2. Israel is a tough place,....
Gideon Reader ,   USA   (06.22.11)
...to catch a break. Just when you think that Shimon Peres or Putz Peretz, Amnon Mitzna, or the old fat guy from Mossad, or some other proven to be useless, but terminally embarassing polititurd fool may possibly; just at the outward stretch possible, will shut the hell up and leave the national stage; comes the blast from the past, as in past tense, happily long gone from the conciousness of Israel, Israelis and rational people everywhere, comes Aryeh Deri. Like athelete's foot, or jock itch, the creeping crud or similar afflictions, appearantly impossible to get rid of forever. Pharoh did not have such plagues. Better frogs than Deri.
3. Necessity of condemning phony "peace process".
Chaim ,   Israel   (06.22.11)
Israel has suffered, and continues to suffer, incalculable harm as a result of the phony "peace process". It brings Israel rockets by the thousands, wars, hostile flotillas and every type of evil. Recent polls show the vast majority of Israeli Jews (77%) oppose ceding Judea and Samaria. The "peace process" is intended to steal Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria from Israel and trim our waist to a suicidal 9 miles (15 minute tank ride). Condeming the phony "peace process" is a necessity. No Jewish patriot should support any politician who fails to vigourously condemn this abomination.

6. The making of a knesset star.
Mark   (06.22.11)
Bribe, fraud, breach of trust, the keys to enter politics in Israel. --- A president, a PM, all the better. It sure will raise the status of our lawmakers..Maybe we should have an insigna " jail bird " on the lapels of these rare birds.--- a 'sesame' that will open all doors in this holy land of ours. Being on the subject, we might as well open the doors of our jails. I am certain that our venerable politicians will find a great selection of secretaries, pages, assistants to complement their backgroung ------- "" I got 7 or 8 Knesset seats despite the jail (a badge of honor) and all the above. Congratulation Deri, your men delivered. Nothing like religion to cement a new order. After all, Jail, Schmail, what's in a name.

9. We don't need another crook.
Terry ,   Eilat - Israel   (06.22.11)
Can't we ever get rid of our lousy politicians, they're worse than some loathsome skin disease. A normal person would be ashamed but our politicians are a shameless breed.
10. #2 Deri and all that crap
Ian ,   Israel   (06.22.11)
Thank your lucky stars that you live in the USA - you would never want to put with the Deri's and all the other egocentric crap heads that populate this piece of turf.
11. Only one Leftist has the right for comebacks
Nora Tel Aviv   (06.22.11)
You guessed it......his name is......Shimon Peres. So, Mr. Deri, don`t even try to play the Leftist, unless you accept to become Peres`s poodle.
12. Political game changer
Avramele   (06.22.11)
Do the math. The gap between left and right is now 5-6 seats in favor of the right with low turnout among Arabs and young chilonim. With a revitalized labor, increased Arab turnout and a centrist Sephardi force led by Deri the game changes quickly particularly if the Likud rightists and settlers drive the more centrist and classical liberal elements of Likud out. Our next big bang is a coming and Bibi can either move to a coalition with kadima now or wait till Likud implodes when it loses both it's secular and Sephardi voters.
13. Remember how sh-ass abstained for
jason white ,   afula, israel   (06.22.11)
the vote on oslo? 1,700 dead Jews later, tens of thousands injured and the enemy on our borders. This draft dodger wants to reenter politics? After what he was found guilty of. He should be ashamed to be seen in public. I hope the voters punish deri and his gang in the next elections. I also hope we introduce sharia law for politicians. Ones like deri will never be able to lay tefillan with no hands.

knesset.
17. #12. Israel's long term trend is rightward.
Chaim ,   Israel   (06.22.11)
#12. Don't know where you got this theory. It has more holes in it than a screen door. Israel has been trending rightward for two decades at least. Recent polls show 77% of Israeli Jews oppose ceding Judea and Samaria. Kadima is in free fall. Labor and Meretz are being voted out of existence. There is every indication this rightward trend is gaining steam.
