4. 1 John, that s because they imitate...
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (06.26.11)
New York style hotels. They d better imitate French atmosphere hotels. Some new boutique hotels are doing the first steps on the good way.
5. Easy to find better deals:
Mea   (06.27.11)
For example the Maxim Hotel sits a block from the US Embassy and across from the beach. It is a sweet little boutique hotel with a wonderful Israeli breakfast buffet included in the price of approximately $100 a night double. Also many many Israelis own rental B and B rooms attached to their homes or apartments. They usually have a kitchenette and patio, for about the same price. Looks in craigslist. In Jerusalem I have always rented from the Jerusalem Accommodation Association website. Excellent deals!

Guessing you haven't checked into Brown yet. This doesn't sit on same standards with the rest of Tel Aviv's finest. Stayed there a few weeks ago - amazing!

Some of the hotels abroad may be cheaper and better than Israeli ones, but you would be very hard pressed to find a country that is as fabulous as Israel.

I have travelled extensively in the U.S.A., Canada, Europe, and Africa, and I can tell you that Israeli hotels are just fine by comparison (in terms of both quality and price).
10. Outdated but mostly correct

I just saw this posted a couple of years ago, so i have some news to all the Tel Aviv doubters. I travel frequently to this gorgeous city and it is kinda true you can't find a perfect deal (not any deal). There are some great hotels but they are extremely expensive, and then again the cheap hotels are too trashy. BUT! This year a new hotel opened, its called the ANNA COLONIAL RESIDENCE. It is in Neve Tzedek, for those who know what it is, and they offer a perfect combination of price, comfort, style, location and atmosphere. I recommend it to everyone I know, and now you know too, no? :)
