1. So, The community organiser's....
Adam ,   Golan Heights Israel   (06.14.11)
...skills are not quite up to caliber of the int'l community? A few billion people have been saying that for the past 3 years, but a few billion other wishful fools thought they knew better.
2. Syria
Dale ,   USA   (06.14.11)
If the USA gets involved in any kind of Military force against Syria, Israel who borders that country, will be get reprisals of many kinds because of this. This is why Lybia and Syria are so different.
3. What "broad coalition"?
Danny   (06.14.11)
Two NATO countries and the US with some token help from some token countries.
4. 4 Wars and counting
JB ,   Rehovot Israel   (06.14.11)
The US is fighting in Afghanistan, Libya and Yemen, and Iraq isn't exactly peaceful. Now we should get involved in Syria? What's next? How many wars can anyone fight, and how overstretched and overworked can one military be? Can you say recipe for disaster?
5. Does Statue of Liberty's Lamp still shine?
Roland Seener ,   London England   (06.14.11)
Re Statue of Liberty..."Give me...your tired, your poor,Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.Send these, the homeless,tempest-tossed,to me;I lift up my lamp beside the golden door!"
6. #2 No Dale,

Oil and no oil is the difference.
7. Yes, Roland, the light of liberty still shines,
Rachel ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (06.14.11)
however, in case you have not noticed, the US is broke these days, so perhaps you British would like to pony up since it is your colonial past which led Muammar Quaddafi and Bashar Al Assad into thinking they could do whatever they want to their own people. By the way, the US is now footing 75% of the bill for NATO operations in Libya. How much did the UK pitch in? Yeah, I thought so.
8. HELLO, ANYBODY HOME?
David ,   America   (06.14.11)
Doesn't anyone see the significance of the Russian Naval Base in Syria? Would Russia attack a country with an American Naval Base without realization that when they do they will also be attacking America? Yes, Obama is a coward, a liar, an evil man, a leftest, Socialist pig and is too stupid to be in the position he is in, however, the Joint Chiefs of Staff are not stupid. Risking a world war between the greatest powers on the planet just to stop an internal conflict in a small Islamic dictatorship is hardly wise.
9. It's called leadership for a reason
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (06.14.11)
Apparently Odumba still hasn't figured out what he is suppose to do. I don't hear calls for military action, but what about some real sanctions? Or something real radical pull your own ambassador? Too radical for you?
10. #1 Adam This Is Proof Positive
Wondering   (06.14.11)

11. no intrest
marko ,   tel aviv   (06.14.11)
The US has no stratigic intrest in Syria ,no oil no minerals. All there is are inocent civilians and people who want regime change being murdered by a dictator. You pretend to be the worlds policeman,so do something.
12. #6 Eli
Annette ,   USA   (06.14.11)
I don't know. Your FM Liebermann specifically tried to avert military action and strikes in his talks with the German FM today (see another YNET story), so maybe #2 Dale is correct in his assessment. Anyway, that's the scuttlebutt.
