1. Israel is very proud
David ,   On this planet   (06.22.11)
to have a leader like Barak, He knows very well how to retreat, he did it many times before. How shameful to have leaders like him
2. Let's hope the new route will not endanger Israelis
William ,   Israel   (06.22.11)
As for Leftists and "Palestinians", I couldn't care less how the fence affects them. Prior to the violence and illegal terrorism known as the Intifada, there was no fence, and since it went up, terrorism dropped to nothing, and common thefts dropped by 80%. Will the clashes end? Of course not. One group wants all the fence to disappear, another group wants it on the 1967 borders so it justifies the "Palestinians" illegal land grab, and another group (mostly Hamas and Leftists) want the fence out to the beach with Jews on the other side of it. The IDF is still justified in responding to these violent jerks and should often, but now they lost their one point of argument - that the IDF doesn't follow the Supreme Court ruling.
3. Decades after courts rule attacks illegal, Pals still shoot
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (06.23.11)
Fence shmence. Not a single "human rights" NGO has ever organized a protest against the illegal death squads the Palestinians have used for decades to murder Israeli civilians. What Mohammad Khatib didn't say, and the Ynet reporter should have asked, is that the Palestinians consider Tel Aviv to be occupied, and Mohammad Khatib want's that "back" too. The black humor in all this, of course, is that when Arabs who call themselves "Palestinians" say that they want their land "back" - is that there was never a country called "Palestine" that was "stolen" from these Arabs. Never. Ever. There was, of course, a country called Israel where we Jews came from. We were refugees, and now we have returned to our homeland, which we found occupied by Arabs who had arrived over the years.
4. Hope is as baffling as belief.
Ypip ,   Canada   (06.23.11)
They have their reason...that is all.
5. Land 'back' to the Palestinians?
David ,   Shiloh Israel   (06.23.11)
What on earth is the writer talking about? By saying that land which was occupied for a short time by Jordan is actually Palestinian, is to confer with the widely held view that Jordan is Palestine!
6. foolishness= leftist courts
judah ,   Israel   (06.23.11)
7. Security matters should not be brought
jason white ,   afula, israel   (06.23.11)
before the Israeli courts. They are not experts in security and they will side with the enemy. The enemy should never be allowed to use our court system. We need to annex the land, it is Jewish. We must remove the illegal pali settlers now!
8. The rule of law applies in Israel, unlike

10. Palestinian rights will be recognized...
Robert Benson ,   Berkeley,USA   (06.23.11)
with or without US/Israeli consent. Get used to it or remain in denial, while the world turns against you.
11. The Wall is a huge success story.
Michael ,   California, USA   (06.23.11)
Israel is accustomed to live with perforated borders while relying on patrols, manned barriers, electronic fences, etc.. Failures were many, the worst of it the Bar Lev line that led to many victims among soldiers. It was a huge and very long internal battle to build the Wall. While corrections can be and will be made, it is imperative that Israel never goes back to living with flimsy borders. Saving soldiers lives is paramount.
12.  2 down 100 more villages to go

13. Victory for the people of Bilin
Joseph   (06.23.11)
The people of Bilin are courageous and many protesters have been murdered by Israeli soldiers. But in the end they have won. Just like in Bilin, one day the rest of the occupied territories will be returned to their true owners as well.
14. BIAS in article
Ya'akov ,   Jerusalem   (06.23.11)
"land back to the (fake) "palistinians"??? Back implies that it was theirs to begin with. It has been Jewish for nearly 4,000 years. It was occupied, illegally, by a foreign newly invented country (which sits on the east bank of Israel) called Jordan for 19 yrs, ONLY 19 yrs!!! The author should say "land given away to the Arabs.
15. "last protest"? is that a joke? sick-in-the-soul protestors-
dante ,   uk   (06.23.11)
ever hear the expression "get a life"? what would these morons do if they didn't have a protest to attend? the answer is "nothing". they are empty...filled only with folly and hate.
16. the answer to question: do the palis have a supreme court?
dante ,   uk   (06.23.11)
answer: yes, they have a supreme court. it sits in the Beit Mishpat Elyon. now, the question is: when will Israel have a supreme court that protects her rights?
17. I am happy for Israel
Ali ,   Scotland   (06.23.11)
This is good ,each small step in the right direction is good . I am glad so see Israel do whats right . If israel would take as many steps as possible to do the right thing ,the world would be happy with Israel.
18. This is good news.
Ernest ,   Jerusalem   (06.23.11)
Leaderships and their respective interests need to decide this "final status" of these negotiations and communicate it to the people in a way they can understand and accept. Living under these kinds of circumstances, participants of these demonstrations and the IDF having to perform their duties isn't conducive for this ideal kind of environment that comes with the vision of "the land of Zion". Locals see that other people feel adamant enough about their cause to come with a marching band and approach this "fence gate" to get doused with that kind of special "skunk" odorant. The tear gas gets dispersed affecting demonstrators too, maybe because of children slinging stones towards the adjacent perimeter fence line with soldiers on guard there. Tear gas may not have even had to be used had it not been for that. And there are protesters taken by ambulance to the hospital due to tear gas inhalation. Palestinians can't be blamed for living on this land. Reports are that they could even be of the Hebrew people. If Palestinians can be content living in Israel, what would it take for Israelis to be content living in Palestine and what would it take to have Palestinian consent? You can ask yourself how obedient ways are in efforts to "clutch Torah". After all, it could be said this is the basis for the establishment of Israel and the dream of the return out of exile.
19. They want it all!
Steve ,   USA   (06.23.11)
So the Palistakis won't stop till they get all the 'occupied land'? Was this ever in doubt? Unlike some of the wing-nuts on this site, most of us know that what the Philistinians mean by 'occupied land' is all of Israel. Give them an inch they want a mile.
20. Robert BensCon the occupation setter in Berkeley
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (06.23.11)
Benson, you're just another successful American occupier looking down your nose at us from the land you stole from its rightful owners. You two-faced liars squawk about "rights", yet you continue your illegal occupation of native American lands. Your history of real slavery and denial of rights to your own citizens for almost 200 years is a disgusting legacy of your illegal occupation - be it in California or New York. Go back to England where you came from. We Jews went back to where we came from, and that happens to be here in Israel. If the Arabs who call themselves "Palestinians" want "rights", then let them recognize our rights. If "Palestine" is the national homeland for the "Palestinian people", then let them recognize that Israel is the national homeland of the Jewish people. The fact is that California is not your native homeland, so stop being a criminal occupation settler, give the land you stole back, and then you can preach to us.

Every inch of the Apartheid Wall must Fall.

JUDAH THE LION   (06.23.11)
Why dont you complain about apartheid against Saudi Arabia, for not allowing CHRISTAIN & JEWS to build CHURCHES & SYNAGOGUES and to have freedom to practiuce their religion. Arabs are free to prey and to have mosques all over Israel. Come on Miss Twister, twist the mind andc laws of your beloved Muslims.
23. #22
Salma ,   Palestine   (06.23.11)
I know you miss the the Arabian Peninsula where Jews came from, but it was your choice to steal our land so you have only yourselves to blame.
24. #3
Bertram ,   London, UK   (06.23.11)
Brian is absolutely right. Likewise, I shall advocate that the Aborigines and Native Americans reclaim, repectively, Australia and the United States from the descendants of the European colonialists. In addition, there is a strong case for the descendants of the Celts forced to migrate from Britain to France 1500 years ago, together with their Welsh and Cornish brethren, to take back the land from the Anglo-Saxon invaders - and for the latter to return to Germany. England is Saxony!
