1. Egypt is playing a double game.
David ,   Karmiel, Israel   (06.14.11)
2. Ummm....
Adam ,   Golan Heights Israel   (06.14.11)
I think for Egypt's own sake, it would be best for them to quietly release Grapel with an apology, and hopefully the media will find somethign else to focus on. Egypt "intelligence" is starting to compete with Dubai's Police Chief Inspector "Clueless" for the prize of "Laughing-Stock" of the int'l intel community. Pity that Peter Sellers isn't around to see these performances.
3. another Shalit?
another Shalit? ,   IL   (06.14.11)
but this one's not a soldier! so the arabs have to insist in recalling all their extremist terrorist organizations
4. Ilan Grapel NOT a Spy
Mitchell Cohen ,   Gush-Etzion, Israel   (06.14.11)
Aside from being an acquaintance of Ilan Grapel, his being a spy (specifically for the Mossad) does NOT hold water because a) Grapel always used his real name b) whenever Israel wants to send someone to spy on an Arab country, they will send a NATIVE Arabic speaker, not someone with an American accent who sticks out like a sore tongue c) it takes 2.5 years of intensive training ONLY after finishing service in an IDF combat unit before the Mossad will even send you out on a mission; Grapel has been studying at Emory University (in Atlanta, Georgia) for the past two years and only got released from the IDF September, 2007....
5. that dude is crazy in the coconut for sure
(06.14.11)
6. why would any jew go to mitzryim it took a longtime to get
(06.14.11)
outta there, so why go back in the first place? and especially since things are changing there so fast now anyways. i dont get it
7. Lieberman
Mike Carmel ,   Rishon le Zion   (06.14.11)
Old Lieberman doesn't mince his words does he? Mars eh? How does he know about that?
8. He is not a Mossad agent
Frank ,   Canada   (06.14.11)
he does not look like a shark.
9. Liberals think their politics will protect them
Rebecca ,   Modiin   (06.14.11)
The dont seem to remeber that to Hitler, a Jew is a Jew, no matter what your political or religious outlook. Those who do not like us do not see us as individuals, so no about of liberal bs will save him. PG Israel and the US will,
10. what would livni do
alexi   (06.14.11)
with gappel in egyptian hands, what would livni do? run around to the US clinton and beg, and beseech egypt to please release him which would do no good at all like the case of shalit. Liberman on the other hand tells egypt their behaviour is strange that grappel has no connection to mossad or mars intelligence and that he should be released in a direct tough statement. Grappel will be released eventually cause egypt knows that lieberman is serious and israel has a powerful military which he would use. Livni on the other hand needs permission from hague and the EU before moving a soldier. How israel produces a livni and olmert who accuses lador of misdeeds in his own defence is incredible and is one of the reasons jews have had so much trouble over the years. The main reason is the bloody chosen people and light unto nations narrative. If god said it which I doubt, then he was wrong. Non jews say who the hell are you to tell us how to conduct ourselves. It is too great a burden and all the books should be cleansed of any chosen people or light unto nations or moral army terminology. It is one of the reasons of long lasting antisemitism.
11. Arabic-fluent American-Israeli
Amram ,   NYC US   (06.14.11)
I am also an Amero-Israeli fluent in Arabic who lived in Arab countries prior to makeing Aliya and serving in the IDF. Why did Ilan go to Mitsrayeem? He's either a fool or too trusting of _any_ intelligence agency (which, come to think of it, is foolish).
12. No problem with him meeting Hamas
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (06.14.11)
Didn't Obama vouch for Hamas ?
13. He seems like a naive stupid adventurer
EgyptianJewRefugeee ,   Ex. Cairo, Egypt   (06.14.11)
He seems like a naive stupid adventurer. Egypt should expel him after investigating whether he really spied which is doubtful.
14. Now That The Savages In eygpt Got Rid
Wondering   (06.14.11)
of Hosni Mubarek Now What???? They will REVERT back to the Stone age as do ALL moslom countries do, ignorant, uneducated, LACK of World History, are just for starter's. They deserve All the Misery comming their way. Yella
15. Ilan he is not spy
Yasin ,   Mogadishu Somalia   (06.14.11)
How do i know it? his mom and the IDF Lieberman say he's not a spy......
16. "met with Muslim Brotherhood...and other radical elements"
William Geller ,   Israel   (06.14.11)
Radical Elements? Wasn't the Muslim Brotherhood just made legal in Egypt? So they are a legitimate representation of the Egyptian people when considering political activity, but are suddenly a "radical element" when trying to make an accusation of "spy" stick to an Israeli? If I were the Muslim Brotherhood, I'd be pissed on both counts - being considered a "radical element" and "working with an Israeli spy"
