As a mother of a former IDF commando in the Nachal Hareidi, i can tell you that there are many essential items which are lacking in order to help our soldiers function better. It is extremely COLD in the desert at night during the winter, and soldiers really need all the hats and high quality thermal underwear plus other expensive stuff... . they can get. Soldiers must buy this for themselves which can run into hundreds of dollars or much more. Some soldiers can't afford extras and do without, only to suffer and get harmed as a result! My son can attest that this happens. So, when good people out there donate something like this to our soldiers, it is a wonderful thing and SHOULD BE NEWS!!!

During the Sinai Campaign, when I was 11 years old, I knitted balaclava hats for soldiers. It made me feel that I was making a contribution and helping our soldiers. This article brings back a flood of memories .....
