31. King Hussein :"Jordan is Palestine!"
David ,   USA   (06.18.11)
Jordan is and was their state. It is very easy to change the name Jordan to Palestine . Even most of Jordan was supposed to be allocated to Israel by the League of Nations. Then British cowards carved out a huge chunk and called it TransJordan. They can re-carve and call it Palestine.
32. Fire Barak NOW!
Chaim ,   Israel   (06.18.11)
Almost nobody wanted Labor in the government in the first place. Israel voted vehemently against the sick appeasement policies of Labor and Meretz. Recent polls indicate Labor is down to the low single digits. Barak's new party wouldn't win a single seat! So why is Barak allowed to roam the world pretending to speak for Israel? Fire Barak NOW!
33. #14. With a wish & a pinch of pixie dust..
Chaim ,   Israel   (06.18.11)
#14. Actually, Israel is building for Israel. If you want to go to fictional Palestine, fly there with Tinkerbell the fairy. All it takes a wish and a pinch of pixie dust.
34. "Talks" = NOTHING!!!!
marlene ,   Philadelphia, USA   (06.18.11)
Now, it's LAND for TALKS???? Absurd! Just give it away for NOTHING, Israel, and let G-d save you already.
35. I have a much better idea
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (06.18.11)
Send the Jordanian citizens back to their own country. Those illegally occupying Judea and Samaria need to go. We have a signed peace treaty with Jordan where they renounced any claim to our lands. Those Arabs living west of the Jordan and are not Israeli citizens are Jordanian citizens so we should demand that the Jordanian government take their illegal squatters off of our territory. A moral and legal solution to all the problems.
36. Barak is a curse on the Jewish people
Paul ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (06.18.11)
37. 29
Pinhas Bayit ,   Bet HaKerem   (06.18.11)
Thanks for the arrogance of 'boxing' me into Lefty and much worse still of being an Haaretz reader - such heinous crimes! - both unfounded accusations, (I read this tabloid too after all) but that's arrogance for you. However, not only have I been east of the Green Line, I served in it and what I know of land theft tells me that you can always find a "snapshot" - space between houses, even in Palestinian areas. But the general numbers show that the settlers - like you - have more lands per person (and civil rights and other privileges ) than the Palestinians. Perhaps you believe that you are more an 'inheritor' than a mere settler. And if that's the case that's not just arrogance.
38. #9 Nour, The real issue is
Hannah ,   Tel Aviv   (06.18.11)
What you're talking about are half-truths taken out of context. You teach your kids as if Israel expelled the Palestinians from their homeland and expropriated their property. Then they teach them that Israel occupied West Bank and Gaza. Then they teach the kids that Palestinians are segragated with electrified fences just like the apartheid regime in South Africa. This creates the impression in young vulnerable minds that Israel is a kind of monster that should be destroyed. They don't teach that those expelled ones were the traitors who had rioted against Israel supporting the enemies. They don't teach that West Bank and Gaza were occupied by Jordan and Egypt respectively in 1948. They don't teach about the 900,000 Jews who were ethnic cleansed by the Arab countries for the reason that Israel declared independence. They don't teach about the Palestinian suicide bombers who blew up innumerable pizza joints, cafes, pubs etc, due to which Israel had to set up the security fence. They also don't teach the kids that due to this fence, the attacks have reduced by more than 95%. So, this is the problem. If you teach the whole truth, then nobody has any issue. If you don't teach about the Arab Aggression, and teach only the Israeli retaliation, then the kids get a distorted picture of the reality and leave them craving for revenge. There will be nothing to talk as long as this goes on.

teach with kids that Abram born/came from Ur, Babylonia to Canaan as migrant and about the Russians and the Ethiopians want to live in our homes
40. There is no "right of return" for Arabs
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (06.18.11)
Great analysis of this issue here: http://spectator.org/archives/2011/06/08/the-economics-of-settlement# I'm sure this will give Nour indigestion, since it is more historical proof that there never was an Arab country called "Palestine". It also cast serious doubts on many of the other claims by the Arabs who call themselves "Palestinians" - remembering of course that 100 years ago when you said "Palestinians" you meant "Jews". Here's some of the analysis: "Financed by the U.S. and the European Union, as Michael S. Bernstam of Stanford's Hoover Institution explained in Commentary in December of 2010, UNRWA perpetuates the notion of a "right of return" to the land. Yet this land scarcely existed as an asset before the Jews reclaimed it and made it valuable and capable of supporting life. "This is not the right of return," writes Bernstam, "it is a claim of the right to retake..." or more accurately to seize the land outright from its lawful owners. A typical harvest of misconceived foreign aid, this tragic error extends the Palestinian grievance beyond Gaza and the West Bank into countries such as Jordan, Syria, and Lebanon that also host Palestinian camps."
41. If you betray your own people, then you
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (06.18.11)
are guilty of TREASON...!!!! PURE AND SIMPLE...
42. To Nour Steal A State
Linda Rivera ,   New York, USA   (06.18.11)
There NEVER was an Arab country of Palestine. Jerusalem was NEVER the capital of any Arab or Muslim entity. Jerusalem is mentioned hundreds of times in the Bible, not once in the Koran. Stop trying to steal the JEWISH BIBLICAL Holy Land of Judea and Samaria and holy Jerusalem - the eternal Jewish city.

You need to curb your appetite, rami for somebody else's pizza.. Especially for the food you haven't earned...So far, you still need to prove to the world, that you can feed yourself... Your appetite has grown so big, that you have a habit to bite the hand that feeds you..If you can sign your post from "Palestine", you and your people, surely should be able to make your own pizza, build your pizza ovens, bake it an eat it...Now is a good time to stop asking the world to feed you...

Same old nonsense from you-you already know the response that you will get.You are Arab displaced persons and not refugees-you are squatters in Israel and not welcome.Go to Jordan and stop winging.

Jennie ,   Israel/US   (06.19.11)
Your blaberring is a hot air baloon, mr. palestinian..We have 4000 year proof of the right to live and dwell on our ancient land, which we had never left...The story of mohamed and islam has not beeen around more then over 800 years...All you need is to lread any factual publication, other then your brainwash material, coming from your terror orgs....FYI, the Russians and the Ethiopians, who have joined the Israeli Nation, are Jews, that is easily proven genetically and hitorically...They have not taken your homes...It is you who want to take theirs....Your people started to flee to ISrael as refugees in the early 70's, when the arab countries expelled them...
47. Obfuscate the truth
John R ,   NYC USA   (06.19.11)
Peace Now did an analysis on West Bank housing and determined the bulk of what was built had nothing to do with natural growth. It had everything to do with offering cheap housing to Israelis moving from Israel proper. WB settlements beyond the June 4th,1967 borders are illegal. So says the UNSC in 9 resolutions going back to 1968. so said Theodor Meron ,council to the Israeli Foreign Ministry, to Levi Eshcol in 1967, so says the International Court of Justice in 2004, so said Barack Obama in a speech before the UN in 2009, so said virtually the entire world in a resolution entitled "Peaceful settlement of the question of Palestine." That resolution comes up every year (since 1983)and more than 91% of the world votes in favor of it. Israel will not make peace until they surround Jerusalem with settlements, complete the security wall, and annex every possible religious site. In 1981 the UN General assembly passed an unprecedented resolution condemning the US Gov't for allowing Israel to perpetuate its violations of international law. The US Gov't has invoked 44 vetoes on Israel's behalf since 1978. On almost all they were the only dissenting vote. You could have peace or illegal settlements but you can't have both.

Thanks for proving Hannah's point. So, how's that state of yours coming along? Try Russia or Ethiopia, you may have a better chance making a state there.
49. Wishing Israel & Palestine success.
Ernest ,   Jerusalem   (06.19.11)
DM Barak is doing a great job. This is relative to Isaac's blessings to Jacob and Esau. Two nations would be born. There descendants through their mothers sides also bring the family back together again, by blood. Now, just jockeying to be able to negotiate the initiative to live side by side and make peace with the Arab League too. Imagine the Passport issues being cleared up to be able to visit and maybe even live.
50. #39 As explained already
Hannah ,   Tel aviv   (06.19.11)
As it was said before to your not so clever person.
51. THE FAKE RIGHTS OF ARABS
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (06.19.11)
We see often on these talkbacks from various pro-Palestinian, Palestinian and other Arab writers that somehow they have some sort of rights, or the land is being gobbled up, or some such nonsense. But we must remember these are Arabs, indistinguishable from any Arab in Egypt, Syria, Lebanon etc., where many, if not most of them came from. The term Palestinian prior to 1940 was Arab slang, that meant a Jewish person living in Palestine. Only in recent history did the Arabs redefine (steal) the term as Arabs. It was for political reasons and to use as a PR weapon against Israel. No people or country of Arabs...called Palestine...ever existed in all of history. The Arabs want the world to believe a simple lie, they had a thriving country and the Jewish people came and stole the land, and pushed them off. How silly!!!!! If that was true, then what are the answers to these simple questions: About an Arab country called Palestine. 1. When was it founded and by whom? 2. What were its borders? 3. What was its capital? 4. What were its major cities? 5. What constituted the basis of its economy? 6. What was its form of government? 7. Can you name at least one Palestinian leader before Arafat? 8. Was Palestine ever recognized by a country whose existence, at that time or now, leaves no room for interpretation? 9. What was the language of the country of **Palestine**? 10. What was the prevalent religion of the country of **Palestine**? 11. What was the name of its currency? Choose any date in history and tell what was the approximate exchange rate of the Palestinian monetary unit against the US dollar, Euro, GB pound, Japanese yen, or Chinese yuan on that date. 12. And, finally, since there is no such country today, what caused its demise and when did it occur? WHOOPS!!!! CASE CLOSED
52. #49. It's either Israel or Palestine.
Chaim ,   Israel   (06.19.11)
#49 Ernest. All you have to do is take out a map and look at it. You can see there is no room for two states in Israel. Even if our two peoples got along. Which they emphatically do not. "Palestinians' have never hidden their desire to destroy Israel. It's in their media, covenants, schools...everywhere in their society. So the idea of Israel and Palestine living side by side in peace is ludicrous. It's either Israel or Palestine. Moreover, Judea and Samaria legally belong to Israel.
53. to no.4
Jennie ,   Israel/US   (06.19.11)
You should be the last to critisize Barak, a known pali supporter and a real abomination on Israeli people... As for your post, pinchas, you have no clue or regard to the history and the whereabouts of the so-called palestinians, nor for the number of attempts, Israel was trying to negotiate with them....And that is even without mentioning their constant terrorism against our children and innocent civilians... How can you negotiate with chamas and fattah, who won't give up on the idea of total innihiation of our Nation, nor recognize our right to live on our ancient land ...Yehuda and Shomron was never theirs (and will never BE)..The recorded history of the ME, has never mentioned their existence as such....Shame on you, pinchas, that as an Israeli from Beit Hakerem, you have no clue of some real history of the country you live in...And BTW, if G-d forbid they would ever win, it would only happen because of Jews and Israelis like you...You could be quite useful to the palis, defending their fictional story...You could become their wild card, so why don't you act on your symphaty and passions ?
