1. Bibi
Harris ,   West Palm Beach, USA   (06.16.11)
It is Obama and his administration that should be ashamed of the way they have treated Israel. They treat Israel as if it is a wayward child. Obama is no friend of Israel and never will be.
2. Herzog
Abraham Nachmias ,   Petach Tikva IL   (06.16.11)
Who does Herzog represent? Will Labor be in the Knesset after next term elections? Thanks G-d Barak for sure will be out!
3. Herzog is a real tool - he will never be PM
Rachel ,   US   (06.16.11)
He couldn't wait to deliver Obama's talking points. All Bibi did was stand for Israel. It seems that 85% of Israelis agree with Bibi's position.
4. they are hostile to Bibi because of his race/religion
Stan ,   USA   (06.16.11)
5. Herzog and Obama are not Israel's friends.
Bless israel. ,   United States   (06.16.11)
Bibi was absolutely correct in his assessment of Obama's false promises at Israel's expense and her security. Obama and the dems are going to be out and suffering due to idiocy like this. Obama's already musing on the real possibility he'll be another one term prez.
6. what did you expect from Labor to say?
Larry ,   Los Angeles   (06.16.11)
Of course they will say something nasty about Bibi. They want to cut him down, but every one else seems to applaud his stance on the '67 borders against the plans of Obama.
7. THE VIEW FROM THE WASHINGTON VILLAGE
Ian ,   Newcastle upon Tyne   (06.16.11)
It seems to me that these 'Administration officials' should try getting out a bit. THREE CHEERS FOR ISRAEL!!!
8. Standing ovations from the whole Congress
Shalom Freedman ,   Jerusalem Israel   (06.16.11)
MK Herzog did not pay attention apparently to the standing ovations of both Houses for Prime Minister Netanyahu. Instead he probably spoke to a few of President Obama's quite anti- Israel political advisors. Is this by the way what is called 'the loyal opposition'?
9. Herzog
Sloane ,   Palo Alto, CA USA   (06.16.11)
Of course Herzog said this. He is the one who is a defeatist. Bibi, on the other hand, is willing to assume his rightful role as the leader of a free nation who doesn't have to bow down to anyone. Those days are over. Bibi is a leader, not a stooge like Herzog.
10. Herzog, nothing like his father
David ,   On this planet   (06.16.11)
He is a back stabber, and a trouble maker., He should be ashamed. No other Israeli leader received as many standing ovations by Congress and Senate
11. The Hostility began with Obama and his administration
Moish ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (06.16.11)
I'm proud that our Prime Minister stood up for our Country's security and didn't give in to Obama's unreasonable and ridiculous demands.
12. Bibi slammed by Democrats
Mark ,   Houston USA   (06.16.11)
This is why I never vote for a Democrat; they live in another reality. Why is it okay for Obama to deliver the type of speech he did, changing decades of US policy, on the eve of Bibi's visit; and when Netanyahu speaks equally frank, it is considered 'scorced earth'? Really? Get a life.
13. What are you talking about?:
leo ,   usa   (06.16.11)
"Labor Party Knesset member visiting US says Netanyahu slammed by top Democrats for leaving behind 'scorched earth'; PM's style insulted President Obama and his people" --- In half an hour of his "Obama slamming(?)" speech in Congress Bibi received standing ovation from both sides of the aisle more times than Obama ever hope to get. Country is squarely behind Israel, which is not about to change. Current Administration will be gone very soon. Relax and just wait Obama out.
14. You are a sore loser
David ,   Shiloh Israel   (06.16.11)
15. SWAP WHAT?
Rickey ,   NY, NY USA   (06.16.11)
If we start at the pre June 1967 borders, what "other" part of pre June 1967 Israel are we supposed to swap?
16. Bibi's phyyric victory
StevieT ,   USA   (06.16.11)
Yes he got standing ovations from Congress, but only at the expense of of pissing off millions of Obama supporters. (Yes, they are half of the country) I understand how it can be interpreted as 'standing up for Israel, but the cost was greater than the symbolic gain. A foreigner getting involved in American politics is like a stranger intervening in a marital fight. A lose-lose proposition. This kind of amatuerish diplomacy has been the hallmark of the Bibi coalition and creates a threat that Israel did not need.
17. "Top Democrats"
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (06.16.11)
He means the current US administration, certainly neither the Senator or House of Representatives. Odumba started the issue and got slapped down by Bibi. The hostility has been on the part of those same officials that are so insulted now.
18. # 6 Larry they should have remained silent
Bless israel. ,   United States   (06.16.11)
and thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubts. VOTE REPUBLICAN.
19. Bibi I know, but who is Herzog ?
Yossef   (06.16.11)
20. Herzog, you are an idiot. wrong on so many counts
ralph   (06.17.11)
21. "deep hostility"??!!
Ron ,   Abington, PA, USA   (06.17.11)
Who the hell writes these titles? The only hostility is towards our bozo-in-chief. Herzog should be cited for treason.
22. MISLEADING TITLE
LAWRENCE ,   Zefat (Safed)   (06.17.11)
Should read : " Deep hostility towards Bibi from Obama ' the remainder of the U.S is rather fond of Bibi .And Herzog is a moron.
23. To Herzog.....
Harry ,   Jerusalem   (06.16.11)
Stick a shoe up, where it don't shine. What we don't need is all your BS. We need to stand behind our PM. America is a BIG Place. Why don't you name those officials!! The distance from Jerusalem to Washington is the same from Washington to Jerusalem. The USA needs Israel. And we need to believe in God.
24. "Top" Democrats
Maurice ,   Los Angeles, USA   (06.17.11)
Those top democrats he is referring to will be gone next year along with Obama. Bibi stood up to Obama as he should and made him look like an amateur on American tv. Bibi got more standing ovations during his address to congress that Obama did at his state of the union and inaugural speech.
25. #16 StevieT
Don Saliman ,   Nahal Oz, Israel   (06.17.11)
So in order not to upset Obama and his millions supporters, Israel should just lay down and beg forgiveness from Obama and just give up her security, I think not. You say a foreigner getting involved in American politics is a lose-lose situation, then Obama who is a foreigner in Israel politics, should stay out of Israels politics. Now I know it will be said, since Israel gets money from America, Obama can tell Israel what to do, but it is a two way street, America gains from Israel in many ways and the money is well spent, America gets payed back in many ways for helping Israel, more than you know. You also write that Bibi is using amateurish diplomacy and a threat Israel does not need, well if we do what Obama wants, than the threat to Israel is not American backlash, but the threat from our neighbors to our lives.
26. IT'S COMFORTING TO KNOW
LAWRENCE ,   Zefat (Safed)   (06.17.11)
At a time when Israel is being brutally harassed on its northern border and also at sea with threats of flotillas ,and also diplomatically with threats of september palestinian state ,that israelis such as Isaac Herzog are stabbing his fellow israelis in their backs.
27. Bye, Bye Dems
Joe ,   USA   (06.17.11)
Oh those secret "top Democrats". Notice that he gives no names. Obama had Bibi walk into the White House through the back door once, now he complains about being dissed? Obama can go %$#@! himself.
28. Herzog's Dignitaries
American Public ,   Florida, USA   (06.17.11)
will all be removed from office shortly. They will not be joining him for coffee in Tel Aviv, or even accepting his calls anymore once they no longer have any use for the idiot. Most of the US electorate has deep hostility for "Senior Democratic Party officials closely associated with US President Barack Obama " due to failed socialist domestic policies, alienating every former US ally, and demeaning attempts to appease islamic extremists while ignoring the growing danger of iran.
29. Israel Supporters
max ,   washington dc   (06.17.11)
Herzog is a fool. Most Americans and the US Congress support Netanyahu and even Harry Reid indirectly chastized President Obama for following the extreme leftist view of pressuring Israel to accept undefensible 1967 borders and re-dividing Jerusalem. Hillary is a nice person but one wonders whether Saudi oil and contributions have influenced Middle East Diplomacy.
30. Why is Herzog siding with Israel's enemies?
Mike ,   Oxford UK   (06.17.11)
Obama has shown time and time again that he will sacrifice Israel and side with the Palestinians. Whilst I could not disagree with him more he is entitled to his flawed views. Why though is an elected Isareli representative siding with Israel's enemies?
