Why should BBC and CNN pick up a story that a Muslim is NOT discriminated in Israel? Is this so exceptional? Well, maybe you are right and it is...

I would like to see more Arabs around - and not as cleaning or construction workers. We may and should leave together - as friends, neighbors, colleagues and compatriots. And no, I'm no "leftie", I'm a Zionist Jew and Likud voter (if you are wondering).

Well done Another Israeli Arab Muslim who is succeding on merit challenging old stereotypes and paving the way for many more outstanding Israeli Arab Muslims to shine Given that they are unable to serve in the IDF why doesnt Israel create other opportunities for National and Voluntary Service. A secular mixed service thats constructed along Army Lines - A Corps in Eco Projects, A Corps for Educational Projects, A Corps for Negev Development etc etc
41. well, he probably served in the army as well.
Kushi   (06.16.11)
and he has to say that he never felt discriminated, or he won't be raised so high. i'm not cynic and not blaming. this is the situation. we live in a bloody conflict zone. of course there's discrimination by people that look as enemies (on both sides). i'm discriminated, politely, in palestinians places, but it's nothing to make a scandal of. it's not a government thing, but if i want to do anything in palestinian areas - well. i call people to comment from their own experience on this idea. and there's plenty of discrimination inside palestinian society, in israel, palestine, lebanon, jordan, everywhere. and in arab society in general. it's big, normal, normative. not to western standards. foreigners wont see it even after days around...

43. Arabs in the Israeli army
Fran ,   Notts, UK   (03.12.13)
Arabs MAY choose to serve in the IDF if they wish to do so but Israel does not compel them to, understanding the difficulties they might experience from their own communities if they do. Many Israeli Druze choose to, though.
