)
11. Let the ship into Gaza BUT NOT OUT!
David ,   Karmiel, Israel   (06.14.11)
Let these people who despise Israel, undermine Israel's legitimacy, libel and slander Israel at every juncture and promote the killing of Israelis of ALL creeds by Hamas, Islamic Jihad and their merry men, take their ship in Gaza after inspection by Israel and NATO but not let it or its passengers out until Gilad Shalit is back in Israel or on board the ship with his safety guaranteed by no one less the Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan himself.. Fair exchange? We get Gilad and the Israel haters can see the "suffering" of the "poor" Gazans, who are living like kings compared to most in the Muslim World!
12. I will check the ship,
Barry Obama   (06.14.11)
and if there's any funny business going on, I WILL URGE RESTRAINT ON BOTH SIDES!!!
13. 7 - the Kurds have a right for self-determination
Israeli   (06.14.11)
If the Kurds prefer to have their own independent state, in the lands they live in, then it's their right. The land of Israel is tiny, but Turkey is big enough to give part of its lands to the Turks to establish their own state on it.
14. Turkey should FREE KURDISTAN before it tries to free Gaza
Kurdi ,   Free Kurdistan   (06.14.11)
15. hmmm
yael ,   los angeles USA   (06.14.11)
interesting! yes I highly doubt Israel will just let 11 flotilla ships enter its ports...keep dreaming terrorists! Israel knows what you are up to...we are 10 steps ahead of you! then again what else is new lol
16. AMEN
yael ,   los angeles USA   (06.14.11)
couldn't have said it better myself Brian! :) you're awesome!
17. who's called as pacifist?
Berrak   (06.14.11)
"Turkish government officials announced Monday that Ankara will try to stop the flotilla as Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan prefers focusing on the Syrian crisis, rather the Palestinian issue" First I should say there's no such thing. Turkish government just wants the flotilla organizers -which includes Turkish IHH only as a participator- to be careful inorder not to see such occasions as last year. Turkish ministers support a freedom flotilla having the aim of humanitarian aid. Another thing is that I really wonder who's called as terrorist and peaceful by Israel government. Palestinians fighting for freedom are terrorists, those volunteers who want to break the siege with humanitarian aid are terrorists so who is pacifist?
18. Talk about the most UNATURAL falling out..
Tim ,   Brighton   (06.14.11)
It just makes no sense whatsoever Why should Turkey or Israel want to jeapardise a relationship thats of benefit to Turkey Israel and the wider ME especially when peace comes and the Mid East Free Trade Community is established Lets hope that sense prevails and good relations are restored sooner rather than later
19. no justice?
julia ,   Turkey   (06.14.11)
If Kurds express their demands in legal way, then it would be regarded, and be debated. But war is not a good way to get a land. Not all of the Kurds want a self-governing territory (Kurdistan) but all of the Palestinians want their own territory which would be sovereign. Because they were expelled from their own lands or still live there by inhumane conditions.
20. If they don't allow Israeli inspection
Paul ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (06.14.11)
and follow international protocols they should sink at sea. It's expected, IHH wants to make illegitimate the legitimate and legitimize the illegitimate. Arabs and their leftist supporters are beyond redemption.
21. And why ...
NilsG ,   Helsingborg, Sweden   (06.14.11)
... should Turkish Jews accept to act as messengers between this IHH and the Government of Israel? Some very fuzzy thinking on the part of IHH, I fear.
22. Lets inspect it before it departs
Mark ,   Jerusalem   (06.14.11)
Why don't we send a team to Turkey and inspect the ship before it departs and leave an inspection crew on it.
23. Re #7 "no killings"
Andrew Brehm   (06.14.11)
"i live in Turkey and there is no killing of innocent Kurdish people." You should visit Kurdish towns more often. Thousands of dead Kurds are not just hiding and children are not members of the PKK and neither are the PKK using them as human shields while firing at Turks. "My best friend is a Kurd." Obviously. Ask him if he was educated in his native language in school.
24. @7
Ralph ,   Kudistan   (06.14.11)
live in Kurdistan and there is no killing of innocent Turk people. My best friend is a Turk. The main problem in Turkey is AKP, an islamist organization. They kill Kurdish people and want to establish Khalifat on Turkey. But we say, come and join to parliament, say your demands in legal way.
25. Why bother with Jews of Turkey
Shalom ,   Ashdod, IL   (06.14.11)
If they want to say something to Israel they should say it directly to Israel. To go through the Jews of Turkey is wrong and it means that they do not consider these people as Turks but as Jews (they do not draw a distinction between Jews and Israeli). If they have the balls to sail them they should take their consequences. Inspection is to be done ONLY by Israelis not even by Jews of Turkey
26. #19 Not all Palestinians want a Pal state
Rebecca ,   Modiin   (06.14.11)
Every time peace talks get close there is a rush from "Palestinians" to get their Israeli papers in order. They might be too scared to say so out loud, but a lot of "Palestinians" would rather be Israeli. It's safer. It's a 1st world country with good education at all levels, for all people, there are health benefits, and free speech.
27. Julia from Turkey
David Israel ,   New York USA   (06.14.11)
Kurds ( as well as Armenians) were expelled from their homes in the east of Turkey. In the 1990ies thousands of Kurdish villages were destroyed by the Turkish forest police ( KORUCU) and they had to leave to the western cities like Istanbul and Izmir in destitude . This is why you see extremely poor Kurds in the streets of Idmir selling NERGIz flowers for a cup of soup.
28. WHO CAN TRUST THESE PEOPLE???
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (06.14.11)
First why is the IHH involving the Jewish community in Turkey. It can be construed as a form of blackmail. If they say "No" was will be the reaction from the "tolerant" Muslims in that country? Egypt and the population is currently killing Christians, dozens at a time with brutal attacks (i.e. suicide bombing, vandalism, attacks on the street) just for being Christian. So I find it repulsive but not surprising the IHH would try to involve a segment of their own population, and put them at risk. We know there is no need for the flotilla...even less of a need than last time, which proved beyond any doubt there was NO crisis in Gaza...this time is no different. If they plan to peacefully submit to inspections, including bodily searches, last time both money and weapons were found taped to the terrorists bodies or carried on their person. So any search MUST include a ship search and a body search as well.by Israel. The Terrorist have become so clever at disguising contraband only the IDF is qualified to actually do the physical search. But it defeats the stated purpose of the flotilla, which was to "break the blockade". So why not just send the goods by truck overland into Gaza? Well you don't get any PR for that, do you?
29. 13
anton ,   istanbul turkey   (06.14.11)
13 you have any idea what you are talking about? 23 andrew you talk with out proof just like the guy who says on every occasion that turkey kills 2000 kurds daily i am half kurdish and the situaiton is not like what you have told kurds are far better than pals they live on their landü they are represented in parliment their homes are safe they are not being chased out, do any of these ring a bell or should i go on? you live in glass house spare us the lecture ps: ynet please surprise me and do not block my comments
30. Julia from occupied Turkey
JUDAH THE LION   (06.14.11)
The Palestinians live inhimane conditions, because they want sympathy from the world. The Arab & MUslims states could have done better. Look at the Jewish refugees which were kicked from Arabs lands.Jewish refugees from Arab lands lost much more than the Israeli Arabs who fled the country in 1948. Rich Arabs countries could have done better for their broithers & sisters, but they want world sympathy.
