31. Sarah get real, a crisis in gaza is not in our interest
izzie irgun ,   usa   (06.24.11)
as sweet as it sounds that approach will not produce the desired results, it will only serve to isolate israel in the world community. Right now the tide is turning. The palestinians are desparately looking for a way of out of the un in spetember and the world is starting to go after hamas on shalitt ... over in syria assad is deep trouble. In another month the middle east wont look the same. Even turkey is eating turkey as they are embarassed by syria and the potential of war from hezbollah. The floatilla sails in a couple of days and there is bound to be a violent confrontation but this time everyone sees that the ships are nothing but provocations .. even the idiot Moon at the un says so. So let bibi stay the course and turn the heat up on hamas ... but its better to let them simmer than boil over.
32. # 6 David so right!
BMaybe you shouldn't ,   United States   (06.24.11)
not that there will ever be free elections in Gaza but, the populace can and will turn on a dime and create havoc for Hamas, who's making money on everything but peace for their captives.
33. #10. You'd house terrorists in 5 star resorts. Pathetic..
Chaim ,   Israel   (06.24.11)
#10. You say Bibi risks having Shalit tortured. That is always a high risk when one is kidnapped by terrorists. We have no control over how Hamas treats it's victims. Your response, and others like it, are motivated by fear. You act exactly how terrorists want you to act. You are under their control. The proper response to terrorists is to pound them till they surrender or are destroyed. Not to appease them. People like you would house terrorists in 5 star resorts out of fear. Pathetic.
34. Gaza =Virus
Erudite ,   Australia   (06.24.11)
Sadly Shalit is still in the hands of degenerate inbred organisms that mimic humans. Any resemblance is coincidental and must not be confused with humankind. This organism must not be allowed to continue inffecting civilisation and should be eradicated like viruses that caused havoc through the centuries past. "ayin tachat ayin" is a process that should commence. .After 12 months it should be revisited and if the virus continues unabated, the infected area {Gaza} must be treated accordingly.

john Darren ,   cairns-Australia   (06.24.11)
Your post as per usual is absurd. You are too stupid to know the difference between a freedom fighter and terrorist. You are very "privileged"to be able to post your stupid, vile and childish comments on this site.Does it ever enter your tiny brain why anybody ever agrees with you?'Your prisoners are very fortunate to receive the privileges that they do-they should be put to work for their food and medical care.Yes,it does actually happen in some countries and there are not any complaints. It cost Israel a mother of a fortune to keep your pampered scum there.I hope that Bibi alters that fact now.Read post 11 and I hope that you wipe the froth off your foul mouth.

john Darren ,   cairns-Australia   (06.24.11)
G'Day gorgeous , I think that Shalit has been promoted to a Sgt or even Staff Sgt.I agree with you that Shalit is alive-like you say he is Hamas' ace in the hole.
37. to 26
john Darren ,   cairns-Australia   (06.24.11)
Gaza is still good Israeli land.To free Shalit-target a Hamas leader EVERY day till Shalit is free. After about a 100 dead Hamas leaders the rest of them will even give you all the virgins in Paradise too.
38. party over
moron ,   galut   (06.24.11)
brong back justice minister friedman-by far the best ever
39. One must trade for Shatlit in Kind
Sam ,   Nanuet USA   (06.24.11)
Hamas does not care about the conditions of Palestinians under arrest. Israel must hold a better bargaining chip than 1,000 terrorists. How about catching one of Meshaal's or Haniyhh's children and trade them.
40. Bibi is right..
Jeff ,   USA   (06.24.11)
If I was him I would reinstate the death penalty, and all those non political prisoners convicted of terrorism and murder and put them up against the wall. Why not the SAME Muslim countries eliminate them. They want to go out and kill people at random, they pay the price. And all you Americans Ive seen on here and other sites b*tching about how hard they have it,TOUGH.You complain here that we give our prisoners too much.,I understand that Israel is a moral country and try's to have great values, but enough is enough with these murdering scum. GS isnt even alive,I hate to say that, but I dont believe that he is..Its going to be just like Lebanon and getting back dead bodies. Quit the coddling of these monsters!Your going to get garbage from the idiot lefties in the world anyways, might as well be safe while you do it.
41. Time to "aggrivate" Pollard's conditions!
John Robey ,   Austin, Texas   (06.24.11)
42. why treat them better than the US does?
tzip ,   new york, usa   (06.24.11)
Good choice Bibi!
43. #23 You might want to add something
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (06.24.11)
to their footwear while you're at it DENVER BOOT, (sometimes called an Oregon boot) which hinders their ability to escape
44. Absolutely no reason for th em to complain
BEN JABO ,   ISRRAEL   (06.24.11)
I too lived in a hot tent with no TV or A/C To add insult to injury I had to shlep a heavy pack, neshek, helmet and a memiya with tepid if not hot water to drink, and for a good part of the time, I had to jog or walk fast, while doing it And to top it off, at the end of the day, If I was on tje roster SHMIRA for half the night
45. No #6.
Israeli 2   (06.24.11)
These creatures called Hamas do not care for the families nor their "captive heroes". I do agree with #1 and with #10. They will torture Shalit even more. What would we have gained? If Hamas can capture an Israeli soldier, they would most likely be able to capture more Israelis as well. Then what? These are sober facts we have to content with. Unless Israel is prepared to have an "Entebe style" operation, just let it ride.
46. all shalits conditions must be replicated for arab prisoners
bernard ross ,   st anns bay jamaica   (06.24.11)
no visitors, no red cross, no known location, solitary confinement, etc.etc.etc.
47. #30, deeply naive
Ari   (06.24.11)
deeply naive statements. Also, if you are right wing I am mother teresa. The decision to ratchet up the pressure is long overdue. Dealing with Hamas with kid gloves is a joke. When Israel assasinated Rantisi and Sheik Yassin people said the same thing about image BLAH BLAH BLAH. Now nobody remembers them and nobody cares about these terrorists. Stop with the shtuyote about image Blah Blah Blah. All of it is nonsense. Making life miserable for Hamas is long overdue.
48. a lesson
Helene ,   Tel Aviv   (06.24.11)
Something I don't understand - Israel should bomb the plush parts of Gaza and live the Palestinian victims of Hamas alone for a while. How about destroying the houses where Hamas leaders live - their houses, their restaurants, their places of leisure - the luxury shops where Hamas wives do their shopping.... I once saw the "rich Gaza" on a french TV program - Believe me there is quite a lot to be destroyed there. May be then those bastards will understand a bit more of what Israel can do to make their lives as miserable as they do to Gilad Shalit
49. Grow up
dudu ,   IL   (06.24.11)
Meanwhile, Hamas official in Gaza Salah Bardwil questioned the Red Cross's call to allow its members to visit Gilad. He accused Israel of exploiting the organization to influence world opinion. Hold on... you angry that we playing you at your own pathetic game? Grow up you bunch of Palestinian begging losers. The more the 'world' helps you - the lazier you have become. Peace with you is an impossibility, as you are too comfortable in your current position. Hand-out anyone?
50. # 29 What's Really Aggravating
Max   (06.24.11)
Is stupid people from the US who make stupid comments, and can't even get their spelling right.
51. What stupidity. Hamas is laughing at Bibi!
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (06.24.11)
This isn't anything close to what is needed. Bibi must impose total solitary confinement on all Palestinian prisoners. I said this before and I'll say it again - we clearly don't have enough prison space to do this, so go outside, dig a few thousand 3 x 3 holes in the ground, and put a Pal prisoner in each hole with a bed and a bucket in the corner and a 40 watt lightbulb. Then cover the hole with a ceiling. No more family visits. No more lawyers. No more group prayer. No more light of day. No more phone calls. No more letters. No more exercise periods. No more light of day. Give them 3 meals a day and an air hole. Give them exactly what GIlad Shalit gets. These prisoners get family visits!!! No longer. Cut them off. Make them disappear. Give them the exact same conditions that Hamas gives Shalit. Do it now!
52. To: No. 31
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (06.24.11)
The world is a fickle place -- and anti-Semitism hasn't gone away, it's merely morphed into hatred of Israel. We will never be "loved" and, frankly, I do not care. The world will love us greatly were we to roll over and die, and that is not going to happen. I'm with Machiavelli -- it is far, far better to be feared than to be loved.
53. To: No. 41
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (06.24.11)
Oh, please. He is in solitary confinement in one of the worst federal supermax prisons. He was denied compassionate leave to say good-bye to his mother and, again, to say good-bye to his father. He was not allowed to attend their funerals. How to you propose to aggravate (note proper spelling, oh illiterate one) Pollard's conditions any more than they already are? The Unabomber and Ramzi Yussef (Remember him? He tried to blow up the World Trade Center) live far less rigorously. Pollard's sentence was disproportionate. He remains imprisoned because he is a Jew.
54. number 23
dudi ,   IL   (06.24.11)
agree... add to that some pork chops - I will pay! As long as they hold Gilad - no Halal food. We need to play them at their own game!
55. Netanyahu a common criminal...
(06.24.11)
56. This is what i would do...
Anon ,   Johannesburg   (06.24.11)
I would take the 1000 or so Palestinian criminals (with blood on their hands) sitting in Israeli Jails and start hanging them... for every day Shalit is not released - hang another. Like the game HangMan... Violence is the only language Hamas understands. Think of the money that could off been saved if we started hanging them the day he was abducted... over a 1000 days... Israeli Jails would be empty! Great cost-saving technique. But that’s just me... in South Africa the local community takes hold of criminals and place a tire over their neck and lights them on fire (all because the government does nothing) they stay burning until the police arrive around 45 minutes later. I fully support this kind of murder for the simple reason that I am sure that it has saved my life a few times over. When in Rome…
57. Stupid, stupid, stupid
Sarah B. ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (06.24.11)
How can this idiot announce his intentions when Shalit is still in the hands of Hamas.... Does this incompetent fool realize that he is putting Shalit in a clear and present danger?
58. Salma - you make me puke
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (06.24.11)
Sure, Salma. Amjad and Hakim Awad are freedom fighters. I'm glad you are honest with us, but let's here you say it clearly: Palestinians who murder Israeli babies are freedom fighters. Come on, Salma. You appear to enjoy the fact that many of your "freedom fighters" have committed mass murder. We always knew that you supported terrorism. We also know that you Palestinians are liars too, so you use pretty words like "freedom fighter" for a Palestinian animal like Awad, who stuck a knife into a baby girl after murdering her parents and brothers. You are disgusting. "Palestine" will be a curse on the world, and will bring your culture of blood and death.
59. The post at No. 57 is not mine
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (06.24.11)
For one thing, I've already addressed the subject. Secondly -- "a clear and present danger?" One adjective too many and too theatrical by far. Better luck next time.
60.  # 58 Thanks Brian
Bad assed Jew. ,   United States   (06.24.11)
thanks for saying exactly what we, the majority also say. There will never be a pal state and they shall never know victory. Shabbat Shalom.
